Rams Head Tavern - Annapolis
Our server was new, but did a great job. Food was great, music was even better.
Our food was awful. It was cold, with courses not served at the same time and the crab was old and smelly. The manager was excellent and acknowledged the problem.
Stopped in before a show. Our server was personable, attentive and helpful (our first time at the tavern.). We only had appetizers and drinks. Nothing remarkable about the food, but would go back to try an entree. The flourless chocolate cake was really good.
Sat on the front patio for brunch on a Sunday. Great day to people and dog watch passerby’s from the market. Loved the bottomless Bloody Mary bar and enjoyed our food for the most part.
Our server was very helpful, professional, and nice. We waited at least 30 minutes for our food - well, my food: When they brought out my burger (which had no flavor, even with bacon, fried onion straws, and a supposed whiskey glaze), our server was embarrassed and apologetic to tell us that they were out of the dish my wife had ordered, scallops, and hadn't informed her (the server). So no dish for my wife. They quickly rectified this with another order, but by this point we had waited about 40 minutes for our food.
The Monday night featured dinner of a steamed lobster, with baked potato, steamed broccoli, and a side salad was delicious. There were lots of other options, but I couldn’t pass up lobster for $22. The service was outstanding - professional & attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Chose to dine in house prior to a show for the convenience. Though our server was excellent in meeting our needs, and the seasonal salmon dish very tasty and reasonably priced, the scallop entree was an absolute disappointment and way overpriced. It looked more like an appetizer- with only 4 medium sized scallops on an almost smear sized portion of risotto! Doing some quick math, that made each piece about $6 each. It was hoped for the price there would have been at least 6 large scallops over a nice bed of risotto. Sorry choice -and not much on presentation either.
Service excellent. Menu changed since last visit, food ok, not as good.
Overall, very good.
Great food, great service. Very convenient when attending a show. The seafood was a treat, and the crab cakes were delicious. Invalidate part of your parking if you going to a show.
I did not mean to hit One star it’s at least four stars Overall. The chef did switch out asparagus for the mashed potatoes with my salmon dish. Very appreciated and it was delicious. Salmon was probably a little too cooked though black in some parts I would preferred less cooked and more moist. But everything else was delicious. Server did not escort us to the concert but he seemed very busy so we were OK with that
Sadly, I specifically picked this place for the Nashville Hot Chicken, and it wasn't even close. Now, I am a realist, and I understand that ordering "Nashville" hot chicken in Annapolis MD isn't going to be a definitive example of this amazing dish, but I was not expecting the consistency and flavor of a large soggy chicken nugget bathed in something akin to a 50% watered down Frank's hot sauce. It lacked in flavor and consistency and was utterly joyless, especially when I was anticipating hot, crunchy chicken. If I was a child under the age of 9, I would have been pleased with this chicken sandwich, but come ON it wasn't even FRIED chicken. The heat level hovered somewhere in the range of a pepperoncini from a Papa John's pizza box.
Super duper bummed. Guys, PLEASE call this sandwich something else.
We went for dining under the stars and sat outside. I wasn’t aware that there is a limited menu during this event. The service was decent and the ambience was amazing but the food was just ok. It was no where near as good as the previous times I visited the restaurant.
Rams Head Tavern presents a good package deal when you purchase tickets to a performance. You get discounts on parking and dinner and get a personal escort from the dining area to your seats in the theater. Reservations are easy using OpenTable. I had four guests all of whom enjoyed the drinks and dinner and the great show by Jake Shimabukuro.
Food was very good. The Ram's Head is a nice place for a meal and a show.
Very solicitous service, broad menu, well cooked and presented food, OUTSTANDING beer selection! Very nice well shaded, secluded outdoor patio
Extraordinarily god pub experience
Great Sunday brunch. Private room for a party of 12.
Our reservation was given away to a party of the same size even though we were on time. We were sat outside which was fine but the service was extremely slow and even getting drinks took forever. Granted we were a party of 14, but the amount of time everything took was way too much to forgive. It was closer to 815pm and they were not as busy. The food was hit and miss too.
