Outstanding! Truffle chips and fondue, artichoke salad, short rib ravioli and prawn ravioli were all delicious, beautifully prepared and presented! Alberto provided excellent service!

Came in for the first time from Arizona based on various reviews. We had Alberto as our waiter and he was fantastic. He was very attentive and helpful making recommendations including some blind wine samples to help us decide, not just trying to sell us the most expensive glass. We ended having the focaccia to start and I had the short rib ravioli and my wife had the pesto gnocchi. Both dishes were awesome. We went early on a Tuesday with no issues but the location is relatively small so if you have a larger party or are going on a weekend a reservation is highly recommend. Will definitely go back when we’re in San Diego again.

This was my 3rd visit to Monzu. I can’t say enough about the experience. From the fresh pastas to the amazing desserts, this place nails it. Juliana our waiter, made this dining experience better than it already was. He was attentive, polite, and knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients. I could go on and on but the only way to truly enjoy an authentic Italian meal and experience is to visit Monzu. I hope you’ll have the same experiences that I’ve had. Bravo; great job.

Alberto provided excellent service while we enjoyed the fresh pasta options with amazing sauces. We loved the stuffed squash blossom and rolled mozzarella/prosciutto appetizers. It was easy to get a reservation. The wines we had were perfect, the bottle of Barbera and my glass of Greco. They make a wonderful tiramisu that we shared to finish the evening.

Monzu is to. die. for!! So freaking good, I might have to stop in multiple times while in San Diego for 2 weeks. The homemade pasta is perfectly put together and cooked to have a slight bite and chewiness that is out of this world. And their signature dish is nothing short of mind-blowing. Do not miss this stop!

Ambiance is nice. Dined on a Sunday night; I thought the staff were attentive at first, taking good care to repeat our orders - though the food came out longer than expected (50 min wait), being reassured 30 mins in that the pasta was just cooking and it wouldn’t be much longer. Well my wife’s dish came out wrong, not what she ordered (she ordered the amatriciana and the pistachio pesto with shrimp came out) With the time that we waited on the entree, just told them that we’d eat it. Food was good but the experience was soured by it. The bill came up with the pistachio pesto, just paid it since they were getting more guests and online orders and probably didn’t have the patience to resolve it. Maybe you will fare better.

The food was all wonderful and the staff were very attentive. Alfonzo our waiter was wonderful and we all had a great time. The Europeans in our group said it was some of the best pasta they had had outside of Italy. We were there with a large group and there was another large group, so it got a little loud, but I think that was mostly just the number of people. Will absolutely be back, if I lived nearby it would become a favorite.
