   My wife and I with friends have enjoyed the Thanksgiving brunch at La Torretta in the past. This time we went and the food quality was less than expected, perhaps due to the fact we arrived later than usual, but still a disappointment. The staff was still very good and service was exceptional.

   I drove 7 hours to spend Thanksgiving with my mother. I wanted to treat her to a nice Thanksgiving meal so that she could relax and not have to cook. I was VERY disappointed in our Thanksgiving Dinner at La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa. Many of the "hot" food items were cold, some even under cooked, the displays were poorly all labeled (such as the salad dressings, I served myself what I thought was ranch on my salad only to taste it at the table and find out it was blue cheese, to which I am allergic to), the cheeses that were served were not labeled, the deserts were not labeled, the cheese display was quite empty and messy and the desert trays were quite empty. My biggest disappointment was at the meat table, when the servers weren't serving meat they were standing around talking, touching other things with gloves on and then cutting the meat and serving it with the very gloved hands that they had touched other areas and each other with. Lastly, it would have been nice if the waiter would have directed us to where each table was set up, we had no idea there was an omelette table. I was very disappointed in the experience and the cost incurred.

   I needed a dining location for our family of 7 for Thanksgiving. I'd never eaten at 157 Restaurant before but it turned out to be perfect. The selection was large enough that the picky eaters in our family were able to find enough to fill them up. The food was high quality and the view was lovely. I would certainly recommend this place for holiday dining, particularly when you have a large group.

   My family and I were very happy with the variety of food--especially the seafood. We are already considering returning. The staff was wonderful, also; very efficient and pleasant.

   After receiving a confirmation number via e-mail, when arriving to the restaurant, there were signs on the door stating they were closed for a private event. The manager, Francis, initially said there was nothing she could do, and suggested we eat in the buffet restaurant on the property, which was not acceptable. It was my boyfriend's birthday, and I had a special evening planned for him. Eating buffet-style dinner was absolutely NOT apart of my plan! After making some calls, France's agreed to comp the cost of our dinner from the resort in-room menu, and I will say, we were treated very well by the staff. The ambiance wasn't the same as it would have been in the actual restaurant, but Francis OWNED the reservation error, and ensured my boyfriend and I were well taken care of. I cannot really rate the restaurant food because I never had the opportunity to try it, but I am open to visiting the resort again in the future, and eating there. Thanks to Francis for salvaging our evening.

   24.00 buffet with 3 protein choices. Had to wait for refills 5-10 minutes. The check took 10 minutes to get to me. I will not be back.

   The staff was very professional, in particular Sherry, who worked the breakfast and lunch period. I asked my sister, nephew and good friend for lunch. My sister and her son, got lost and were 45 minutes late, just prior to closing for lunch. My sister has special health needs. Sherry did everything possible to find something for my sister to eat, plus make this dining experience pleasant. Sherry is an wonderful asset to your restaurant.

   Was not impressed with the dinner buffet. The food had dried out and was not very tasty. We were told by our waitress that the restaurant preferred you eat the buffet and not order off the menu. She also told us that the service charge on the bill (tip) was just for the cooks and people in the back. I was told by the waitress the next morning that it was for all workers including waitresses. The waitress the next morning was surly and not very attentive.

   The mothers day brunch was fantastic, the food was amazing. The only complaint would be that we kept having to ask to have our plates taken away, and for refills. At almost $40 a person, and in a space that was not crowded at all I would expect more prompt service.