We enjoyed our meal immensely! Our waiter was very nice but seemed a little confused. Maybe he was new. Anyway, the crab dip appetizer was excellent and I appreciated that it came with veggies as well as bread. The rest of the meal was very good. We wouldnt hesitate to go again!
the podium to put one’s name in the system is smack in the middle of the busiest intersection in the entire place. very hectic, and not very welcoming. food excellent. staff friendly.
Service was excellent , everything we ordered was hot and tasty.. It was pleasant evening.
We had tickets to a show at Rams Head Live. The combination of Rams Head Tavern and the short walk to our seats (full disclosure - we were offered a plan where we were escorted from the restaurant to our seats! Take that if offered) made for a perfect evening. Dinner was very nice, good service and and overall great experience. Great choice.
The prime rib was tough and full of fat. Wife had steak salad and the steak was tough. Dressing should have been on the side, not applied too liberally to salad.
recommend the overall experience and convenience of bar, dinner and concert. However, the food was pedestrian. Had strip steak, basic cut quality, cooking and flavoring. Sides were also rudimentary; garlic mashed potatoes and breaded brussels sprouts. I was disappointed in the dinner quality. I have eaten there previously and the food was pretty good. Copperhead ale was excellent.
Blue cheese Burger was delicious as were appetizers!
Tacos were the only disappointment. No guac, sour cream, salsa, or pico. Everything else was yummy!
Dinner before a comedy show. Good and service were really good (fried Brie appetizer was delicious). Then had a bacon burger. Really good food and service.
Nice beer garden. Food is a cut above pub fare; and the beer selection is quite extensive. A nice place for a first date/first dinner date that won't break the bank.
Not sure how you can screw up Nachos but they did! Service was lousy - our server had an attitude about everything we asked for - such as plates for the nachos 10 minutes after they were delivered - and her answer “if I could find small plates I would have given them to you” my salad the roasted pear was good but was delivered incorrectly- they did take it back and made it right .... but with so many options in Annapolis- I will not be back !
Service was good. Food was okay. Drinks were not good.
The Mon nite special lobster was delicious and the sides very tasty. This is a great value.
I was shocked that more people weren’t taking advantage of it.
The only thing that would have made it more desirable, is if the weather would have allowed
us to dine alfresco.. it was incredibly humid. There was a table of 6 (8)? in the opposite
corner of the restaurant and I’m sure they were having a great time. It was impossible
for us to hear one another, so a lot of excuse me, pardon me, again please, etc.
A satiated guest.
Anniversary. Came to see the show
Absolutely love coming to the tavern for dinner before a great show. Would highly recommend you to do the same!!
Second time I've been here in a week. Last Friday I came for a diner and show and had a good experience so I gave it a second try and it was just as good. Very consistent food and service. If you are seeing a show at the venue it only makes sense with the offer of 10% off your bill and complimentary drink after the show.
This is not high school and I an a patron. Show little respect and eliminate the word requirement. I am taking my personal time to do Ram Head a favor.
That being said, the room were too noisy, the food was okay, and there was general feeling that patrons were a nuisance. I had a reservation, but was unavoidably late. I called and informed person at desk that I would be late. Obviously, I lost my reservation as there was not a reserved table for me. I was give a table at a poor location and which severely wobbled.
Then the angel arrived. Renee saved the whole dining experience. She found me a table, ensured that the changes to my salmon would be correct. paid several visits to make sure I was okay, and then apologized for not doing more due to the how busy the room was. She was affable, efficient, and extremely polite.
I have been coming to the Rams Head for five year to attend the Delbert McClinton concerts. I have noticed that the menu no longer has the dishes previously available and is more a pub, than a restaurant. I miss the old Rams Head. I think it is time to explore some of the other restaurants in Annapolis.
Everything was excellent. However, mashed potatoes were cold.
Nice waitstaff very attentive; we went during week so had whole place to ourself. Food good and crab tots is a lot of crab and will fill you up!
The server was very attentive and friendly.
Ramshead is my home away from home!! Love it! My favorite food and entertainment place!
Food was less than good. Mice running around the patio. Waiter was nice. Food really not good.
