I came here to celebrate my birthday tonight with my partner and a group of friends. I really wanted this dinner to be special. I want to start off by saying I am not someone who complains to the staff or writes a review. I am the type of person who just won’t come back after a bad experience. I work in customer service, have been a hostess and a server in the past, so I just don’t do that. This is my first time ever writing a review and my second time ever complaining to the staff. It was especially disappointing because I told them it was a birthday celebration while making the reservation. The service and food at this restaurant was absolutely horrible. The only thing that saved the night was the kind manager and the positive attitudes of my friends. We were repeatedly ignored by our server after trying to wave her down for an hour. Our orders were not taken until over an hour into our reservation (and it was only because I managed to catch her glance and wave her over). We didn’t get our mains until 2 and half hours into our reservation. I had to ask three times about our mains (they definitely forgot about us/didn't care until I spoke to the manager). Yes, our main server was ignoring us, but didn’t have nearly the same terrible attitude as the other server helping out. She was beyond rude. When asked about our mains the first time she said just a few more minutes. Then i had asked the manager the second time and he said they would be ready soon just a few more minutes. She came back to fill our water about 25 minutes later and I asked again. This was when she rolled her eyes and replied roughly 10 minutes. Everytime we replied thank you as well we were met with cold silence. As for the food it was honestly some of the most disgusting food I have ever had at a place. I eat all over the GTA and I love eating downtown because of the higher standard it is held to. The server said they didn’t have the original dish I ordered. Me, my boyfriend and my friend

Ambience and the service were amazing. The oysters and pan-seared scallops were absolutely delicious.

The food was great but the service, ambience and value for money are lacking. Restaurant could benefit from better decor, having a functioning bar, and improved service.

The patio is great! It’s a lovely respite in the middle of the city. The issue was with service. It seemed like the servers weren’t communicating with each other. One would ask us if we wanted more drinks after another server already took our order. It took over 25 minutes each time we ordered a drink. Once they get the service polished up I think this place would be great! Also, didn’t love that downstairs is $1 oysters and upstairs you have to pay $2. It just seemed like a lot of extra money for the oysters to have an elevator ride.

The restaurant is very simple- chairs a bit low for the table height - such a basic thing for designers to check. We were expecting much more interesting food, especially for the prices. The arctic char excited us and arrived as a tiny piece of overcooked dry fish. A pork chop teetering on overcooked sliced up and barely any sauce, we had a pasta dish with bursts - again so disinteresting and overpriced. All of the sides were basic and they were out of the pomme purée - who runs out of potatoes?? $17 for 7 spears of buttered asparagus?! The risotto had corn in it and needed to be cooked for 5 more minutes - it was runny and the corn was dreadful. They don’t offer shareable appetizers - slices of sour dough bread with an olive oil drizzle is lazy. The menu prices from opening to now have increased significantly. The wine list by the glass/bottle is mostly Niagara Region- I have no idea who actually wants Ontario wines at a huge markup. I had to pour our 4 glasses as the server rarely came by. The washrooms are downstairs and look like you’re in an Asian nail salon with unusual tulip chairs, amd things stored everywhere; and if you happen to use the elevator coming up you end up outside!! The place has potential, but it’s not well executed and way overpriced for what they’re serving. It’s a try once type place, if at all . In a city with so many great restaurants and chefs , we would not recommend.
