Ranch House Restaurant at Devil's Thumb Ranch
Celebrating my husband's birthday twice now, our engagement and honeymoon, we were lucky enough to have Sean (apologies if I misspelled her name!) as our server each time! She is an amazing employee - engaging, personable and very attentive - each and every meal was perfect. She always makes our visits to DTR memorable and special.
Great service, good food, ambience is what makes this place special.
Great 60th Birthday celebration and wonderful service!
Excellent evening with each of us selecting a different delicious cut of Waygu beef. The elk was delicious, apps and sides were as well. Ethan did a great job, thanks to entire staff.
What a hidden gem this is! My husband surprised me for our anniversary. He really did go out of his way finding this restaurant. It’s exactly what I love.
Very rustic atmosphere and welcoming feel. The views from our seats were amazing. Snow capped mountains, the sun was setting and the restaurant is seated on 100+ acre ranch!
I can’t say enough about the fantastic views. The service we received from our waitress Natalie was excellent, always making sure we were happy. (And we were)
The food was outstanding.
Being that we are from California and have a very diverse selection of food, this place is top notch and would be loved by many in California.
We will be back!!
Vary cool place. I hope to return soon. The veiw from our dinner table was great. I would like to return for lunch with freinds.
Our dinner at Ranch House Restaurant was the best restaurant experience and meal I've had all year! I loved it! Our waitress was wonderful and so knowledgeable. The food was absolutely delicious and unique. I loved the feel of the restaurant. It was so comfortable and the views simply stunning! I can't wait to go back!
Beat steak on the planet. Dessert was the only part of the meal that wasn’t a 10 out of 10.
Terrific food! loved the goat cheese brulee. Very friendly server. The beef is great!
The Ranch House was a perfect setting to celebrate my birthday. All though it is a bit pricey, I knew that going in, yet the food was impeccable delicious. I would love to stay in the lodge or one of the cabins one day. We just drove up from Denver to enjoy fine dining at it's finest scenery. We booked our meal early which was good, because there was still light out to enjoy the view.
The Ranch House at Devil's Thumb never disappoints, and our meal here last month was no exception. This was a five-star dining experience based on the quality of the food and service, and the beautiful, mountain ranch views we enjoyed throughout our meal. It was the perfect venue to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary, and we will return.
Enjoyed our experience st the restaurant. It's a beautiful location and venue, great food and service.
Amazing!! They were so understanding and helpful with my vegan and gluten free restrictions! The food was unbelievable!
Amazing all the way around. Food was exceptional!
Very unique. Very Colorado.
A great place to plan a wedding or other venue.
Special thanks to our waitperson Seanne whose knowledge, professionalism and service is unsurpassed.
Always a great experience. Excellent food, service and atmosphere.
Our group had the most amazing experience last Friday night. The service was incredible and the food was better than anything we could expect.
We can’t wait to go back!
The dining experience is lovely. Great food, service and outstanding views of the valley!
Fabulous way to celebrate our friends first visit to Colorado. They said it was one of their top meals ever- and they are foodies. Outstanding attentive staff. Love DTR and will be back again
Inattentive service. Average food. Not worth the price.
Great service with Shawn and a delightful evening celebrating my birthday and our anniversary.
The shrimp cocktail appetizer was a bit tough and not a flavorful as I would have liked. The Wagou strip was great as were the scallops.
Always great. Food out of this world and service to match. The setting and the view are fantastic.
Took girlfriend to Ranch House for her birthday. The setting was beautiful, service was excellent and the food was very good. It is expensive, so be prepared to spend. Highly recommended as the finest restaurant we have found in Grand County. Use for special occasions or if you just feel like spending for a great experience!
Just a wonderful experience. Waiter was fantastic and the food delicious.
I can not recall what the waiter called the assortment of herbs on the small spoons, but I wanted to steal the recipe...ours had sage, ginger, cucumber, carrot and a very small rectangle of vanilla jelly, all simply piled on this small handled spoon. Out of this world yummy!!
We will be back. If you have never been, BE THERE, GET THERE.
Natalie, our server, was wonderful!!!!
Thanks so much! Alan & Linda
Excellent service, low key and friendly at the same time. Delicious food, and the Wagu beef was especially good.
