Please note when booking: Lunch at Lemaire ends at 2pm. From 2pm-5pm we offer a lounge menu. Full dinner starts at 5pm.

New American restaurant and bar that is inspired by the agricultural and coastal traditions and bounty of Virginia. Lemaire delivers the quality and service The Jefferson Hotel is known for, but in an accessible format without the pretense, formality or expense!

Complimentary self-parking is available in both the Adams Street and Main Street lots. Valet parking is $18/car

For special requests (cake, flowers, etc) guests must contact Lemaire directly.

Tables are held for 15 minutes.

Separate checks are not available for parties of six or more. A 20% gratuity will automatically be applies for parties of six or more.

Table/seating requests are noted but not guaranteed.

            This place is historic— service was great — but the food left me confused as I expected a culinary master piece .. it was just ok. I have had better steaks at chain restaurants . Oysters were great.. but just was not worth what I paid for dinner. It’s a must to see it again as a historic landmark.. but not for meals.

            There was a marked difference from what it was before Covid and now. Food quality needs improvement . Bread was served cold. Menu options and taste were not as good as before. Service quality at the table needs improvement. Waiter was not so attentive because he provided the plates for our appetizers after we have started eating them using our bread plate. I really missed my dining experience from before. It's no longer a special restaurant for me.

            My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. The wait staff were attentive and courteous. Our meal was excellent though somewhat pricey.

            Our tradition is to celebrate our anniversary at Lemaire. Yesterday was our 49th anniversary. We are looking forward to 50 next year
