   Rococo Steak – A Mixed Experience After years away, we decided to revisit Rococo Steak to see if it still held up. The restaurant’s ambiance was darker than expected, and despite requesting a brighter table, we were informed we were already at one of the brightest spots. Thankfully, cell phone flashlights came to the rescue. As for the food, it was a mix of hits and misses. The Caesar salad was just okay, but the steak and brussels sprouts stood out as delicious. However, the parmesan truffle fries were disappointing at first—room temperature and missing the expected truffle flavor. Thankfully, our server quickly replaced them with a fresh, much-improved batch. One major downside was the pricing. The lowest-priced steak starts at $57 à la carte, which felt steep considering the overall experience. While the food itself was good, the atmosphere and value left much to be desired. Won't be rushing back.

   Food was excellent, as was service. The floor plan and exterior looks like a funeral home and apparently it was 100 years ago, so the layout is odd. I liked it immensely, best steak place in StPete or Tampa…my wife couldn’t get past the funeral home vibe.

   There were definitely highs and lows to our meal. We started off with oysters and a Caesar salad. The Caesar was nothing special in my opinion and not something I’d get again. The oysters were incredible. We ordered steaks as our mains, my husband ordered the wagyu ribeye medium rare and it came medium well. We expected more from a steakhouse at that price point especially. The filet mignon was incredible with their truffle butter and peppercorn sauce. Don’t skip the mushroom side. The server said the sides were big but honestly it’s nice for two people to split. We ordered the truffle fries and those were horrendous. Highly recommend the donut dessert. All in all the meal was good but not great.

   We have been going to Rococo’s for years, we were celebrating our 50 th anniversary, usually even if we didn’t order dessert we received a dessert to celebrate, not tonight. I was disappointed that nothing was brought to the table.

   It’s been 2 1/2 years since my last dinner this fine establishment and that’s way too long. We had an incredible experience and everything was spot on. Rococo Steak is it true gem to Saint Pete / Tampa. We will be back soon.

    You will NOT be disappointed if you come here! The food is exceptional, service by Andy was on point. I'm gluten free and Andy made sure to verify ingredients of some of the menu items so that I did not get sick. The chef even altered a cooking method from frying to roasting so that I was able to enjoy the brussel sprouts. I love everything about this dining experience! Phenomenal steaks, mouth watering side dishes and delectable dessert. This really made our anniversary stand out on the food front. Come pay them a visit if you want to be well taken care of and give your taste buds something to really savor.
