   Well blended flavors, bringing a unique touch to/ inspiration to Latin fusion. Excellent drinks—habanero bitters in their take on the old fashioned was absolutely brilliant!

   We had the chance to try Toro during Chicago Gourmet so we had a night in the city and booked right away. Our server experience was well below average with Joe. He was inattentive and didn’t seem really comfortable working. At one point while my wife was ordering Joe actually put his finger up and said “hush” to my wife. We were flabbergasted but could see he was razzled during his shift so left it alone. As for the food, we only made it through appetizers as the food was bland and not seasoned. Left nearly all of it and went on our way. It was a rather cold overall experience and we will not return.

   We were very excited to try this restaurant. The appetizers came out first and the grilled octopus was cold. The other food we tried was also not great. We did not experience the best service. Our server did not check on us. We wanted more alcoholic beverages but he did not come back. I needed more water but again he did not come back. We also asked him for a desert menu and it was never brought to us so we went for ice cream at another place.

   Our waitress Holly was so awesome! Kind, knew the menu, made awesome recommendations, kept drinks full. Quick service, awesome presentation! Delicious food, amazing drinks, awesome ambiance.

    The food was really good overall. The ambiance is nice and I love the colors. There were a few things I wanted to order that the restaurant was out of. It wasn’t particularly busy and the staff weren’t attentive. The hostess staff were really nice though. I kept having to look for someone for a water refill or to ask for things repeatedly like the check or to go cutlery(which I actually never received). I thought this was a fine dining restaurant? Our waiter was attentive to the table next to us. That’s the only reason I noticed a difference. It wasn’t the same across the board.
