Great service and terrific service.they have wonderful sweeping views.
Made reservation for 6:00pm. We arrived at 6:10 pm and were asked if we were aware we were late. (Mind you we were a party of 6). They told us they closed at 6:00. I said "do you want us to leave?" She said let me go check....
The mountains were beautiful and that is what led us to make a reservation there. They told us they would seat us. They discouraged us from sitting outside.
One in our party ordered a cheeseburger and thought was greasy.
They were out of salmon.
Even though the views were fantastic we really did not get to enjoy them. It was basically an overpriced country club menu.
Such a beautiful secluded place.Food was great and drinks were delicious. Very quiet and relaxing with wonderful views
A group of friends went out to Rams Hill for a golf weekend. The restaurant at the club was great for lunch and a beer (or 2!) after a round of golf on their amazing course. Then we all returned for a sunset dinner the next night. We had a table on the outdoor patio with a lovely view of the water feature and golf course with mountains in the background. The service was excellent (thanks Amanda!) as was the menu/food. Very nice wine selection too! We found everything about the restaurant and bar to be first rate and a great compliment to our golf rounds. We will definitely return!
As always great food & great service. A very special place to celebrate a very special birthday.
Each time we are in Borrego Springs, we make a point to eat at Ram's Hill. The occasion this time was a family get-to-gether with a sibling in from TX and ourselves from NJ.
We were a little disappointed that the menu was more informal than we had remembered. Everything was quite good, though, and the view from the patio is spectacular.
This is the second time I've celebrated my birthday here. Breakfast & dinner on either side of a fabulous round of golf--unhurried, quiet, & no pressure! The food was so good we went back for dinner the next night. 'nuf said!
After dinner we sat in the garden (see pic) enjoying an after dinner drink while watching the stars & being bathed in a warm desert breeze. This is a designated dark zone to maximize the stargazing opportunities.
We had such a wonderful experience at Ram's Hill! We read some poor reviews regarding eating indoors (large TV, noisy), so we requested outdoor seating. It was a cold and very windy evening, but they set us up on their outdoor patio, and made it perfect! We were shielded from the wind by large glass windows, the overhead heaters were turned on, and best of all, we were given blankets to drape over ourselves! It was warm and cozy, and so beautiful overlooking the gorgeous golf course. On to the food. We had the chicken wings, delicious and served with a nice apple and cucumber salad to start. One of us has the filet, cooked perfectly and very tasty. The ither entree was Scallops served with an amazing Saffron sauce. These were flawless! Had apple cobbler and espresso cream puffs for dessert. Everything was delicious, and our server, Alexandria, was top notch! Would come back in an instant! Also, if you sit at the bar with the TV, it will be in your face, but, the rest of the inside tables were well spaced and away from it, it wouldn't have been an intrusive disruptor if we had sat inside. Either way, you should make it a point to come here, the experience was a highlight of our trip!
Stunning location. The view of Borrego valley is beautiful! The restaurant is well appointed and maintained. We dined on the outdoor patio and it’s such a lovely spot. A great wine selection, but unfortunately our meal was sadly not what might be expected of this establishment. The salad was not bad, but neither of us found our entrees to be that good. Hopefully the menu and preparation will improve. The service was very good. We’ll definitely give this another try!
A good time with old friends celebrating 2 birthdays Thanks..
Food and view were spectacular. Waitstaff seemed to cater more to locals/owners. Little folow-up and did not bring item requested.
our previous experience was terrific, but the service this time was very poor. We were completely neglected and served flat Prosecco two times. We ended up getting our own water pitcher and bringing it to the table. And our server was somewhat surly. Amazing views good food may try it again
We have been visiting Borrego Springs for over 50 years and Rams Hill had always been our "go to" restaurant for special occasions so when we planned to return to Borrego for the first time in about 5 years, with special friends from Norway, we immediately booked our reservation for our Saturday night Farewell dinner. What a disappointing experience! First, we were seated right in front of the TV in the bar, with the NCAA basketball games on. We asked about sitting in the dining room but were told that because the restaurant was so empty, they were not seating diners there. The menu was much more limited than we recalled and the food was a mishmash of presentation, with only mediocre flavors. The whole experience made us very sad, and frustrated as we had made such a special point of driving all the way out there. I hope management will do something to bring Rams Hill dining back to its former luster but in the meantime, for the near future, we will not be dining out there, or recommending it.
Food was mediocre. Frozen guacamole, overdressed salad, and mediocre New York streak (better steak from Von's and cook it yourself). Service was very friendly.
Lovely restaurant with great food and service
Excellent view combined with delicious food. The servers went out of their way to make our stay special and comfortable. The atmosphere was contemporary , clean, and inviting without being stuffy. The menu has a wide selection to make most happy (something for everyone). We never felt rushed nor ignored. Highly recommended. Considering this location is really in the middle of almost “nowhere” , it is really a jewel of the desert.
Great job !
