   For a Spanish tapas bar, we were disappointed that the food was under-seasoned and over-priced. The steak entree and the shrimp small plate were tame; the chorizo-stuffed dates were a highlight. Our server was excellent, very kind and attentive, aside from one minor detail: we weren't given steak knives when the entree came out. Not sure we'll be back -- there are better tapas places in Charlotte that are more flavorful, less expensive, or both.

   We picked the lunch option on Open Table which was not available because it is Memorial Day. Showed my app and they refused to honor our request. We ordered pan con tomat and they didn’t have any flake salt to put on it. It had NO salt at all. Tomatoes need salt. We ordered seafood paella and we got the mixta version that includes chicken. We will think long and hard before we got back.

   Quite a fee of the Tapa items on the me u were not available. Server was awesome, cocktails were great, and the Tapas that were available were great. Also we had a cilantro allergy in the party, and in spite of having told the crew about it (they asked when we sat down) we had to send 2 plates back that had cilantro. All in all the great service made up for any other issues.

   Food arrived before cocktails. Took 25 mins to get a drink. Food was good, but nothing exciting.

   Usually love my meals here, but today was terrible. Upon walking into the restaurant, we noticed that the roof was literally leaking—and they just placed a big plastic tub on top of a nearby table to catch the drops. Water was splattering around onto the floor, which was a real damper on our celebratory occasion. In addition, the “seasonal special” Huevos Rotos was majorly disappointing. For $14, we got a handful of grease-soaked fries with fried eggs and some mushroom. Not the quality of meal we were used to, which is a shame.

    Sad experience because I have liked Bulla in the past. Waited 15+ mins for water, 30+ mins to get a drink and appetizer. Limited menu with only a handful of food items. 88% sanitation score staring at you as you walk in the door. Staff had no “hustle” to get things done, everyone moved slowly. We made another reservation down the street, paid, and left. I got an email the next day that they said I no-showed the res. Crazy!
