Red Rocks Cafe - Birkdale Village
The Thanksgiving dinner came with pumpkin pie but the waitress brought our check before the pie and had to flag her down asking about the pie. She then said do you want it to go ans brought 2 pieces in a to go container. Very lousy service for the amount charged. Definitely was not as good as prior visits.
This was our first time there thought it was wonderful we will be back for the full menu soon.
Menu with good variety. The food was prepared as ordered and very good as was the service. As popular as Red Rocks is, the noise level is quieter than most comparable restaurants. The prices are really reasonable, too.
We came to celebrate a milestone birthday, and an early Christmas with friends. The server was outstanding, and made it extra special writing happy birthday on the dessert plate. Always a good meal and service.
As always, Red Rocks Cafe- Birkdale Village did not disappoint. Quiet enough to hold conversations but lively enough that we knew there was energy around. From appetizer to desert, the quality was top notch and met our expectations.
Had a great dinner at Red Rock's. Lots of choices, good prices, and great service. Highly recommend.
CharlesC, Thank you so much for the amazing recommendation! We hope to see you again soon!
Service and food never disappoint. We did have to wait after our reservation time to be seated, but they were unusually busy this evening compared to other times we've dined here. I can't wait to return.
The music was way to loud and the lights were to dim.
Great food and service as always!
Food was excellent, atmosphere great, server was not friendly, and very abrupt when asked a question.
We went to Red ROCKS for an anniversary and it was an interesting evening. First we requested a table outside and they couldn't accommodate. Bummer because i made the reservation before noon and even called well before we arrived. Why bother putting it into a reservation if they are not going to look at it anyway.
Ok after we got seated in a nice area of the dining room, the ambience is lets say colder. Our waiter Cassius was terrific and professional and tried to hide the bars issues, like not knowing how to make an Arnold Palmer really, lemonade and ice tea, pretty freaking easy, John Dalys have vodka, and so it went, I got ice tea, unsweetened yuck!
Dinner was nothing fantastic but nothing to remember as in this case I don't, they were very nice to bring a piece of cheese cake on the house for desert. Nothing stands out positive and/or negative. Oh wait the salad bowls were cool, I think dinner as well as my review might have been better if we had eaten outside like I asked to.
First time. Loved it. A little too dark inside for me. Hard to see the menu. Glad I had my glasses. Lol. Overall, great time.
We celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary during this visit. The restaurant hostess (Renee) came by our table and chatted with us. Very pleasant and look forward to returning for another superb dining experience.
Great she crab soup and chopped salad!
Nice evening on outside patio. Good service and attentive staff.
We were able to eat on the patio. The service was great, food excellent and dessert was perfect.
We went for our anniversary and had a wonderful experience. The food was amazing and our waiter Cassius was terrific. We sat outside and enjoyed the people and car watching. We always know we’re going to have a really good experience at Red Rocks, it’s a bit on the pricy side, but the quality of the food is worth every penny.
Great 👍 food. Excellent service and good bang for the buck !!
Very noisy inside, little social distancing. Masks were often removed to speak, service was slow. Food was acceptable, portion sizes were good.
Great as always. We love Kaitlyn.
Food and service are always outstanding!
Was great food was good great time
My husbands medallions were over cooked
Cajun salmon was fantastic.
The service and ambience was good but the food was just ok. The calamari could use some better sauce other than that bland tomato sauce. One thing that bother me was the server brought the wrong food to our table. I put my fork in the salad (which I had used earlier for my calamari), then the server realized it wasn't our food so she picked it up, apologized and it gave it to the table beside us because It was very similar to ours. She should have gotten them a new salad since my fork was in the sald.
We had been here before and ate on the patio with family and it was a really great experience - the apps- the food - the drinks were very delicious and special. We were so happy we wanted to go here again. It was goi g to be a special dinner ... but no.
This time we were inside, with loud canned music and an ambience that was more like Friday’s. Food was okay. Cabernet was ice cold. We had a reservation but we we ushered to a very poor table choice - watching all of the traffic from the kitchen. So very disappointed! Server was very attentive and friendly, the only redeeming part of the experience.
I was very disappointed by this visit and I will question going to Red Recks again. But I really think RR can do better for all guests in all venues in the restaurant.

Very nice restaurant. Food was amazing. It is on the pricier side but food was worth it. Chocolate cake was amazing !!!
Very busy. Didn’t get our bread. Will return again sometime.
Our waitress was very attentive and professional and the food was good.
However, one of the servers who delivered the food was cursing using inappropriate language without regard for the setting and the customers.
The location of the restaurant is great and the outdoor seating area looked perfect for warm nights, although that’s not where we sat. The waitress was very friendly and kind even though it was very busy. It seemed like a very fun restaurant but we were kind of in the back in a corner so I couldn’t see much of anything. I ordered the blackened grouper which I was very excited about because I love grouper. The fish seemed adequate but not great and definitely not big enough to be worth the price. Honestly, the best thing on the plate was the rice.
Not the same quality of food we’ve come to expect of the years.
Food was awesome as usual .Drinks great!!Our waitress was very sweet and helpful. Can't remember her name .Going back this week!!My only complaint would be ;for the price of long pour wine ,it should be a tad more .Thanks Much.
We had Thanksgiving dinner there yesterday. I think it was the most delicious meal I’ve had in a long time. We were all thrilled with our service and dinner. CoVid precautions were taken and enforced. My coconut cake was heavenly. I wish I could remember our server’s name-Minnie? MeMe?-was delightful and very attentive. We left her a super nice tip for her kindness to us.
Outstanding meal and service!
Food made our stomachs hurt afterwards.
We sat in a side/auxiliary room (to the left as you walk in the main door) that has very little atmosphere, comfortable but nothing great. Our server, Brittney, was very nice and efficient. The food was good enough to come back (fried calamari is tender, albeit a little salty and breading would have been better if lighter. The peppered tuna appetizer was good. The regular menu salmon was dry (we were not asked how we wanted it cooked).
HI Mary, Thank you for dining with us! So glad to hear you enjoyed the apps. With the exception of the Tuna, all of our seafood items are cooked Medium Well but for the Salmon dishes you can always request medium. I am sorry to hear it was not to your liking on your last visit. We hope to see you again soon. Red Rocks
Great meal, as always!
The Cajun Salmon was wonderful!! I will order it again!
Overall a great experience but a little loud so hard to chat over our meal. We will Definitely be back though!
It's been a while since I've been to Red Rocks but it was a convenient place to meet someone for lunch. We ordered 3 appetizers to split. The sizes were decent but too expensive in my opinion. I found the calamari to be tough and the breading to be way too much. You really couldn't tell you were eating calamari at all. The tuna and avocado was decent but needed to be chilled more. The queso spinach dip was pretty good. If I were to order anything again, that would be it. Our server, Logan, was incredible and very attentive. It's just a shame that Red Rocks forces their employees to wear black, long-sleeve button downs on an incredibly hot day because they don't like tattoos on their employees. I don't think I'll return any time soon.
Love Red Rocks! Ron and his team are simply the best in the Charlotte area! Locally owned and truly something for everyone!
