Randy's Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Our server was not good. He didn't go over the specials or recommendations. He was not attentive to our water being empty for long periods both times. Overall, just not very professional and definitely would not make it in the nicer steakhouses in the area.
Randy did come by and work the room and greet guests and that was a nice touch. He's a really nice guy.
Our filet was delicious and tender, but the strip was very tough and not a good cut whatsoever..very disappointing especially for $45. The homemade butter for the bread was wonderful. We had fried jalapeños for appetizer and they were bland and undercooked.
Overall, the ambiance not great for date night and more appropriate for family gatherings or work functions maybe. Being the same cost as the other upscale steakhouses in our area, it unfortunately just doesn't come close to comparing.
Even though we were there celebrating a special occasion, the server never mentioned it. That has always been a given at Seasons, Capital or Del Friscos. We wanted to love it...its just not on the same level as our other steakhouses or nicer places we go.
We were blown away by the friendly hospitality we received here. We were first time diners. Our waiter kindly went over the menu with us, and made recommendations. Randy came out to personally introduce himself, and he told us all about the history of his restaurant and the house! The food was amazing. We loved the bread and special butter. And we ordered a bone in ribeye, Mac n cheese, and layonaise potatoes. The steak was cooked to perfection. We ordered it medium rare, and it was very tender and flavorful. I would highly recommend this place for a special date, birthday, or anniversary. We will be back for sure!!
If you haven't been in a while, give it another try...
My husband and I had both been to Randy's 15 years ago separately before we knew each other. And, we both walked away from those meals underwhelmed by the food. Both of us had the same complaint, the steaks were overcooked. With so many great steakhouses nearby, it was hard to justify a return trip. HOWEVER, we decided to give it another try last weekend and we were so glad that we did. The evening started off on a great note in the lounge where the bartender made the most delicious dirty martinis. They had just the right ration of olive juice to vodka and they were topped off with my favorite blue cheese olives. Once at the table, we ordered the shrimp appetizer which was basic, but delicious. The for the main course we had the bone in ribeye and the crawfish filet. Both were excellent. The ribeye was one of the largest I have ever seen and cooked perfectly. It took a little while for the order to come out, but it was worth the wait. We had the bread pudding and chocolate molten cake for dessert. Honestly, neither of them were impressive. But, the steak and martinis made up for it.
Farewell to couple of friends moving to Hawaii and wanted to enjoy the Kim Crawford wine dinner with them. The menu and wines were wonderful. The 1st course with lobster bisque had a bit of cajun kick. The 2nd course with maple-glazed chicken with mustard jus was so tender. The 3rd course with filet mignon & sauce with mushrooms was delicious. Dessert included apple-filled crepes with cinnamon ice cream & caramel candy martini - decadent!
This was my first visit to Randy's, very impressed, and will be back. Excellent food, unique but subtle tastes from spices made the steak and the vegetables delicious. They have a great wine selection. The atmosphere is quaint and quiet. I highly recommend Randy's.
We went for an anniversary dinner and it was wonderful. We sat in the lounge for a drink before our reservation and the bartender sat us at the appropriate time. Randy came around to greet everyone, which was nice to see and his employees seemed to enjoy having the boss around. We started with the brie appetizer (highly recommended) and then went with the blueberry filet and the blue cheese stuffed filet. The southwest corn was better than the potatoes au grain, but I think that's preference more than anything. Next time, I'm going to try the steamed broccoli, because when it went to the next table, it looked really good!
Our family had an awesome time on a Tuesday night. Our food was delectable. We will be back on a weekend. Customer service was great. Our waiter was very attentive & Randy came out to meet & greet each table. The next day I received a phone call from Randy thanking us for coming. It was worth it!
Took over 1 1/2 hours to get food. I ordered medium well filet and it came out very well done (burnt). Sent it back. Told me 10 minutes. 20 minutes later steak came out and it was rare!
Potatoes were burnt. Mashed potatoes salty. Bread bland. Will never go there again
My husband and I went for our 2 year wedding anniversary. We went on a Tuesday night so it was nice and quiet. The service was excellent. The food was delicious. I recommend Randy's special wine selections. We also were gifted a free dessert and specialty bottle of wine in celebration of our anniversary. Thank you, Randy's!
The food was absolutely amazing! We were in Frisco for a conference and wanted to have a nice meal before we left. We were able to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the evening. The restaurant next door had live music, but wasn't too obnoxious. Our steaks were perfectly cooked and could not have been better. I had my left-overs at breakfast the next morning where I only had a plastic knife to cut a medium-rare filet- no problem! Service was exceptional. Highly recommend.
My wife and I went to Randy's on a Friday evening. It is a beautiful 160 year old home that serves as an excellent restaurant. We both had appetizers and steak. My NY Strip was one of the best steaks I have ever had. Full of flavor and prepared perfectly. Betsy was our server and she did a great job. Was able to explain everything (including the history of the home), and make great suggestions.
Marco, our water was the best. Very engaging, knowledgeable and friendly. I felt he really appreciated us as guests.
The owner himself, Randy, came out and checked on our satisfaction level. Once again adding to the atmosphere of appreciating our business.
Prices were steep but not out of line for the quality of food and service.
I have been to Randy's on several occasions but not recently. I went there for a steak dinner last week. It was so good and I was impressed with the service and the food I came back with my nephew to celebrate his moving to New Orleans next month. I have already told many of my friends that this place is the best!
My first experience at Randy's a year ago was very good. This visit was absolutely the worst dining experience I have had to suffer through in Dallas. We requested the front room (a week in advance) since we had a large party and four small children. As we are about to be seated the manager changes her mind and seats a different party in our room and we are left standing in the hallway for ten minutes. At this point the staff starts pushing tables together in a corner of the back room by the kitchen door. It takes the waiter ten minutes to take our drink order. I ordered two bottles of wine and find out after fifteen minutes they are out of one the wines. when the waiter finally brings the wine to the table another ten minutes has passed. Now for our food order, the steaks were like shoe leather and no flavor the onion rings were burned and the mushrooms were cold. This whole ordeal took over two and a half hours and the noise sitting by the kitchen door was so loud I could barely hear the person next to me.
There are too many great Steak Houses in the Frisco area to ever go back to Randy's
