Odd Duck brings the spirit of Austin to its eclectic and unique plates, with a focus on local ingredients and sustainable practices. Starters like the curry-spiced carrots with beer nuts and pickled onions and the beef cracklin' tater tots with creamy Béarnaise sauce are inventive glimpses at the meal ahead. Popular entrée items include the crispy pork belly with pecan jerk glaze, the hearty green tomato and maza fritter with goat chorizo verde, and the wagyu ribeye with oyster mushrooms. Odd Duck also has an extensive craft beer and cocktail list so you can select the ideal complement to your meal. Try the cold shoulder with Scotch, espresso and toasted almond liquor for a delightful pick-me-up. Odd Duck's made-from-scratch and high-quality standards are as refreshing as its food is delicious. What started out as a food truck has risen through the ranks, changed hands and become an establishment structurally as a brick and mortar building with a solid foundation in culinary technique and execution. Most excitingly at Odd Duck are the ingredients and their arrangements. Both in preparation and presentation plates are as fun to look at as well eat. What at first appears to be a random assortment of fixings taste as meticulously prepared as the palate senses. Mostly an upscale casual feel with a busy center kitchen the space is built for entertainment. The menu is constructed with mostly small plates that are meant to be shared and discussed. You should be ordering the duck with an assortment of veggies that complement and support one of their more hearty dishes. Not to be overshadowed the cocktails are expertly prepared as deconstructed favorites. Most enjoyable in that arena was the margarita which substitutes traditional salt rim with salt foam. How do you even get salt to emulsify into a foam?! Overall and extremely satisfying experience with the perfect amount of novelty to excite any true traveler in need of something new and refreshing, thanks!

Odd Duck is terrific and has been since the food truck days. The food is interesting without being pretentious. We had 4 in our party and tried most of the menu items that day. There was not a single bad dish. Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that it wasn't a revelatory, life-changing meal. Just great. Which is far better than most places can do.

For our anniversary we decided to have dinner at Odd Duck. We've been there twice before and have always been pleased with the creative and delicious food and drinks. There was a more limited selection of vegetarian items, but otherwise the food was great! It tends to be really busy and fairly noisy, but the food makes it worth it. I do wish the staff communicated with each other better, as we ended up with them trying to serve us a dish we never ordered!

We received a gift card to the restaurant and finally got around to going. We allowed the waiter to order for us and was extremely impressed with the food and service. Sitting at the bar was the best, we got good service and had a wonderful time. We will come back!

We reserved a table for 4 on open table on a Saturday night at 9:30PM. They called me on Friday to confirm the reservation, and we were able to add one more person to our reservation with no issues. One of our party arrived around 9:10, but was seated immediately without the reminder of the party. The remainder of us arrived at 9:30 and were seated at the table immediately. The menu is meant for tapas style sharing, so we ordered around 15 total dishes between the 5 of us. Reasonable prices, delicious food. Highly recommend the sweet potato dish, the pig face sandwich (reminded us of pate), fried pickles, duck breast, and the wagyu beef dish.

My wife and I just got back from a belated valentines dinner and we were not disappointed. Odd Duck has a casual, homey vibe that becomes even more real when sitting at the bar to observe and chat up the kitchen staff. The cocktails were great and the small plate setup is a big plus for people like us who want to taste everything (grilled broccoli and the sweet potatoes were the surprise of the night...and the Parker house Rolls are a must!). Stay long and order lots. Highly recommended.

We travel all over to eat. Here in Austin to visit my daughter and thought we'd bring my husband here for dinner. My daughter and I have eaten here a couple of times when I've come to visit. My husband hasn't stopped talking about it and wants to go back. We have a rule when visiting new cities to not eat twice at the same one till the list is complete. Going to be braking the rule. The pulled pork rolls were amazing. Jeffs favorite was the duck confit and Annies was the crispy pork belly. My favorite was the orange cream filled donut. The others had the brown butter pear desert. Just as good.

A wonderful place for a night out; menu is comprised of delicious combinations of old and new flavors combined in original ways. Reservations are recommended as this place was still hopping at 9pm when we left on a weeknight. Waitstaff is young, passionate, and very friendly; the bartender even gave us a free dessert-- very much appreciated! If you get to sit near the kitchen, watch carefully-- it's an amazing sight.

Eating at Odd Duck was one of my top 5 dining experiences. The plates are inventive, well-balanced and deee-licious! My husband and I came here on a Saturday night and we were seated at the bar, which we like because you can see all the activity in the kitchen. The restaurant is a nicely designed space and the ambience is relaxed. All the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. We were feeling adventurous and asked our server to make selections and surprise after sharing some things we generally do and don't like. I definitely recommend going this route at Odd Duck! We had so much fun and loved trying dishes we probably wouldn't have chosen on our own.

The Odd Duck is my favorite place in town bar none. I've tried to find other places to surpass it (just for the heck of it), some are up there, but none have one my heart over, or my loyalty. The cocktail menu is constantly changing as is the taste menu. The drinks are always surprising and perfectly balanced. The service is always impeccable. A combination of casual dinning and quality/pride for that's on the menu that week. You never feel rushed, staff always remembers you. And, from conversations with staff they love working there!

After living in Austin for over two years, we finally made a reservation for Sunday Brunch when a friend was in town! After hearing a lot of positive comments about the Odd Duck, we were a little weary that it would not meet our expectations. We shouldn't have worried. From the friendly valets to the great flavors of all the different foods we tasted, it was a great time. Our waitress made great recommendations, and the plates were perfect for sharing. French press coffee (a favorite) started us off on the right track. We all ordered different dishes, and the recommendation of our waitress that one and a half to two each would be enough, turned out to be spot on. Lots of different flavors to taste on the different patterned plates we used that were all different (liked that a lot!). We liked the fact that the food was made from local producers - that is a definite plus for us! We sat by the window and it was packed, but the noise level was never too high for the four of us to have a normal conversation. Will definitely be back, and would highly recommend it to anyone who likes great tasting food and a fun environment. Two thumbs up!
