    Cold food at both breakfast and dinner, pear salad that has literally two slices of pear in it, thoroughly underwhelming. It’s a real shame because the hotel itself is great and the staff are mostly lovely.

    Had the chef tasting menu, which was a great deal and gave us the opportunity to sample smaller sizes of several dishes. Particularly enjoyed the ricotta, scallop, and flourless chocolate cake (which was light and fudgey). The vanilla bean halibut was cooked to perfection but didn’t have much of the anticipated vanilla flavor. Our waiter, Allen, was very personable and even taught us the backstory about the black forbidden rice!

    We stayed at Ko’a Kea for 8 days and ate breakfast at Red Salt every morning and we had dinner here a few times as well. The food did not disappoint once! Every single thing we ordered was delicious, the service was always so attentive and kind. They remembered us by name and always made us feel welcome. I can not recommend Red Salt enough. It is alittle pricey but you absolutely get what you pay for. The food is phenomenal and we were always so excited to eat there. Love love loved it!
