Absolutely not what we expected. Omakase was omakase like which we realized after. Some Portions were large - and too large sometimes - very strange menu. Only piece that was omakase - ish was the foie gras. Would not return for the price or in general. Disappointing. They did try though. Just not for me.

We are so happy that we came to Rabbit House during NYC's Restaurant Week. The food and drinks were beyond anything we could have hoped for before our visit. The sea bass was literally some of the best fish I've ever had in my life. Also, the staff was charming. We enjoyed the visit so much that we're heading back this weekend to try out their sushi offering.

The food was mediocre overpriced and expensive. Service was good. I live in New York and I understand eating out is expensive but 90 dollars for 6-course-dinner with mediocre food just doesn’t make sense to me. Waitress was very nice

Amazing chef's choice meal coming out of a tiny kitchen and served with love and care in a tiny restaurant. This is not sushi omakase (chef's choice) but a succession of delicious and varied courses including vegetables, fish, meats, and a dessert--6 in all. The menu is fixed but they can accommodate pescatarians and vegetarians (and probably vegans too). Largest table is for 6, so not for groups. The deluxe omakase is $140, the regular $90, so a good price for this type of elaborately prepared, luxurious food.

Rabbit House was a fun experience for serious eaters.. The dishes were well executed and had the feel of a chef developing an innovative menu. Not every dish was a homerun as yet and the dishes come out a beat slow but you will not have a more interesting experience for the price.

Had an amazing experience with a friend trying their restaurant week omakase dinner. March was a fabulous bartender/server that really made us feel at home in the small space. This is a true hidden gem and the food was spectacular!

Very nice place with a great 6-course menu concept. The menu is 80£ excluding the drinks and the chef brings her creativity and refined tastes onto the plates. Portions are not very generous but you’ll come out full. The staff is very friendly and the service very personalised as staff is colleague us by our name. Would recommend to book because it is a small place

I went to Rabbit House with a friend, for Restaurant week, and the food was incredible. The staff was very helpful in getting my questions answered and making substitutions when necessary (I require food to be gluten-free), and even allowing me to sit at my spot for about a 1/2 an hour later than the reservation was made for. I sat at the bar and the barstools were very comfortable with high backed chairs. All in all, I would return if I’m ever in the neighborhood again!

Start to finish was an incredible experience - The ambiance, food, and staff were fantastic. The chef came and spoke to us about her omakase menu, and was friendly and informative about each dish. The servers were equally as informative and attentive. I cannot wait to go back!

We got the delux omakase and I have to say.. it was disappointing. There was very little raw fish and while the delux came out with additional dishes like wagyu and lamb, the wagyu was tough and chewy. We did the sake pairing which was good, but overall paid $500 for 3 people and it was not worth it.

A tiny, tucked-away gem...we tried and loved the 6 course Omakase. You might even miss this restaurant...walking up the Lower East Side's Essex Street just north of Hester...very small operation. But we were pleasantly surprised.

You cannot be in a rush. It is tiny. The chef is meticulous, creative and inventive. Everything is always fresh and delicious. The sake pairings are such fun! It is quiet, relaxing and homey. Space is tight. Each dish comes out in its own time. It's a little haven in a bustling city.

I really wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt. The waitress was so nice and recommended a lovely sake to my liking. However, an hour after ordering a drink, I still hadn’t had my first dish. The chef finally brought it out, placed it on the counter, and the waitress was about to hand it to me but someone else asked to take a picture of it. Ten minutes later, i had my first dish. It was okay….

We had a wonderful personalized omakase for my boyfriend's birthday which happened to also be on New Year's Eve. The courses were unique Japanese cuisine and beautifully presented. We also got the sake pairing for each course which went harmoniously with each dish. I highly recommend Rabbit House if you are looking for a Japanese food beyond sushi and ramen.

Absolutely delicious meal, loved the ambiance of the place great date spot. Omakase was really good, every dish was unique (dessert wasnt my favorite but the rest was perfect) especially for the $80 price. Sake was also delicious certainly recomend this place. Will be back

Horrible service. When we got there the door was locked and another customer had to open it for us. It took us a long time for the waiter to come over and we ended up just ordering drinks and an appetizer and leaving before the food got there because it took so long. The couple seated next to us had been there almost two hours and were on course 2 of 6. Would not return.

The service was dreadfully slow. 6 courses starting at 9:30 and we didn’t finish until after midnight. The food was good, but the pacing ruined the experience. The chef (owner?) is running the restaurant by herself and definitely could use a hand or two!
