   I made a reservation at Chotto Matte on Wednesday for a party of 5, scheduled for today at 1:30 PM. I arrived on time, but when we were being seated, I noticed the table was only set for 4 people. I informed the server, and shortly after, the manager came to speak with us. To my surprise, the manager insisted that the original reservation was for 4 people, which is simply not true—I never modified or changed my booking. Instead of offering a solution, the manager placed the blame on us and said the only available table was on the patio. I had chosen this restaurant specifically to enjoy the unique atmosphere and show inside, especially to celebrate Mother’s Day. Being moved to the patio felt like a major letdown and defeated the purpose of the experience I had planned. The food service also added to our disappointment. One of our main dishes arrived after the rest of the group had already finished eating, which made the timing very poor. Our server was clearly overwhelmed but still tried her best to provide good service, and I do appreciate her efforts. Unfortunately, the manager’s handling of the situation was very unprofessional and unsupportive. Customer experience should be a priority, especially on special occasions like this. I don’t understand how someone with such poor people skills is managing the floor. Overall, this was a disappointing experience. I booked in advance to make the day special, but the atmosphere, service, and management left much to be desired.

   Best experience for club music with upbeat vibe to share with family and friends for celebration events! Service folks need to tend to tables and return to get more order details and needs. Food packages need to include the “upgrade” options and at least 1 drink for price for value. Instead of bottomless because no one really drinks that much at brunch you should have drunk pkg for 3 non alcoholic drinks add on for $10 more.

   Amazing experience as always. We loved the dinner. Great service, great food quality. Would definitely keep going.

   A few dishes were really good and I would definitely offered again like the lobster truffle, crispy rice salmon dish & octopus, but I wasn’t blown away overall based on all the dishes ordered for the price paid and portion size. Cocktails also didn’t wow me and seemed a bit watered down. Restaurant itself is beautiful and love the theme and decor. I personally could use a little more lighting in the washroom to see myself, but it’s a cool washroom concept nonetheless.

   While normally I’ve had a great experience. This one was sub par. We had to send back 2 dishes because they were charred (actually burnt). The incorrect wine was served to us. And it really took to the end of the night and the only person who really owned up to it was the Sr Sous Chef. No one else really took responsibility for an unpleasant night.

   I had a delightful dining experience, with attentive service and exceptional cuisine and cocktails. However, I felt that the Izumi Premium Plum Sake from Ontario Spring Water Sake Company was overpriced at $80, considering its retail price of $19.38 online and at the LCBO. Typically, restaurant markups range from two to three times the retail price, which would suggest a price point of $40-60. Nevertheless, the sake paired beautifully with our dessert, which was lovely. The final bill amounted to $405.11, with a total of $478.02 after adding an 18% gratuity

    Me and my friends were so delighted with the service, the food is good and it was well presented. We super enjoyed the jungled brunch theme! Highly recommended , its a total package !
