Excellent food and wonderful staff!
My fiancé and I have visited here twice now. I am not exaggerating when I say it is the best food you will ever eat. It’s that kind of place that when you take a bite you want to savor it and hope you don’t run out any time soon. The service is also excellent. Our meal didn’t feel rushed and the staff was extremely knowledgeable about the food. I can’t wait to go back again!
We had a very relaxing evening with another couple. You need to be prepared for a 2 hour experience. They do believe in European style service, slow and leisurely. The service was excellent but would of appreciated a little faster service. Food was almost a 5 star, very gourmet. I had duck a la orange, and besides the ones I have had in Paris, one of the best. The pork shop was excellent. Being a bit of a food snob and cook, I felt like the special of rack of lamb was not as good as what I prepare, but hard for rack of lamb not to be great, so very good.
Reunion of friends from law school. The third time for this occasion
For a special dining experience, the Renaissance is great food, good service and a real couples atmosphere for a decent price
As always, the service was superb. Our waitress was attentive, quick, knowledgeable and ever helpful. Over the years, the menu has changed at the Renaissance, and always for the better. Selections are varied, imaginative, even adventurous - and seasoned perfectly. The food never disappoints. It is a delight to dine at the Renaissance, among the best restaurants in this part of the country.
We took relatives there for their first time! They were very impressed! Adrienne outdid herself in the kitchen! Food was delicious! Angelo was a very attentive waiter! It was so enjoyable to interact with Adrienne, Doug, and Angelo throughout the evening! We were there for three hours and they made the evening so very enjoyable! All the courses, wine, and dessert were each a highlight of the evening! Thank you for making our evening so very special! Our sister and brother-in-law were very impressed and enjoyed the evening greatly! Called it a very unique cafe; well worth visiting! Which we knew and totally agreed!
Another amazing dinner last night. I had the swordfish special with grilled caesar salad. Hubby had the duck gorgonzola cannelloni with the warm quinoa salad. We split the hazelnut cheesecake for dessert. Service was awesome. Very relaxing atmosphere. Best restaurant in central Kansas by a long shot. Looking forward to their special Valentine's dinner menu!
Everything excellent—but much too long a wait between ordering and receiving our food, even though we were among the first to arrive. If that happens again we won't be back.
Never a disappointment. Outstanding service that treats your group like old friends. A favorite choice for great Dining experiences
Always love the fantastic food and the staff. Great place for a special occasion.
I would recommend them to a friend but they had a bad night with us. My main course of pork cordon blue was very good but my wife’s salmon was very heavy and did not shine. Our server was very pleasant but they were having obvious problems in the kitchen. There is no other place to have this type of a meal in Salina and we will give them another chance.
We love coming to the Renaissance Cafe. Always good food, wonderful service, excellent for a special time. Thank you to everyone for helping us celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We always tell people how special the Cafe is. Keep up the wonderful job you all do. Kenny and Lee
Amazing place to eat at. Excellent service and the food was amazing and locally sourced. It was so good, I got full from the appetizer.
First timers to Renaissance Cafe and it didn’t disappoint. Wait-staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely a place we’ll go back to!
Our dining experience was wonderful! Each course was eagerly anticipated and each proved to live up to our expectations! Adrienne was gracious as always! We were treated as though she was waiting on just us! Her recommendations were right on and made our meal extra enjoyable! Thank you fir a special way to celebrate my birthday!
The food was sensational. It was just a tad bit cold. The service was more in line of what you would expect in Europe. It is designed to be a place where you spend quite a bit of time at the restaurant for your meal. There is nothing wrong with that, I am merely expressing that is is not casual dining where you get in and get out quickly. I visit several times a year and consider it one of the better restaurant in our area.
Went at 5:45. Loved eating when they are not so busy.
Loved it. Best restaurant in the state of Kansas!
My friends birthday. She lives in Salina. We live in Arizona.
We had a delightful evening with friends! Adrianne was lovely as always! We ask for her every time! Can’t wait till our next visit!
We absolutely love everything about this place. It is the best restaurant in the entire state in our opinion.
It is a centrally located area for our friends and family to meet and we have the table for the whole evening. There is no rush, which we enjoy.
What a hidden gem just outside of Salina, KS! A must if you’re headed that way or looking for something different outside of Wichita. The wine pairing was a very nice touch as well.
Excellent lamb special, lobster fondue with crostini numm! Always delightful personalized gourmet experience in the heart of Kansas— thank you Doug and Angelo!
It took a while to get any attention. Once our waitress came over, she was very helpful! The caesar salad was very good, the other salads needed more dressing. The gnocchi was very tasty! The white sauces were bland. Overall, a nice experience. The menu on Opentable does not do the actual menu any justice.
A wonderful server. Thank you, Casey!
Food was delicious.
my main disappointment is that i have raved about the tuna steak and it was removed from the menu. It was for my Birthday dinner and therefore super excited and not as impressed with what i had.
Two of us had the special. It was very dry. The soup was good. Wine was delicious. Crab meat add on was cheap canned crab. Waitress, who we think had some ownership, had an attitude. She took the experience down. Facility was very cool.
There is no place in the surrounding area that comes close to providing the dining experience a person will have at Renaissance Café. Atmosphere is subdued, and just dark enough. Hosts are always top notch. If you have made a reservation, so that they are expecting you, there is usually an amuse bouche sitting at each place setting when you sit down. Servers are well-informed, knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list. Menu changes often enough to provide variety for those who visit often. Two visits ago we had a panzanella salad with gorgeous heirloom tomato and sourdough croutons. This time we had a grilled Caesar salad that was interesting to look at, and delicious. We asked the server to tell us more about how it was made and she knew every detail. A foodie's dream server. She also recommended a perfect Willamette Valley Pinot Noir to pair with dinner. One of my favorite treats here is the pallet cleansing sorbet they serve between courses. This time was one of the best--lemon cream. I mean, c'mon...! I've never had an entree there that wasn't exceptional. Last night was scallops with creamy polenta and kind of a maceration of berries. Delicious. And dessert never disappoint either. My parents had a vanilla bean gelato that came with a "diner's choice" list of digestifs to pour over it. Mom opted for amaretto; Dad for Bailey's. In short, (or not so short) Renaissance Café is the most outstanding dining experience I have found within 90 miles of the Salina area.
The best restaurant in Kansas ever!! Excellent service
Every time we go to renaissance cafe we have an amazing experience! Attention to detail and five star dining. This is our favorite place!
The bison short ribs were delectable! So tender and delicious. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly without being pretentious. The gouda/cauliflower soup was okay, the flavor was good, but the consistency was too thin for our liking. Overall, a very good dinner.
The entire experience was absolutely wonderful! We have recently moved to Salina from KC and it is a KC cuisine and dining experience without breaking the bank. I do feel they set up the meal to last at least 2 hours, so don’t expect a quick dinner and out, but rather make sure you have the time to sit down and enjoy the food and experience. We certainly plan to make this spot a regular for us.
Nice surprise. Much better than we expected it to be
Have had the Tuna, king salmon, and filet all excellent. This would be a great restaurant in Kansas City. Nice surprise near Salina.
The waitstaff was very busy but very professional and let us know that they appreciated our patience.
We really enjoy the atmosphere and getting to take our time during the meal. We enjoy dining when the restaurant doesn't rush us...and this is a great place to get just that.
I applaud you all on making it a personal and unique experience.
We will be back very soon!
We had a wonderful dining experience! Perfect evening with exceptional food and service.
Perfectly prepared dishes and excellent cocktail and wine service in an old brick school building in a tiny Kansas town.
This restaurant never disappoints! The food and service is the best anywhere around here and beyond.
