Ranch House Restaurant at Devil's Thumb Ranch
Love the comfortable feel of Devil's Thumb Ranch and the dining goes right along with it. We spent the evening and really enjoyed ourselves
We really enjoyed our Father's Day meal. Our waiter was patient and attentive, and helped us plan a surf and turf type meal that was good for everyone present. The crab cakes are simply wonderful, so we highly recommend them. The meat was well cooked and well flavored. We enjoyed our time. They were also helpful with a sleeping toddler!
Excellent food, but it took an hour and fifteen minutes to get our food on a night that wasn’t that busy.
That said, the food was excellent. Just extremely slow.
Food was good, service was good but it took quite awhile for our food to come out and there was never an explanation of why it took to long.
The chef fixed us an appetizer that had been off the menu for the week . We thoroughly enjoyed our steak tartare and crab appetizers. We had the elk loin for the main course and it was properly prepared and delicious. Plan to go back when we are in the area again. One of our best dining experience. Service was great!
Was very good. Filet was high end. My husband loved the Elk. Enjoyed our dinner.
Fabulous! One of the best meals I’ve had!! The elk!
Very nice welcome - perfect table by the window / Beautiful views - Service was excellent - Food was spaced per our request that we wanted a beautiful relaxed dining experience - Felt like we were in Europe - From cocktails .. appetizer, entrees to dessert and coffee - lovely
amazing-- one of my favorite restaurants in the state of Colorado
We go to Devil's Thumb Ranch every year for a few days and always make a point for Dinner at the Ranch. Is great for special occasions and always has a hard to find Bourbon for drink before dinner. The Wagyu Steaks are a favorite of my wife, I had the Lamb which was Excellent.
Way too expensive for what it is. It’s a limited menu of glorified wedding food. Devils thumb ranch is beautiful but this restaurant has really fallen off over the last 4 years of coming here.
Our meal and service were amazing. I tried elk for the first time, and it was delicious. The filet was worth the price. The wine menu was also very impressive.
Totally awesome, incredible food, exemplary service! This was our first time eating here in the Winter season, and the snow scene was just as pretty as the summer beauty of the area. I missed the tasting menu that has been available in the past, but the guidance of Shawn, our waitress to a wine we might like (We loved it!!) made up for it. There is enough variety in the menu to satisfy our resident vegetarian as well.
The food and service were outstanding. Definitely a little pricey, but worth it. Only downside is trying to get a ride home. We took their free shuttle out there, but it stops running at 8:30. Our shuttle driver gave us the card of a local uber driver, who did take us home, but it took a little time to get into contact with her. The local taxi company would not answer their phone.
Excellent place, excellent service team and chef! Seanne rocks!
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Bibb lettuce salad was refreshing. The table was split on the monkfish – one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didn't quite mesh. Everyone loved the flat iron steak.
Good food, well prepared. Main dish can be served hotter. Otherwise, no competition.
Absolutely a perfect dinner night. I ordered the elk and think it was the most tender and best I have ever eaten. Can not say anymore than perfect. My wife had the pork chop and it was huge. The service is excellent.
An absolutely beautiful place for dinner! The service was impeccable and the food was fabulous! One of my new favorite spots!
We enjoy fine dining at the Ranch House when we are staying nearby. It’s a special occasion place in a beautiful setting. Food and service were excellent this visit. Don’t miss the mountain trout.
Great food and atmosphere. Service is typical of Winter Park area. .. slow. Marked as a birthday occasion on the reservation and it was never acknowledged.
Excellent food, creative and well sized portions, I had the Elk Loin and it was fantastic.
The food and service were absolutely top notch.
Food was excellent! Service also top notch. Try to get there before sundown to enjoy the view. Ambiance inside was perfect as well.
The food and service was excellent. They raise there own Waygu cattle
We had a Great meal and lots of gluten free options! The steak was fantastic and it was so nice to have gluten free bread available!
We had a great dinner at Ranch House after a perfect day of cross-country skiing. It's not the cheapest place around, but the food and service are excellent, as are the views. Definitely a great option for a special occasion!
A relaxing, romantic restaurant. Warm/cozy lighting, extremely personable/attentive service, and delicious food. We dine at the Ranch House Restaurant every time we visit Devil's Thumb and it never disappoints. It is both familiar and fancy.
Excellent ambiance and great quality fine dining. The chef was obviously exercising his expertise and creativity. Everything was authentic and house made. Will be back.
Incredible experience! Wonderful food, service and ambience!
First class all the way
Great service, food & beverage.
Amazing experience and we will go back soon. Had the Wagyu filet and it was out of this world. Caesar and Lobster Bisque was awesome too! Highly recommend.
I really don't like to do negative-ish reviews, in general people work hard in the food industry and there's a lot of entitlement that occurs in reviews, in my honest opinion. HOWEVER, my honey and I went to the Ranch House last week on Thursday night. We had a reservation and have eaten here before - with excellent results. On this night, the restaurant seemed highly under-staffed. There was a corporate group in one end of the dining room that made some noise but it was not excessive by any means. The problem came with the apparent understaffing, it took a long time to get bread/water after being seated, drinks were slow in coming once ordered, and we were left to study the menu for quite a while before someone came by to take our order. Once we ordered, it took a LONG time for any food to come out of the kitchen. Fortunately my honey's Wagu beef came out properly cooked and hot, unfortunately, my buffalo loin came out just plain cold. It appeared to be cooked properly, but the entire plate was literally not even warm. I sent it back, and it came back reasonably warmed, but the meat was then overcooked and the vegetables were not hot. Fortunately the manager took care of this entrée on our check, but this experience was not stellar - specially for the prices and food quality that is typical of this restaurant in our past experience. Our waiter was personable and upbeat, but the hostess needs to take some speaking lessons - while she does technically speak English, her accent is so heavy that it was very difficult to understand what she was saying, both on the phone and in person.
This is a gem - the food, service and ambiance could not be better. Visit after visit they impress - menu changes but never disappoints. The service is as good as it gets from the bar to the table. Don't miss an opportunity!
Always a beautiful, quiet, elegant place, Outstanding wine list and craft cocktails. Fresh local ingredients coupled with inventive presentations. The ambiance is worth a visit alone, and the food is consistently delicious and beautifully prepared. Have gone many times and will continue to go back.
Got engaged the staff was so helpful. The food was incredible
One of the best meals since moving to Colorado nine months ago!
Our soup and salad starters came out very late and my main dish was 'warm', not hot. Had to be sent back.
A perfect place to celebrate my birthday. The service was fantastic (very attentive, and many servers covering the table), and the food was delicious! Loved our evening!
