The Brigantine is more than just home to some of San Diego’s finest seafood. It’s a place where locals and visitors alike come to share a lively atmosphere and authentic sense of community. The Morton family opened the first Brigantine on Shelter Island in 1969, with a vision that embraced the beach town lifestyle, a dedication to flavorful food, and a passion for friendly service.

Today, we’re known far and wide for our San Diego-style surf and turf. From our award-winning fish tacos and freshly shucked oysters, to classic filet mignon or our perpetually best-selling marinated grilled swordfish. Always prepared to exceed expectations, and served with a smile. You can stop in at any neighborhood Brigantine and get a taste of the local flavor, from regionally inspired specials, to custom cocktails and home town craft beers.     Enjoy the best views of the Big Bay Boom from our best tables for viewing the firework show. Each table has a $200 per person fee that purchases the table for the show. When booking this option, you will be guaranteed a waterside table on the glass with an unparalleled view of the firework shows. This upfront payment will go towards your total bill. We will be offering a set menu of three courses where you get to choose one on a list of appetizers, soup or salads & selection of entrees- which you can view in pictures. A 20 % gratuity will apply to your coursed menu and any additional beverage or food ordered. We will be accepting reservations at 645pm. We cannot guarantee any specific table and will be accommodating the preferences of the earlier reservations that arrive first.

    Open Table Experience Dinner reservations for interior patio and DR at 7pm: Come celebrate 4th of July by joining us in our dining rooms with floor to ceiling windows with great views of the harbor , this does come with an obstructed view of the fireworks. This experience reservation will get you a table in our dining room offering a three course meal for $100 per adult. You would get your choice of appetizer, soup or salad and entrée, from some of our popular favorites we have offered for years. A 20% gratuity will be applied to this $100 coursed menu per person and any additional food and drink purchased. The regular dinner menu will NOT be offered for any reservations made. Reservations time for this experience is 7:00pm only and you are welcome to stay through the firework show at 9pm. All guests are expected to remain seated during the show, as to not disturb other diners. The earlier reservations will get first choice on remaining tables available, as we cannot guarantee any one table through this experience. You are welcome to order additional appetizers, oysters, drinks and desserts at your leisure. Please note if you would like a table along the glass with the best views, please seek out the “4th of July Glass Tables Experience” on OpenTable, while tables last.

                                                                        We were fortunate to be seated at the rail and had a great view of the harbor. The food selection was very good and was prepared to our liking. All in all it was a pleasant experience.

                                                                        Beautiful restaurant, great menu, the view was stunning and the food was delicious. Not to mention our server Jessica was excellent! Very attentive, kind and knowledgeable on the menu with great recommendations. Definitely will be returning!

                                                                        Used to truly enjoy dining here when it first opened on Portside, but quality of food has become just "okay" over the years. Great restaurant if you're looking for family friendly atmosphere and due to location has a great sunset view.

                                                                        We enjoyed the ambience immensely! The view was incredible and the servicer didn't rush us. We enjoyed drinks and appetizers before our meal. After awhile the sun hit us. There wasn't an umbrella over our table so it got a bit bright and warm.

                                                                        Always love coming here The location is perfect if your coming in on a boat and can just dock in front! The views are spectacular!! We decided at last minute we wanted to dine here and couldn’t believe they had an opening for 8 people! We lucked out! We sat in the bar with Jake and he was awesome!!!! I’ve worked in hospitality for over 35 years and I can be overly critical, however Jake was fantastic! The majority of us ordered the Macadamia nut crusted Mahi Mine however was cold, but Jake took care of it and got me one that was nice and hot! Our friend also got the burger and it was sooo good!!! If you get a chance dine here , make sure to make a reservation in advance because it gets very busy Enjoy

                                                                        We’ve been to Brigantine Portside a number of times of times so when our family visited from Holland it was the first place we thought of. The service was great as always but they stuck us in a back corner, the menu hasn’t changed in ages and the food was very disappointing - oysters were small, tasteless and had bits of shell in almost all of them. The steak special was very fatty and the fish was dry & tasteless. Very disappointing all round & unfortunately the view didn’t make up for it as there wasn’t one this time…
