Very nice experience. Randy visits tables and makes sure you’re happy
There were some things did did not score a perfect but the biggest thing that was missing was no music anywhere in the restaurant. That really affected the ambiance!
We were greeted upon arriving and were escorted to our reserved table. Our server, Tracy promptly came to ask what, if anything, we would like while awaiting the rest of our party. After everyone had arrived, Tracy took drink orders and made recommendations for appetizers. We had delicious stuffed mushrooms and calamari that was very lightly fried. Our party of 6 ordered our entrees and side dishes (that Tracy informed us were served as family-style dishes. All our meals were served hot and each was cooked just as ordered. Throughout the evening Tracy was attentive and courteous, and paid special attention to the couple who we were honoring for their 50th wedding anniversary. It was made even more special when Randy came to greet us and ensure that we were being taken care of by Tracy. Our final assessment - Randy’s is a top-tier restaurant that serves outstanding food and is staffed by courteous, caring people
Went for our Anniversary and had a wonderful dinner and a great experience with their cozy atmosphere. The food was great and made like a home cooked meal.
The food is outstanding. The mystique of the old house is immediately apparent, but is very warm and inviting. Kimber, our server, was absolutely fantastic. Be sure to ask for a ghost tour!
We had a wonderful dinner. We felt so special when we saw our name on the chalkboard wishing us a Happy Anniversary. The steaks were cooked to perfection! And of course we couldn’t leave without having the chocolate mousse! Great place for special occasions for sure!
Randy always comes out to greet his guests and check if his guests are happy with their meal. Thank you Randy and team!
Amazing place to celebrate any occasion! Phenomenal food, outstanding service and the house is awesome. I took my mom for her birthday and definitely intend to take my husband. Expensive for us, so it’ll be another occasion, but I was super impressed and will make it a point to go back. 😊
The second we sat down to our table (even before giving our drink orders) the waitress stated that they had a party of 20 in one room and a party 50 in the other, "so you better get your orders in quick!" At that moment I though, huh.. that is odd, but maybe it was one of those nights. Anyhow, has the dinner went on she discouraged us from ordering an appetizer, as it "would make our wait for our food longer."
This was a night that we went to Randy's with another couple with 2 small boys like we have- we had sitters and we were in no rush. Well, we completely felt that way... Also, we were celebrating my husband's birthday, they wrote happy birthday to me and then never came out with the cake. I would have brought my own dessert if I knew that they were not going to give him some sort of something for his birthday. In fact, I emailed them about bringing something for the table- they never returned this email. Finally to boot, I really cannot give you a reference on if the food was good or not because she messed up on my order. I was not going to let my friends and husband wait for me to eat, while they waited over an hour for their own food to arrive. I am very disappointed in the service, but if you are going for the ambiance then it will be worth your while it was very neat to be in an old house with a courtyard- you could feel the history of the house the moment you walked up to the front. it was beautiful! Otherwise, there are many other steakhouses in Frisco, Texas that I would recommend.
Finally, I want to end on this- I am not someone who usually writes reviews good or bad, so please do not think I am "one of those customers that you cannot please." I am very reasonable and worked in the service industry for a very long time.
It took almost 2 hours to get our entree. They were overwhelmed by events downstairs. Plates were burning hot but food was cooling. Overpriced California wines mostly, no TX wine except for Randy's. Tiny wood chairs and dank little upstairs was uncomfortable. Service tried hard but too busy. Sauce was lumpy but steaks were delicious. Wine gift at the end was very nice touch.
We sat is a nice room upstairs with three other tables. It was a nice and intimate setting for us to enjoy and chat. The service was outstanding by all the staff. The menu made it difficult to decide and when the food arrived it exceed our expectations. Everything from the drinks to desserts was amazing. We found our favorite steakhouse in the area! We will definitely be returning again very soon.
Best prime rib I’ve ever had in my life! It’s so nice to have such a wonderful meal and to not feel rushed out the door. We will DEFINITELY be back!
We ate here on a Friday night and both had the prime rib. It was excellent and almost fork tender. We did the price fix menu so also had a side dish, salad and dessert with it. Make sure you join his mailing list so you know about all the great specials.
Over priced for what you get. The restaurant is in an old victorian home, so the ambience is great. The New York strip was juicy and cooked as ordered. The sides were generic and over priced. The dessert looked to be food service grade, definitely not made in house. The Key Lime pie is more like cheesecake. In my opinion I could have eaten the same meal at a chain restaurant for a third of the price. This was my first and last time to this establishment
First off the food was amazing!! Also the small town feel you get there I love it. The owner was walking around talking to everyone which was great!! I think my favorite part was it was our anniversary and our name was on the welcome board and they gave us a free bottle of wine!!
