Service was unpolished, obtrusive and unprofessional. We were served an appetizer and waited 15 minutes for silverware, during which time the shrimp cooled and wasn't good. My husband ordered an old fashioned at 7 p.m. and in the 2.5 hours we sat at our table the server never again asked if he wanted another one. Server constantly interrupted conversation to attempt to clear empty glasses and dirty plates. If a glass is empty just clear it! No need to rudely break in saying "excuse me excuse me." We had $200 in gift cards and it was total confusion. Our bill was $202 and the server couldn't figure out why we'd want to use gift cards and put the remaining balance on our Visa. We were paying for another couple and it was so uncomfortable to have to give the server a math lesson with our guests sitting there awkwardly. To top it off, we were in a booth near the mall entrance so were in a traffic lane of shoppers in and out. Ambiance is terrible, I'd return to the EP location but the Ridgedale location makes you feel like you're at Chipotle with all the traffic and crying kids.
I think Redstone needs to do better at Gluten Free - such a big opportunity for them to expand in this area. Lettuce wraps have changed... too spicy.
You had an Ahi Salad last summer that was SO awesome but very short run - was only able to have once and it was gone.
Love Redstone but not a lot of options for me.
Booked reservations in advance for a special occasion and was disappointed to wait for our table, when seated we were placed at a four top with 5 people, and the ambiance was kinda off putting. Food and service were very good. But the music didn’t fit - like the music had no point of view. A very odd mixture of everything.
My takeaway is that it felt like big, upscale mall dining experience with an ambiance that was trying to please everyone and as a result lost itself in the end.
We stopped into Redstone on a whim and we are glad we did. Our service was initially slow due to high volume and a shift change, but the recovery was amazing. The server made sure we were happy with the service, and was appropriately attentive with great timing. The manager was warm and friendly. Food was outstanding! Save room for the banana cream pie!
We had a couple of good meals there in the past and wanted to celebrate there on New Years day because we couldn't go out the night before. Every aspect of the experience was sub par, especially given the $145 I spent. The service was awful, the food was barely warm, and it took about 15 minutes for my wine to arrive. Had this been another time I would have complained vigorously to the manager but decided otherwise. I'll never go there again.
New Years Eve - very busy - we were seated timely... they need to use the mall entrance only on these cold and frigid nights... the bar area and reception desk was subject to constant blasts of ice cold air... use the mall entrance only or build a temporary protective area to keep the swirling north wind from potentially spoiling the night out...
We had brunch on New Year's Eve morning with our children and grandchildren. The service was outstanding, but the food was very so-so. Two of us ordered eggs benedict. The eggs were overcooked, the toasted bagette was hard to cut, and the hashbrowns were underdone. We have eaten at Redstone for lunches and dinners before and always been pleased, but we would not return here for brunch.
We had a reservation and still had to wait 30 minutes in Minnetonka...ugh!!
The last time we went to Redstone in Eden Prairie, the server spilled Diet Coke all over me (winter coat, clothes, etc). The server apologized. I thought I might at least get a free pop to cover some of my cost for dry cleaning...but NOPE!! No discount whatsoever.
While the location used to be awesome when it was next to YMCA it’s changed drastically since the merger with the mall. I specifically ordered my fillet rare knowing most restaurants will over cook meat.. this fillet mignon was tough dry and over salted . Not bad service but based on food experience I more than likely wouldn’t go back . I politely told the manager but still paid for my food as it’s the right thing to do.
I have been to Redstone many times in the last few months and the food has always been excellent. Unfortunately the filet mignon for $44 I had last night was overdone and very dry. Not what I have come to expect there. Next time i think we will try somewhere else.
The food was excellent. I would have given Service an excellent rating except a server brought an incorrect salad to the table and we had to wait an additional 10-15 minutes before the correct salad and other starters arrived. The lighting was too low for me.
