Welcome to The Russian House NaZdorovye! We are the only Russian restaurant in Austin, authentic in its cuisine and decor. Russian House is finally open for dine-in service after quarantine. However, we would still like to be very cautious to make our guests feel safe. For that reason, reservations will be limited. Please, reserve your table in advance. If you still prefer food to go, we continue accepting pick-up orders through our official website as well. Our operation hours are SUN-THU 1pm-9pm; FRI-SAT 1pm- 9pm.

We made a reservation for our anniversary. We stood at the empty hostess stand for 6-7 minutes, with no one greeting us. We took a few steps forward towards the empty bar, again waiting another 6minutes. Nothing. Finally, a waiter passing by asked if we had been helped. When I told him we had a reservation, he looked suprised, and sat us at a table for two, brushing the crumbs on the floor. He swiftly left. And we sat. And sat. No one came by. No one got our drink order or food order, no one said ‘I’ll be right over’, NO ONE CAME!! For 18 minutes. We sat there!! Zero service. And it was SUPER loud. We were so disappointed, and were really anxious to try the food. We live 35 minutes away and never come downtown, and will most likely never be back. Awful. We had to quickly find another place to eat which wasn’t easy on a Fri night. Zero stars.

We have been going to The Russian House for several years. This visit marked a significant change in the quality of the food. Additionally, The Russian House no longer has a liquor license so we were not able to order drinks with our meal. We will not be returning in the foreseeable future.

There was no notification this was only a buffet until we arrived. The foods we had hoped for from the menu were not on buffett. The price for the buffett was really expensive compared to cost of their regular menu.

Went for Mother’s Day. There was nothing indicating there was a special buffet for Mother’s Day on the website. The food was set out at room temperature for hours. There is no way a food inspector wouldn’t have shut them down. For me, my wife and daughter is was $200. My daughter is 4 and barely eats anything. Such a waste of money.

We had visited a few years ago and the food was excellent. This visit the food had no flavor, felt like it had been heated up after sitting all day. Our waiter was wonderful but very sad to say the food was terrible. Not what it was in the past. I hope it will get better, fun place to enjoy dinner.

The complimentary vodka shots with the bread and sauerkraut is always a nice touch. We were a party of 9 and Igor was a great server. So happy the restaurant dropped "Russian" from its name in solidarity with the people of the Ukraine. This was my third visit to the House and I'll certainly be back.

I made an 11 AM reservation for an important pre-panel brunch with my company during SXSW for 8 people. Arrived there, and it was locked. No answer on the phone. Scrambling to find a replacement- my party includes the head of my company and several c-level execs. Around 11:30, we can see someone is opening up the place. I walk in, and they ask me to wait while they seat another party without a reservation Minutes pass....so I walk out. There is zero sense of urgency shown by the staff. We go somewhere else. I hope they get their S*it together for the sake of their business.

Great food, nice live music. They had TV noise which conflicted with the live music, so it was slightly distracting and conflicting. My only gripe was the illusive menu with a set 75$ price per person for Valentines Day. OpenTable had no description of this: the only details for Valentines Day was that the kitchen and bar was going to be open through 2am. The food we had was great, however, the fixed price was very hidden. The free champagne and dessert made up for it.

Valentine’s Day service was terrible - our server was great and amicable, but the kitchen was a disaster. He did the best he could. The food didn’t come out in order, and my main entree was cold. I’ve eaten here before, but Valentine’s Day was a disaster and not worth $75 a plate. I did enjoy the bottomless mimosas, though!

We had a Valentine's Day treat at Russian House. The food was fantastic. Our server was very knowledgeable, had a great accent, helped us order and was simply charming! The Khinkali was super yum!!! The lamb shank was terriffic!!! We will be back!

It didn’t seem that the business had our reservation. The manager asked to confirm my name a couple times. He went to the back dining area to “check that our table was ready.” Then a server put some silverware down at a long table in the front, and led us there. It wasn’t the nice place-setting tables they have in back, where I’ve been sat every other time we came. In the past, they have offered a shot of vodka before the meal. This didn’t happen. There weren’t any paper menus for those on our party that didn’t have phones. The food was good, though the portions were smaller than expected.

First timers with Russian food. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The ambiance was like at Grandma's house: warm and inviting. Loved the big selection of infused vodka's. Really fun and highly recommend the Holiday Duck Dinner, feels like a new tradition we need to incorporate for the festive season!

this was our second visit to the Russian House. it was not near the experience we had the first time. They made us move table after making a reservation, then had extremely slow service, as if they didn't want our business at all. The restaurant wasn't even half full...Our food came out in twenty minute increments, and no one seemed to care. He just said, "eh, we have too many orders". wishing we could have our first experience again, which was great. this time, not so much

Very disappointed with food quality. My dish was the last of the cabbage rolls and had zero sauce and was burned on the bottom. The fact the kitchen went that out and expected me to not notice is astounding. One person ordered schnitzel and it had no breading. Another ordered beef stroganoff and no egg noodles—instead it was rotini. The relish tray that they used to provide was slimmed down and had one green onion for six people. This place used to be one of our favorites but this trip was a disaster. Don’t know if it was an off night or if this is their new standard. The waiter felt bad but honestly the food situation isn’t the waitstaffs problem. Proceed with caution if you decide to go there.

Honestly I love Russian House. We have gone a number of times and recommend it to all of our friends. But this recent visit was terrible. And I truly think it was all because of our server. The servers are hit or miss for the most part. Some are fantastic, others are just average. But the server we had last night was honestly so rude. From the very first words he spoke to us, I could tell the evening was not going to be that fun. He was incredibly inattentive and spoke down to us. He even made a mistake that nobody cares about but he was so harsh to my friend and couldn’t just say sorry and own up to it. Nobody was rude to him either. It was such an awkward and uncomfortable experience. All of us felt that way. You could tell he didn’t want to be serving us. You could also barely get an order in. He would rush away so quickly and only checked on us a handful of times. It got to the point where my table started going to the bar directly for drinks because this guy was forgetting things and taking forever. This whole experience really put me off of going for a while. I know it didn’t leave a good impression on my friends who had never been there before. We go because it’s an experience and the staff are typically super social and helpful. But this… honestly this review is not doing how bad the service was justice.

Atmosphere is great! Service is excellent, very friendly staff. Food was hit or miss. The Dumplings were excellent ( lamb version and beef and pork version). The mains were mediocre ( we all had some sort of tandoori grill plate ). We had ice cream and 3 different type of cakes, with the honey cake as the standout. Would return
