Enjoy unapologetically authentic Thai food in the East End. All food is made from scratch by native Thai chef and James Beard Award winner for Best Chef: Texas Benchawan Jabthong Painter.

Chef Benchawan and her husband—who also spend time in their Bangkok home each year—have painstakingly built out a restaurant that would fit into Bangkok’s hip Thong Lor neighborhood, but they have located it in Houston. Expect trendy Thai vibes, music, strong cocktails and an adventurous wine list to accompany Chef Benchawan’s acclaimed dishes.

When booking your reservation, all children—regardless of age—must be included in the head count. The largest party Street to Kitchen can accommodate is 6 people.     I have really been looking forward to dining at Street to Kitchen and it did not disappoint. The food was outstanding. Our server was extremely knowledgeable regarding the menu and spice levels of the food. Atmosphere was energetic and fun. I highly recommend Street to Kitchen and will be returning.

    Delicious, interesting food. Knowledgeable staff and passionate owners. Excellent service. Street to Kitchen epitomizes what a culinary experience should be. The acclaim is more than justified. As the kids say, this place “slaps!”

    Fantastic service, we loved the steak, lamb shank, chive cakes, drunken noodles, green beans, papaya salad, and the mango sticky rice!!! All delicious

    Clearly authentic, delicious Thai flavors. Welcoming as you enter the restaurant. Very good, friendly service, you can tell that everyone is attentive to every table's needs. Nice ambiance, good offerings in the wine list to match spicy foods. The green salad with fried eggs and veggies were excellent. The sauce of the tiger prawns was extraordinary but the prawns were not done well at all. It was a major disappointment to have to eat over-fried prawns to the point you couldn't tell you were eating prawns. Also, we've never had a Pad Thai in Thailand as sweet as the one we had here. Having been to Thailand several times and eaten at street stalls, regular and upscale restaurants, we can most definitely state that being authentic Thai does NOT mean that the kitchen will refuse to tone down the heat of the food, that's simple arrogance. There's no SINGLE heat point as the chef might want you to believe. This arrogance does not bear well for the continued success of this restaurant, and that would be a shame.
