Restaurant owner Carlos Centurion’s newest Bulla (boo-ya) Gastrobar location in SouthPark at 4310 Sharon Rd., Suite W01. Bulla Gastrobar joins the Charlotte community with a contemporary spin on traditional Spanish tapas, an imaginative cocktail program, and an energetic atmosphere with extensive indoor and outdoor seating.

Named after the Spanish slang term for “chatter,” Bulla Gastrobar offers a menu that boasts a mix of “alta cocina” and traditional approaches to tapas, featuring innovative techniques that are applied to classic recipes to yield modern yet authentic dishes.

    Ordered two appetizers only one came out before entrees. Octopus and shrimp were overcooked and tasteless. The patatas bravas were deep fried home fries! Avoid. I doubt anyone associated with that bull$hit restaurant has ever been to Spain. The only good thing was the noise level which was manageable because it was only half full. I suppose the word is out to the locals. I’m sure people go there because they were at the wonderful restaurant next door and thought (hoped) it would be good as well. Not even a little.

    I've frequently visited Bulla and there was a point where quality was not like the usual down to where food felt old and I had to stop going because I feared I would get sick. This recent time I can say that the quality is back and the service has improved. Staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable now and the drinks that I like have even significantly improved. It's apparent that the management at Bulla has made some difficult but necessary decisions. I can finally confidently say this is my chosen bar again and anyone who decides to try will not be disappointed.

    Ate at the bar during happy hour and Queens Feast. I love tapas, my partner is less of a fan…so I could get my small plates and he feasted on s as 3 course meal! Delicious, great servers, fun evening!

    Good restaurant but they need to work on their timing and delivery of the food and drinks. The tapas started showing up to the table well before any drinks, the tapas felt out of order, and after our initial glasses of wine we ordered a bottle of wine which ended up being a different vintage than what was advertised on the menu. Not a huge deal but when you are paying $130 for a bottle of wine that runs $50 in the local store around the corner, you expect to get what you are presented. Fortunately the vintage available was on par with the advertised vintage. The servers and the manager were very nice and were very understanding and accommodating when we asked them to slow down the delivery of the various tapas and other dishes we ordered. I would/will go again. 3 out of 5 stars overall but I could see a 4 or 4.5 with a little refinement.

    Overall a great experience! The food was amazing—especially the garlic shrimp, which I absolutely loved. The only small challenge was navigating the menu, as it’s mostly in Spanish. But the staff was helpful, and it was well worth it for the delicious flavors.

    We made a reservation for 0:45 and this appeared to have surprised the restaurant we were told they were closing and they didn’t see the reservation but we were allowed to eat. I’ve wanted to visit this restaurant for years and I enjoyed the gazpacho however I think the restaurant needs to not allow later reservations since it’ll interfere with their closing time and the experience of the restaurant. I’ll be back soon and hopefully have a full experience:)

    We have been to this location before so we are not sure why things were off during this visit. They weren’t busy but we had to wait for 15-20 minutes for our meals. My husband and I did the fixed prix option and each meal comes separately and we had to wait for another 10 minutes before my husband received his meal. The table next to us experienced the same thing. Everyone was done eating before his meal appeared. It made so sense because they weren’t busy. The server also disappeared for a long time as well. It wasn’t the best service but the meal was ok.
