   The food was ok but the service was terrible. It took forever to get our food.

   We had been to Lazia several years ago and couldn’t really remember the experience. Let’s start with the good. Great ambiance, unique main room, that was all good. Now on to the rest of the experience. We ordered drinks: house margarita that had an ice cube that might have taken 90% of the glass leaving a very small actual drink, my wife ordered a dirty martini with blue cheese olives. For a venue like this with large bar I would expect the ability to actually make a craft cocktail as ordered. Not so much .. no blue cheese olives. Wish they had them but still we moved on. Ordered two appetizers: The mussels and focaccia bread. The mussels (all 4 of them) were in a mix of some kind of spiced sausage that was so sodium laden it was hard to eat. Odd presentation and literally 4 mussels. The focaccia was so drenched in some garlic butter it also was an odd presentation. Neither something I would recommend or order again. Additionally, the appetizers came out one and then the second about 5 minutes later? On to entrees. My Son ordered the vodka pasta, my wife initially ordered the shrimp scampi but changed her order to the vodka pasta, I ordered a spinach, artichoke pasta. Order came and the waitress evidently didn’t hear the change of order and brought the wrong entree. My wife didn’t want to send it back but when she saw the pile of shrimp with an oil and crème sauce I knew she didn’t want it. I grabbed the manager, and she was actually very responsive and changed the order and brought out the vodka pasta.  The vodka pasta was OK, however, my artichoke spinach pasta was average at best. The manager was Responsive and I appreciated that to get the orders corrected. I have to say the entire experience was a real disappointment from the beginning to the end. Don’t think Lazia will be on our follow up schedule anytime soon.

I have shared your notes with our culinary and service teams so we can continue to work on improving the guest experience. The culinary team is always tweaking recipes and plating, and seems to have made some misses during your visit.    Overall the food was really tasteful and great! The flavor of everything was unique and tasty. Service and friendliness of everyone was also great. The only drawback of the night was the flow of food…too long in between each course but maybe we caught them on a busy night. We will definitely try again very soon.

   The food and staff was all wonderful! The drinks were tasty and strong. Unfortunately they no longer had the Mozzarella Cart! Only a few in the world, wish they would bring it back and be part of the KC unique dining experience

   Thank you for the five star review, Sean! While it's great to hear you enjoyed the drinks, food and staff, I can definitely understand your disappointment in the lack of mozzarella cart. Hopefully we will be bringing it back in the near future, and we do try to offer it occasionally when we are able so keep eyes on our social media for those days!

   I came for the table side mozzarella and sadly it was off the menu

   Hi Matt, sorry to hear that you were disappointed our tableside mozzarella is currently not on the menu. We are hoping to bring it back soon, as it was definitely a crowd favorite. We try to ensure our current menus are posted online, and use our social media platforms to announce when we will have the tableside mozzarella back on the menu. Hopefully you are able to make it in next time we have it!

   The food was excellent. Our server was attentive and enjoyable to talk with. As food was brought out, they described each ingredient. Great food and great service with attention to detail.

    I’m torn between wanting everyone on the planet to know about this place and hoping it remains an unassuming hidden gem. Kansas City is spoiled to have Lazia, a perfect intersection of creativity and undeniable delight. The spring menu is possibly one of the best works Chef Aaron has graced us with since he’s taken the reigns of executive chef, teasing out uncanny combinations and stretching the limits of Italian cuisine. Another meal with no skips, here’s our order: Spring Peas, Mussels, Doppio Ravioli, Creste De Gallo, Mint Chocolate Mousse Cake, Affogato.