The steak was very bland and dry. Rough to cut. A filet should be moist. I was thoroughly disappointed in the food. The server was great and we met Randy but the food was not to standard.
My husband and I enjoyed our 5 year anniversary dinner at Randy’s Steakhouse. We were surprised when we enter the restaurant to see our names on the sign wishing us a happy anniversary and also received complementary desserts and bottle of wine with our amazing dinner. Randy’s Steakhouse went above and beyond to make sure we had the most amazing anniversary dinner.
We're regulars for our anniversary and they always hit the mark.
Excellent place to eat. You won't be disappointed.
Fantastic food and service. Dont pass up dessert!
The main dining room is noisy... be sure to ask for a smaller room if you're out for a romantic evening.
I cannot recommend Randy's. Uneven service, poor presentation and the timing of the meal were unexpected. There are so many competitors surrounding that do it better. Although I wanted to like Randy's it was ultimately not that good.
Great service and food was incredible.
My husband and I just moved to Frisco and were excited to try the famous "Randy's "
The wait staff was very nice and friendly!
We ordered a shrimp platter -it was very rubbery and the sauces were just squirted on the plate ?
The bread was nice , I expected more from the butter that looked like a hard boiled egg in half - I would suggest more chives or herbs - it just tasted like ... butter.
My garden salad was a basic clean salad - the ranch dressing was outstanding !
Then the New York strip steaks were tough ... and had too much gristle :( that is a very expensive steak to have gristle ...
Mashed potatoes were yummy ! And broiled to perfection .
Desert the strawberry "boozy" Romanoff was good because it was Boozy!
Cream brûlée was soupy -we didn't even eat it ..
needed to be prepared early and chilled-that was disappointing.
Then the check came - wow! Way too expensive for the quality of the food .
We had a gift card that our home inspector gifted us - it was not accepted , because we ordered from the restaurant week menu .
I understand that it is a charitable campaign so I don't hold that against them .
But I don't think we are going back .
Subpar at best .
Service was poor. We had a waitress to start our service, but she left and another waitress took over without ever saying anything to us. Also, we went nearly 15-minutes without any table checks, so one glass of wine and no option for a second. Food quality was average and ambiance was okay.
Excellent menu and the food was first rate. Service was very good. Would definitely try this again.
I loved the feel of this restaurant. It was beautiful and the staff was super friendly. The owner came around and talked to all the tables and was really nice. Celebrated a wedding anniversary here and am excited to come back to this restaurant again.
Our dinner at Randy's Steakhouse was relaxing and both the food and service were excellent. We enjoyed the Restaurant Week menu and everything from the salads, to the ribeye steaks, to the fudgy mousse was wonderfully prepared and served at a good pace so we could enjoy our food and the atmosphere.
Very good experience and great service
The inside decor is very out of date and almost dirty looking. Not a great ambience. We waited over an hour to eat. The waitress barely came by to check on us. I ordered the surf and turf. The lobster wasn't cooked well. It was a very disappointing experience that we were looking forward to since we live in Frisco and always wanted to try out the restaurant. Considering that the food was not spectacular the price seemed a little high. We paid 160 total and drank water. After very nicely letting the waitress know that we were in a hurry for an event and if we could get the check it took another 10 minutes to get the check. The dessert was also disappointing.
Randy’s wine dinners are always a special treat. His ventures with new, non-menu dishes always let his skills shine.
We attended the monthly wine dinner and enjoyed the pairings of wine and food
Not good. Service was fine, but the food was not.
The only issues we had was that there was no one there to take us to our table when we arrived. The staff was super friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious.
Lovely meal. Superb service and the food is wonderful. We have been to Randy's for several special occasions and it is always just great. Randy himself made the rounds table by table checking on each party to insure we were satisfied.
My table definitely was.
Our waiter new the menu well and made great recommendations. Restaurant week was a great value and a wonderful time to try someplace new.
Excellent dinner. Food and wine, service great. Desert spectacular, especially the bread pudding. Have been before and will return.🍷😀🍷
My filet was cooked perfectly. Caesar salad and creamed spinach were delicious. Service was attentive but not hovering. Would go again without hesitation.
The food was excellent, awesome service and can’t wait to go back!!
Great food and service. Bad parking experience. Need a weekend valet.