I came with my two daughters (9 and 6) and our server was very accommodating with the adult and kid menus. It is SUCH a beautiful setting and we were so happy to be there during daylight hours. We arrived at 7:30 for an 8:15 reservation and they were able to seat us right away which was an added bonus. While it is definitely more appropriate for a special occasion or a night with just adults, I was so pleased at their friendly and welcoming service with a mother/daughter trio!
Everything is always great at Ranch House! The food, the views, the wine...always top notch.
Lovely setting, charming, food excellent, but service lacking. Never clear bread played without first asking if additional bread is wanted. Make certain a second glass of wine is poured when wine glass is empty, and be attentive that the non-drinker’s beverage is kept filled. A diner at an upscale restaurant should never have to ask for a re-fill. Attention is lacking in service, and is not the norm at a high-end restaurant. However, the setting is awesome, and the meal superb.
We love the RanchHouse. Try to start dinner near 7 and watch the view change. One of the best restaurants with one of the best views.
Can be noisy if kids are present. This is my wifes favorit place in Winter Park area.
Took my wife to Devil's Thumb Ranch for her birthday, and we had dinner at Ranch House Restaurant. They sell Wagyu beef raised at the ranch. A filet mignon is $14 per oz. with a minimum order of 5 oz. I ordered an 8 oz. filet mignon and, when asked how I wanted it cooked, I said I wanted it either medium or medium-well, depending on how the chef defined those terms; I wanted the center to be pink but not red. The waitress said she would talk to the chef to make sure it was cooked as I wanted it. When it came out, it was well done. Not even a hint of pink in the center. The maitre-d' came by to ask how everything was, so I explained. He took the steak back and brought me another one. This time it was rare. So I sent it back again, and the third time it was what I would call medium well or a little beyond. Still not what I had ordered, but by that time my wife had almost finished her entree and I didn't want to wait for a fourth try. I don't think this was the waitress's fault; she understood what I wanted. The problem was in the kitchen. When you pay $112 for a steak, you would think they could cook it to order at least the second time. To be fair, they did comp us for a second glass of wine and a dessert, but the dinner was not what I had hoped for.
Another great anniversary celebration at The Ranch House. Natalie was an excellent waitress as always with excellent suggestions from the menu and some special treats to help us celebrate. The food was all excellent and the sommelier has great advice on the wine list.
Outstanding evening in an outstanding room. Restaurant was very busy and staff was a bit frayed but Jeff never let us down, giving us his best and making us feel special. Devil's Thumb Ranch is our favorite place in a state we've lived in for decades so we weren't surprised at the excellence of the Ranch House restaurant. What did surprise us was that the Devil's Thumb experience had gotten even better since our last visit. Only glitch at Ranch House restaurant was a poor rendition of German Chocolate cake for dessert. Nothing special, even tasted a bit stale. Didn't spoil our evening, however, and we can't wait to return to Devil's Thumb and their outstanding fine dining experience at the Ranch House.
Beautiful with great service
Excellent food, great views and our server Seanne is wonderful!
Ranch house is a lovely restaurant in an amazing setting. Devils Thumb Ranch is a delightful, beautiful place.
The food, ambiance and service were impeccable.
We were very unhappy with our experience at the Ranch House. Service was extremely slow. Upon arriving I was asked about allergies. I told them I have some nut allergies but can definitely eat almonds and peanuts. My starter was an. Extremely expensive pile of lettuce with a sprinkling of cheese. The salad was supposed to come with almonds but they left them off which was A bit surprising given all the effort made to ask me about allergies. The wait between our first and second course was extremely long. I ordered a Pork Chop which when it finally came had a sauce on it that was so unpleasant it ruined the taste of the meet. The trout ordered at our table had the same situation and overpowering sauce. We were also a bit surprised by the small slice of bread given to us with butter. When someone at our table asked for more bread they were given one more slice but nobody else was even asked. All in all it was just a very disappointing experience.
I am very picky when it comes to spending a lot of cash on restaurants. This place is not cheap, but worth every penny. I really feel like I got a crazy great deal for our wedding anniversary celebration. My wife had Elk and I had Bison that were outstanding. I will recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a fantastic meal in a beautiful environment with outstanding service
