Very nice with a gorgeous view. Good for anniversaries or if you have visitors in town. Great for seafood but there are non fish items available as well
Good for fresh seafood. Better book in advance for a good table
From old-fashioned, white tablecloth quality to modern mediocrity or worse.
Wonderful food, view & location. It’s a favorite for out of town guests, as well as informal HH.
While the food here is good, we had issues with the service. Specifically we brought, as our guest of honor, an elderly relative who was very thin from chemotherapy. We had a table reserved way in advance. When we arrived we were seated right by an open door through which there was a huge cold breeze. Our cousin was so cold his teeth were chattering. We asked twice (practically begged) if there was any way we could be moved further into the dining room and were refused in a rather brusk fashion. We ate our dinner, which was quite expensive, but could not really enjoy it because we all were cold and the guest of honor was freezing. I could not understand such poor guest relations. I had had the reservation for two weeks so it was not that they had just fit us in. I was really rather shocked and have not been back.
This is one of those legacy waterside places that exists mainly because of its location. Kitchen needs an update big time. Either go simple and serve great quality seafood without a lot of fuss, or get a visionary at the helm and come up with an innovative menu. As it stands this is like a mediocre hotel restaurant.
My wife and I wete there recently. We had a window table upstairs a little before dinner hour. It was very nice. We were one table set away from the bar which was quite full but it seemed like the noise was very reasonable. We both really liked what we had a the proportions were in line with our light eating habits.
Tired and overpriced. Better to drive to Kirkland and watch the sun set from Carillon Point.
Always a favorite of ours. Best view ever. Good food.
Exquisite seafood paired with like views. A great combo in any weather.
It's a nice destination spot and the food is good but not amazing. The bar upstairs is great and a perfect place for Happy Hour.
The food at Ray's isn't bad, but it's so overpriced. It's not _that_ good, and knowing that, i never want to order the things that sound the nicest because i can't bring myself to pay what they are asking for a good enough but kind of ordinary meal. I always preferred the Shilsole Bay Anthony's, and being back at Ray's only made missing it more poignant.
Great views, location, food and cocktails. Went there initially for appetizers and drinks and stayed for the pan seared halibut and chowder. Highly recommend the food here. Such great flavors and lovely presentation. A must for Seattle visitors!!
Always a great meal with a gorgeous view and good service!
We were here 6 years ago for our 20th wedding anniversary and the food was fantastic!
Ray's is a Seattle classic and we enjoyed our set meal during Seattle Restaurant Week.
Lunch at the cafe-fantastic cocktails. Superb appetizers & alaskan crab legs!
Went this summer for dinner and sat on upstairs patio. Hadn't been for some time, but remember why I hadn't been back for so long. The view is unbeatable, but the food has gone so down hill we won't be coming back. Quality, preparation and taste all disappointing. Portion size remained significant, but not a good thing since not one of us finished our meal. Hope to see and hear about an improved food experience to bring us back.
Great setting, sadly, not impressed with the food. Interesting you do not take criticism well 😁
Splendid evening outside. Food was fantastic and the ambiance was perfect. We have been fans of Ray's for years, but hadn't been there for awhile. Now remember why we always loved it.
Good view and good standard American fare. Great for casual night out.
Amazing place with an amazing view. Perfect date place
Great Sunday Happy Hour!
Excellent Brunch. Lovely views. Great outdoor dining.
Food was delicious, view great and staff very good.
the food was okay. I was disappointed. I got sick after eating a medium rare salmon.
Great introduction to Seattle seafood. Great views.
lots of yummy food and they give you nice portions...great view too.
Lives up to it's reputation: good food, great service and scenic vistas.
Gorgeous view, good food, great cocktails. Fun place for groups and special occasions.
The dining experience at Ray's is always exceptional!
Great views - good food - a little pricy, but nice - would go back.
The atmosphere is very old and stuffy. We much prefer the cafe upstairs.
Ray's knows what they are doing. They do fish really well and have slowly adopted new techniques, creative side dishes and updated menus over the many years. Ray's is a Seattle staple for a reason. Quality food in one of the most spectacular restaurant locations ever.
Great food and great service. Nice view!
Food was excellent!
Ray's is a Seattle classic. Can't ask for a better view on a summer evening. Love the ambience and tried and true seafood options. The scallops especially!
I know its expensive, but its delicious and has a terrific view and has a very welcoming atmosphere.
Excellent food great scenery!
Great scenery good menu and food!
Been to Rays at Shilshole many times. Expensive, but the food is excellent.
Great ambiance, amazing food. Really good for a special date night or nice cocktail.
I was very disappointed in my dinner. The pasta that came with the sea scallops was totally wrong for scallops--a real failure on the chef's part and the worst pairing with scallops I've ever seen (and I order scallops a lot at good seafood restaurants). The dish was very overpriced for 3 scallops. I hadn't been to Ray's in years and now I think I don't need to go back. Service is outstanding, but the deciding factor is the food.
