Tried a new restaurant out last night called, “Rae’s on the Beach” at The Pink Shell, and it was fantastic! Amazing service, flavorful Italian food, fresh seafood and gorgeous views of the ocean…it was worth the drive from the Cape!

Much better food than you would expect inside a resort. Definitely a place I would look to eat every time I was in Ft Myers Beach. The wine list could be expanded.

Rae's was "ok".... nice ambience, great view of the ocean... but they use the same kitchen, ingredients, and even some menu items as the other restaurant located downstairs. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but calling yourself "Real Italian" is just silly and somewhat of a misrepresentation of reality. My chicken parm was good, but it was standard run of the mill chicken parm that you'd get anywhere... including Olive Garden lol, including at the beach restaurant Bongo's located on the first floor.. not bad, but nothing impressive. The Cannoli with Pistachio however, was absolutely fantastic. I'd go back, but more so because there are limited options on site, and in the future would probably just eat at Bongos again.

The food was excellent. We had the lobster gnocchi appetizer special as well as the red snapper special with pesto risotto and chicken parm. I liked that they had gluten free options. Our server, Junior, was very friendly and informed us about several dishes. This was a birthday meal and we had reservations at the resort. We felt that they could have been a little more proactive about the occasion since they had the information but it wasn't a total dealbreaker. Overall it was a lovely meal and it was nice to enjoy the view as well.

Given that the restaurant is located in a hotel resort, reading, previous reviews that were , I would have to say the food is amazing. The service was amazing. when back in Fort Myers Beach, i’ll have to make another stop

Beef filet was cooked perfect and so tender. Meatball appetizer was delicious and so was the crab stuffed ravioli with lobster! Definitely recommend!

We have been members of the Pink Shell for a while now, and finally tried Rae’s. The meal was far beyond our expectations, and the addition of the fresh fish is a game changer! It was likely the best piece of snapper my wife and I have ever had, and that is saying a lot. The manager Michael is amazing, and the staff is friendly, efficient, helpful, and professional. Owing to the fresh fish they now get regularly we will be dining here often, and after eating in many establishments from Naples to Sarasota we can honestly say this easily the best fish dinner we have ever had. Kudos to Michael and the chef for creating something special at the Pink Shell. We sincerely hope they continue to allow this restaurant to establish itself as the place to go for the best fresh fish!!!
