About this restaurant

  • Innovative
  • Romantic
  • Good for special occasions
Peche. In French, "pêché" means "catch." Inspired by trips to Spain and Uruguay, Peche will focus on seafood cooked over an open wood fire. Diners can watch as the seafood, along with meats and vegetables, cooks over the flames. The dishes, though, will still be rooted in Louisiana. The restaurant is a partnership between chefs Donald Link (Herbsaint, Cochon), Stephen Stryjewski (Cochon) and Ryan Prewitt, although Prewitt will have primary authority over the new kitchen.
Housed in a restored 19th-century building, Peche will share the modern aesthetic of Cochon. According to the Link Restaurant Group, the restaurant will have "high, pickled-wood ceilings; large, soaring windows; a thick-topped Cypress bar; and a marble top oyster bar."

We had the most delicious meal at Peche on our New Orleans vacation about 3 weeks ago. The best fish we've ever (baked drum fish) had and best Key Lime pie! But more importantly, our server, Heather, was beyond amazing! She recommended dishes based on what we like to eat and she was so attentive and really just an above and beyond server. Her professionalism was memorable and of course, she was personable and charming. We loved loved loved the experience at Peche!

This was our second time at Peche and it was even better than the first time! We live in Wisconsin but make it a point to visit Peche when we are down in New Orleans. The shrimp roll is absolutely amazing and the seafood platter did not disappoint! We will be back for certain!

One of the biggest disappointments in a long time. Chef put so much salt into some of the dishes that they needed to be sent back to the kitchen. They failed to remove charges for failed dishes from final bill.

The best steak tartare I've ever had. The whole fish was fresh and the brussels sprouts excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant

Second visit, second awesome experience. Only complaint is the noise level. Difficult to have conversations.

When you walk in to the restaurant 2 James Beard Awards look down on you from behind the bar. One is hard enough to get but two is a rarity. I my option they themselves are setting the standard very high in all aspects. The dinner was very rushed by our server and gave of the vide the it was the end of a long night and we want to leave. The food was rush and was lacking finesse and looked as if it was cooked by a first year culinary student. Items were overcooked and were dried out. I would expect a whole lot more form a restaurant of this caliber.

The smoked tuna appetizer and the whole grilled fish. Those two will always be winners in my book. It was a great meal.
