While the food here is good, we had issues with the service. Specifically we brought, as our guest of honor, an elderly relative who was very thin from chemotherapy. We had a table reserved way in advance. When we arrived we were seated right by an open door through which there was a huge cold breeze. Our cousin was so cold his teeth were chattering. We asked twice (practically begged) if there was any way we could be moved further into the dining room and were refused in a rather brusk fashion. We ate our dinner, which was quite expensive, but could not really enjoy it because we all were cold and the guest of honor was freezing. I could not understand such poor guest relations. I had had the reservation for two weeks so it was not that they had just fit us in. I was really rather shocked and have not been back.

This is one of those legacy waterside places that exists mainly because of its location. Kitchen needs an update big time. Either go simple and serve great quality seafood without a lot of fuss, or get a visionary at the helm and come up with an innovative menu. As it stands this is like a mediocre hotel restaurant.

My wife and I wete there recently. We had a window table upstairs a little before dinner hour. It was very nice. We were one table set away from the bar which was quite full but it seemed like the noise was very reasonable. We both really liked what we had a the proportions were in line with our light eating habits.

The food at Ray's isn't bad, but it's so overpriced. It's not _that_ good, and knowing that, i never want to order the things that sound the nicest because i can't bring myself to pay what they are asking for a good enough but kind of ordinary meal. I always preferred the Shilsole Bay Anthony's, and being back at Ray's only made missing it more poignant.

Great views, location, food and cocktails. Went there initially for appetizers and drinks and stayed for the pan seared halibut and chowder. Highly recommend the food here. Such great flavors and lovely presentation. A must for Seattle visitors!!

Went this summer for dinner and sat on upstairs patio. Hadn't been for some time, but remember why I hadn't been back for so long. The view is unbeatable, but the food has gone so down hill we won't be coming back. Quality, preparation and taste all disappointing. Portion size remained significant, but not a good thing since not one of us finished our meal. Hope to see and hear about an improved food experience to bring us back.

Ray's knows what they are doing. They do fish really well and have slowly adopted new techniques, creative side dishes and updated menus over the many years. Ray's is a Seattle staple for a reason. Quality food in one of the most spectacular restaurant locations ever.

I was very disappointed in my dinner. The pasta that came with the sea scallops was totally wrong for scallops--a real failure on the chef's part and the worst pairing with scallops I've ever seen (and I order scallops a lot at good seafood restaurants). The dish was very overpriced for 3 scallops. I hadn't been to Ray's in years and now I think I don't need to go back. Service is outstanding, but the deciding factor is the food.
