Service was terrible and it was not busy. Took 25 minutes for drinks, had to ask for bread and plates were sitting waiting to be cleared throughout meal. Also the waiter said the crab legs were precut and would involve little work. They are barely cut and the price you would expect them to be halved. Disappointing experience in general. Spend your $200 somewhere else.
Always an amazing experience. We look forward to our next culinary adventure to Rays!
Glad we picked Ray’s for great seafood. The King Crab legs were out of this world. Worth the drive from downtown Seattle.
I brought my wife here for our anniversary and had a great time. The service couldn't have been better; our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and friendly. The staff recognized that it was our anniversary and included a nice note for our table. All the food was top notch. I highly recommend Ray's for a special occasion or an upscale dinner.
The food was good and was presented very well.
The service was very good and our waiter was very personable.
First time dining at Ray's and had a great time. Food, service both outstanding. Look forward to my next visit. Thanks!
We arrived early and the staff was kind enough to change our reservation. Overall the staff was great. The food amazing but most important the ambiance was exactly what we had hoped for quiet, comfortable and relaxed. A Win Win Win for us
One plate of fish was under-cooked and had to be sent back to the kitchen. The other plates of fish ordered were on the verge of being under-cooked. It was described as medium-rare. We should have insisted on medium for fish. The food seemed a bit bland. Hopefully, this was an off night for a restaurant that has been a favorite over the years.
Ray's has been consistently great for us. the food was great last weekend especially the smoked sable fish and the scallops which we had. We also had the Molten chocolate cake for dessert, which is worth the wait.
A Seattle icon Ray’s boathouse never disappoints. The halibut was cooked to perfection and my wife ordered the scallops which were equally awesome. Service was very attentive and who can beat the atmosphere.
Went on a rainy Tuesday night and found it was about 25% full. The server was very attentive but also unobtrusive which was great, I hate it when they approach you with a mouthful of food. The local white wine they had was very nice and I ordered the Rockfish. the food came very quickly, which also concerns me a little , was it truly freshly cooked ? but the fish tasted lovely, very moist and my date was very complimentary about her crab cakes and chowder. It's not the first time I've been to Rays and have never had a bad experience there, the setting is great and even on really bust days the service is usually just right.
Birthday dinner for mom. View as always is the draw everything else about the place is boring. Please change anything to freshen the experience .
Go to Rays Boathouse every time I visit Seattle!!!!
Restaurants come and go, but not this one. Ray's is an institution, and for good reason: Delicious seafood, an historic and beautiful location, and decades of experience (theirs and diners') behind it. It is best on a clear day at sunset but wonderful on a dark, rainy October evening as was our most recent dinner there. Out of town guests loved it, and so did we.
Great food, excellent service, waterfront dining. A bit expensive.... for two people with a glass of wine and ordering from the dinner menu you should expect to spend $130-150, without the tip. Just an FYI.
This was a great restaurant for a dinner meeting. We enjoyed the food too.
Been coming to Rays for last 5 years, sable fish always great in the past. Must be new chef because the cold noodles and over salty bacon not welcomed. Let the fish shine!!! Sorry guys, prices now too high for what you get. Won’t be back sadly. This is after culinary stops in Vegas, Palm Springs, San Fran, Cali Coast and Portland. Thanks Dan Keene
Rays is a Seattle classic. I have never been disappointed. Service was perfectly timed and out of town guest raved about the salmon.
Staff was as professional as they get
Ray's Boathouse is my go-to place for fine seafood dining on the Puget Sound waterfront.
Food was expensive and mediocre. Celebrating mother's 80th b-day and advised open table when reservation made. Had to remind the waiter at the end of the meal who asked if mother wold like vanilla ice cream....really?! There's nothing better?! Requested pumpkin tart for her and saw we were charged for it, which we paid. Mother had fond memories of Ray's from 35 years ago. Too bad it's gone down hill. Would not recommend this place.
Went there for my wife's birthday. I had not been to Rays in over 15 years. Wow! What a great restaurant with excellent and friendly service. Rays is now on the top of my go lists for seafood restaurants.
Best food I have had in awhile, and while Ray's has always been very good, it seemed to me they have upped the quality to new heights. The view is unparalleled, as well, and it was a perfect, clear night, showcasing the Olympic mountains, the Sound, and even working fishing boats! Truly memorable, but would not have received such high marks without the excellent service as well.
A must-dine experience for anyone in Seattle.
Celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary at the Boathouse. Loved the seared ahi and the Burnt Ray's to finish a lovely dinner. Nice timely service too
Great meal for husband birthday. Crab dishes were wonderful. Service great.
This turned out to be the perfect venue for a family reunion. Our party of eight was seated at a long table at the window. The server was outstanding. We were not rushed or hovered over, and drinks, appetizers and entrees all arrived at an orderly and relaxed pace. The view at sunset and early evening is incredible. Every entree was perfect, and the desserts we all shared were exceptional. We'll be back next time we're in Seattle.
Truly beautiful spot and lovely food. Just wish it were a tad bit brighter - lighting is set to put babies to sleep.
Amazing as usual! Scallops and Sable fish were to die for.
I have eaten at Ray's before and very much enjoyed the food. This time was quite different. The service was great but the food was very underwhelming. We had a variety of meals, the fish the restaurant is known for (can't remember the name), steak, salmon, pasta and chowder. Not one meal was above average. I won't go there again because when I pay $45 - $60 for a meal, not including the wine, I expect it to be above average.
Our server was one of the best that we've ever encountered. Knowledgeable, customer focused and very attentive. Our food was superb as well.
Food was something similar to Costco, feels like frozen food and taste like so, but they sell it like a chef put an effort and is not. extremely disappointed with the food but the service with the waitress was exceptional great personality and very attentive and friendly
Made a birthday reservation. Told we didn’t make a reservation by the Rays greeter. Very lackadaisical greeter and staff. Later harassed and told we were no show when we showed. Rays lost longstanding customer. Would not recommend opentable - very unreliable
Best. Dinner. EVER!! Make sure to get a reservation time for just before sunset. The view was spectacular. The food was beyond amazing. The service was outstanding. 5 stars all around!!!
Beautiful setting, excellent food and outstanding service. Thank you for making our special occasion so memorable.
We had a wonderful dinner and were seated in a booth for four with an iconic view of the water. Food was excellent but not as good as we remember from a few years ago. Used to dine here several times a year and things were more active, dishes had a more contemporary and exciting edge. Returned to Seattle to visit friends. Found both food and service need a little inspiration. Maybe it just was an off Sunday night.
Fantastic location, great food and excellent service -- could not ask for more!
Great fresh seafood. Great knowledge of what is caught in the nearby ocean. Food is delicious. You must try this place
Ordered the puff pastries with cheese, and they were extremely greasy, albeit tasty. The halibut and sablefish were delicious, as was the filet. Dessert was good, not great. We would have loved a chocolate cake-like option. Good wine variety re: prices and region. The service is impeccable, the room, warm and inviting. The view, gorgeous.
A great place for old friends to meet and catch up while enjoying wonderful food and stunning views.
Service and food both were a little off but that view! We still love Rays but maybe only for happy hour from now on