As usual, Chef Jeremy is a Master in the kitchen! Great for him to have the new restaurant in Borrego as well as the restaurant in Wynola.
Four of us are visiting Borrego Springs and were looking for a nice dinner out. This place was the only one we found advertised for fine dining. We were surprised the dining area is actually part of the bar of a clubhouse with a big screen TV hovering over our table. The server was pleasant enough but rushed us through our meal. That said, the food was good. Their stuffed chicken special was actually delicious, the scallops pretty good, and the fish special was okay but the spices overpowered the red snapper. The shrimp cocktail and house salad were just okay. The prices are pretty steep for the area and the atmosphere. It was a Thursday night but there weren’t many diners. They do have a nice wine selection.
Always a great meal! Very professional and accommodating staff.
The new chef is excellent. Loved the Brussels sprouts, salmon and the terrific dessert
Seated outside, with a nice warm heater, looking at the majestic mountains and gorgeous landscaping of Ram's Hill golf course, eating spectacular food, Amanda, our wonderful, attentive server - a magical evening. Will be back next year.
Alexandria was great. Very helpful and knowledgeable about menu items. Pleasant personality as well.
Excellent quesadilla, chili and salads. The flatiron steak was not as good.
What a venue.... and wonderful meal. Can’t wait to go back!
Spectacular patio & grounds.
Here for a light meal.
Excellent meaty chili w good crusty bread.
The chopped salad wasn't chopped---like a bland Caesar, so was disappointing.
The dessert--a salted caramel cheesecake was worth coming for!
Had lunch on the veranda overlooking the golf course. The view is stunning...mountains in the distance, beautiful landscaping, well groomed course. Food was great as was the service. We will return.
My friend and I enjoyed the restaurant immensely. Our server was attentive and had great recommendations for wine and appetizers. We had the two entree specials, the prime rib and the pistachio-crusted halibut. We shared the two entrees 50:50 and both were delicious, with the halibut being exquisitely prepared. The sides were appetizing and went well with the entrees. The wine list was extensive and we found a wine that we greatly enjoyed.
That evening there was delightful live music. Coko Brown, solo voice and electric guitar, provided an eclectic, mellow and upbeat mix of '60s, '70s and '80s popular, folk, and soft rock covers by artists such as Joni Mitchell, Elton John, Tom Petty, Cat Stevens, Carole King, and Sting. Her lovely voice and melodic guitar accompaniment were enjoyed by the nearly full dining room of guests that Friday evening. In addition, her artistic flare was reflected in the Native American style custom paint job that she displayed on her beautiful guitar. We definitely hope to return to Ram's Hill again in the near future.
All 8 of us had fresh fish and it was moist and delicious. The service great and attentive. We sat inside but when the weather is warmer sitting outside on the patio is our favorite place to dine at Rams Hill.
The view is spectacular of the 18th hole and lake.
Overpriced for the food received. Great setting, nice and quiet ambience if you don't mind paying more for decent yet average preparation of food. The dessert was very good, though.
The clubhouse dining at Rams Hill is a great experience with a million dollar view!
Adequate for price. Steak was great. Other food adequate, not amazing. Service was exceptional for dinner. Great breakfast.
Great food, service, and beautiful mountain views from the Ram's Hill Clubhouse above the Boreggo Valley.
Finally in Borrego Springs, we have an elegant place to eat for Special Occasions and everyday dining. Elegant for New Year Eve, great food and wine, great service. Greeted by a lovely staff. One feels welcome. Happy to eat there any time.
We love the views, the outdoor seating, and the nice people who work there; however, we feel the prices are much too high for what one receives. We save our outings to Ram's Hill for only very special occasions. And we choose menu items carefully.
Two Thanksgivings ago (NOV 2015), my husband and I and our friend experienced the most glorious Thanksgiving buffet ever: there were various meat options, as well as roasted vegetables of all kinds, salads, a variety of breads, and tempting, mouth-watering dessert offerings. So this year we were looking forward to re-visiting that experience, and, man-oh-man, were we ever disappointed, almost to the point of tears.
Our first disappointment was the fact that there was no "spread" this year, just an a la carte menu option. Our second disappointment was almost everything served on our plates: the turkey was rubbery, we're pretty sure the potatos came out of a box, the stuffing was too salty to eat, and the gravy? Was that gravy? I don't think so. And the pumpkin pie was cold and had a strange glaze on top.
Here's what was good: the salad, the cranberry sauce, the wine, and the service.
Had Thanksgiving dinner the at restaurant and had a very nice time. Leisurely had cocktails and the dinner was good.
Beautiful setting, best fine dining in Borrego that we have found
Good, unpretentious food, well prepared. Lovely service. Good steak dinner. Great shrimp salad. Avoid the potato chips with blue cheese. Unless you want to eat them all. Like I did. A chipaholic's indulgence.
Great lunch but with party of 6 there were no larger table to see the view.we were placed way back by the wall even though not crowded since all table with pretty water views were only for 2 or 4 even though I called ahead.
