Ram Restaurant & Brewery - Schaumburg Ratings and Reviews
We have gone to Ram a few times and have always enjoyed the food. This time, not so much. Our server, Marcus, was very nice, but not very quick. We ordered an appetizer (pretzels and beer cheese) and our beverages (my husband and I both had soda and our daughter had lemonade) right away. The appetizer was out before our drinks and I had to ask for them. It was about 15 minutes for the appetizer to come out. The beer cheese was inedible because it was so spicy. I ordered the filet medallion sandwich and asked for the fries to be crispy. They were not crispy but I didn't want to wait for a new batch. My sandwich was really good. My husband had the Bavarian Burger and he said it was just ok. The service was pretty slow. It was a Sunday evening, our reservations were for 5:30, and it was not busy so I'm not sure why the kitchen was so slow. Kids eat for $1, which is a great deal. However, the beverage should be included. The drink was an additional 99¢.
Marcus was on top of the refills and like I said he was very nice. It wasn't his fault the kitchen was so slow.
The restaurant didn't have their air conditioning working and they did not inform us that it didn't work, which I thought would be considerate of them. They were also out of several items but we were not told until we went to order said items and then had to decide on something else on the spot. Overall it was not a great experience, which is something that I am used to from RAM.
We have gone to this Ram Restaurant location several times and every time we have noticed that the food and the quality of the food has gone down. Diminished greatly! They need to make some changes that are going to lose more people because it's the first time I was there on a Saturday night with more Empty Tables than table serving patrons. Very disappointed
Food and beer were good and our first waitress was excellent. The second was was not as nearly as attentive. I walked over to find our waitress to pay our check and then asked some random waiter to run our credit card after waiting almost 20 minutes to pay our check. Your bathroom are by far the most disgusting I've ever been in. Porta-potties are cleaning and smell better than yours. I try to hold my breath while using them.
We ordered nachos, pretzels with beer cheese, and guacamole during a girl's night out. The nachos were sad - nothing but cheese and black beans on top, nothing on the chips underneath. Pretzel bread was probably cooked much earlier in the day and then microwaved so it was rock hard. Guacamole was good. We complained to our very nice and attentive waitress who then got us a free dessert. The ice cream cake was delicious.
I hope they were just having a bad day. It took 5 to 10 minutes before we were greeted and seated at a table. Then another 5 to 10 minutes for a server to come over to our table. I hope it was just because they might have been shortstaffed. This visit I would certainly disappointed with after being her several times previously and being very happy
Food was great, but two out of four of the burgers had condiments on them they weren't supposed to have on them.
The service wasn't wonderful. There were no refills on drinks, he barely came to check in on us, and we waited for over fifteen minutes for him to come take our payment.
My husband ordered his burger rare to medium-rare and it came out well done - no pink at all. I ordered mine well and it came out charred - like close to a hockey puck. Our server was not attentive at all despite things being very slow for a Saturday night. The only redeeming thing was the beer. We will not be coming back here. Years ago the food and the service was much better.
I went with a group of 7 and we had made a reservation and they seated up not only right away but a bit early. We were there at 4:40pm on a saturday and there was quite a few tables open. The menu was pretty expansive but had a huge burger selection with some interesting options and substitutions. The waitress got one persons order wrong but then was able to correct it and get the right food to her within 3 mins which I found impressive, Nothing worse then one person not having their food. We all tried the desert ice cream cupcakes but I was dissappointed since they tasted a bit freezer burned, with they used higher quality ice cream, but its a great concept and we had never seen it before. The creme brûlée we ordered was also a bit soupy which was disappointing, but still tasted good. Overall it was a pretty good meal with some room for improvement in the deserts.
my first time being their and my mom informed it was my birthday, took 40 minutes for appetizers than an additional 40 mins for dinner which sucked. Also my mother informed the server it was my birthday no cake or ice cream or dessert in the house. the charged us for items we didnt purchase and informed at the end of the bill. so not worth our money here!
We started with the fried pickle slices and we realized why they were so much cheaper than everything else for starters. There was a 80% breading to 20% pickle ratio and they were so salty. We couldn't even finish them. Their beers are just basic "craft" beers and we weren't able to order their seasonal beer due to being sold out. The main courses were good, again nothing special. We do have to say the service was great.
We went to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was Saturday of March Madness. I thought the restaurant would have been a little busier, I guess everyone was sitting in the bar area instead. We ordered the nachos, which were just OK, not served warm or hot. Seemed the plate was sitting in the kitchen for some time before hitting our table. Then we missed the serving plates so had to wait a bit longer... We placed our dinner entrees, we all ordered from the Burger-Rama menu. The Ahi Tuna burger took way longer than the rest of our meals and our server assured us it was coming out next. After what seemed to be 10 minutes, it finally arrived. When our check came, the tuna burger was compensated. No direct conversation from our server or the manager on it? We will be back as this has a great selection of beers and specialty drinks plus a variety of items on the menu.
The restaurant was not overly busy but we had to wait quite a while at every stage of our dinner and more than half of our table's order was inaccurate. I don't think I will return. There are plenty of other causal American dining restaurants that have earned my business.
The seasonal beers were delicious. Their "every day" beers are just alright. Pretty generic offering. Definitely would like to see some variety there.
Food was fantastic. The place has great seating. a huge bar area, lots of TV's for sporting events. Just an over-all great experience to go go.
Excellent atmosphere. Arrived to a full wait area, told host I had reservation and was pulled forward and seated no wait. Delicious food, ribs were drenched in tangy sauce and meaty. Wife's fish and chips was served hot, she loves hot from kitchen food. Beer was delicious. Blonde ale just like race car beer, the IPA nice and crisp in the hops.
Waitress was pleasant but seemed over worked. She was happy that we were quick on the order, not searching the menu. We were not rushed to leave and stayed to finish to the last drop.
Wife used the ladies room and said one still was our of order, all 3 sinks had standing water and no running Hot water. Men's room was fine, ( but then, I'm OK with a backside of a tree..) that'll prevent her from coming back, which means I can't return....
Funny how great food, awesome building and atmosphere, and delicious beer get ruined by not having a good plumber..
We weren't very familiar with RAM. We went to enjoy the deal offered by Chicago Northwest Restaurant Week. The Caesar salad was excellent, fresh and crisp. My husband said the fish in his fish and chips was one of the best, but the fries, plated under the fish, were soggy. We brought that to the server's attention, and they were replaced. Hopefully, they'll plate the fries on the side in the future. My chicken pot pie was way too bland for me. If we had an opportunity to go, again, before we move, I'd try something else. The skillet cookie was nice and crispy on the edges while a bit chewy toward the center. The brownie skillet was too doughy. Would order the cookie, again.
This was the worse service I've ever had at a restaurant. Took 30 minutes for our server to come to our table, and we had to flag him down. Took him 30 more minutes to get our drinks. Had to ask another server where our server was because he didn't give us silverware or napkins. The beer was good, but would never eat her again.
