Ram Restaurant & Brewery - Rosemont
Take a 360 degree tour of our restaurant here!
We were seated right away but it took quite a bit of time for the waitress to greet us. She took a good 15 minutes to return with our drinks once they were ordered & then almost an hour to get our food. The waitress only came back 1-2 times to check in on our meal & refill drinks, etc. As a result of the slow service, we were late to a concert held down the street from the restaurant.
Worst service ever! Had reservations, placed food order for 2 salad & 3 sandwiches, 1 hour later no food, no wait staff, no refills...when we complained & received finally received our food everything was cold, southwest chicken salad had chicken nuggets out of a bag...cold! We requested check immediately & left! As we were leaving other customers were as furious as we were. What gives “Ram” off day? I don’t think so, many customers were complaining & walking out. Stay away, make reservations somewhere else!
Nice place to grab a bite before a concert at Allstate Arena.
Food was Awesome! Side orders can use a lil help. Steak was prepared perfectly and I enjoyed my burger.
Service was slow when we arrived. Once drinks came I started to speed up a bit. The food was excellent, it over came the initial service issues. Good place will return.
Great place to come for lunch or dinner. A nice atmosphere that doesn't get too boisterous and good for the family. I really appreciate them letting us take a table for four hours to catch up with friends!
fun place for watching sports at the bar
a little too bright there though for my liking and a bit noisy
I would go again
First time eating at this place and it was good! The food was very good and our server was nice enough to ask the kitchen to split our food for us since my sister and I were sharing. Great food and good service. Definitely a place to stop for a bite if you’re in the Rosemont area.
Went before the Elton John concert. They where out of top shelf alcohol and beer?? How does that happen?? Terrible
Service slow thought out dining experience
Terrible food and service. Never going back there.
The Ram used to to a nice place to go for good food and customer service.
They are going down hill fast. You used to be able to get a great KOBE burger or Wild Salmon, not anymore and the menu quilty has dropped to a bad level. Also the service is terrable with the waiter telling us how the wine / food would come out, unbeilivable. When you check in with your Open Table reservation you are greeted by bubble chewing girls who choose to seat you and send Open Table a note that we cancled and were a No Show. Open table backed us as we gave them all the receipt info. Called the restaurant the next day and talked to a manager who sounded like I was wasting his time. He won't have to worry about that anymore as we won't be returning. Talk about a place that went from Hero to Zero in a hurry.
When reservation was made, I was asked if there was an occasion. Yes, we were celebrating a birthday. Asked again after being seated, yes, a birthday. Enjoyed dinner, we all ordered a dessert anddddd nothing. No free dessert for the birthday individual, no singing, just nothing. Thennnn why were we continually asked? Disappointing.
Although we had reservations and there were plenty of open booths/table, we were seated in a corner near the back door. It was cold and right by the area where they put the dirty dishes. The waitress refilled my cup with soda water or watered down sprite on accident instead of regular water. We were served a very small appetizer with no appetizer plates- I would not order the fried calamari again (it was cut up filet and not crispy at all). We weren't given silverware or napkins. The best thing was the beer. I would not go again.
Always great service and choice if food! The Brews are always a treat!
I will return!
It wasn't the first time I've been here and the previous outing was a little better. Unfortunately, this instance stemmed from a bad front of house, an older lady. She was not very friendly nor accommodating to our requests. My daughter came in first in which my daughter was never acknowledged. My wife had to approach and then we were initially forced to squeeze into 4 person booth for 5 people. We asked if we could move to a table that was not being used. The waitress, who was very nice, said the table was reserved. That confused us a little as I also made a reservation but was squeezed into smaller table. The decided to bring out a chair and the chair was so high, it was very awkward. My son's knees were the same height as the table. We asked the waitress to speak to her manager and we were able to move after that, but not sure why we had to go through all that. The food overall was OK, but I thought the fish and chips were pretty good. By the way.. the table that was "reserved" was still never filled by the time we left.
OK place overall, with reasonable prices and also close to Rosemont Theatre, which is a bonus. Just hope the front of the house may be a bit friendlier during your visit.
Unfortunately the heat was not working that day and had just kicked on before we arrived (5:45). We sat in the bar where it was a bit warmer but the only available table was near the door. I ordered the filet medallion sandwich and have never had a chewier piece of meat. Will probably never go back..
We dine at The Ram once a year before we attend our annual family outing to watch The Rockford Icehogs play the Chicago Wolves because it is close to the Allstate Arena and has a parking garage. Our table for 7 was ready for us and the food and service was great.
For the second time four of us chose to meet at the Ram for our annual catch-up dinner. It’s a perfect location, price, selection etc for this occasion.
Food was the only highlight, most appetizers were half-price, good portions, and delicious. Server was sullen and annoyed the entire time. Happy hour drink pours are smaller than average ( 4 ounce wine), so not really a value. Hostess checked me in and then I received email two hours later from Open Table stating I didn't show up. Talked to a different hostess who said she cancelled my reservation and could not fix it, a second one was extremely confused and asked if I wanted to make one ( we had been in the restaurant for two hours). Too many other excellent restaurant options in the Rosemont are to ever go here again.
Waiter was fabulous! Very polite and attentive and refilled our drinks when he saw we were getting low without us even having to ask.
We were sat right upon arriving at reserved table. Great food choices, food was hot and fresh.
Chris our server was wonderful, cheery and quick!
Made a 9:45 reservation on open table. Showed up on time and was told the kitchen was closed. When I told them we had a reservation, they acted like they didn’t have a clue, went and got another worker and he told us they could serve us, but it would be a limited menu. We were NOT happy and left!! I will never book again at RAM!
The staff was very nice, but the food was mediocre. The ambiance felt like a Denny’s, and the Old Fashioneds that we ordered were so sweet and very weak that we had to order an extra shot of bourbon to make them drinkable. It ended up making the drinks over $20 a piece and it was not well made. No problem paying for a great drink, this was not even a good drink. The food was truly just ok, it was edible and ok for a quick bite but I would not go out of my way to go back.
Terrible experience, poor management. Took over an hour to get soups and salads?Soup was luke warm once it arrived. Waitress was very apologetic for slow service, wasn’t her fault at all. Noticed all waitresses waiting for all food orders? Received food only after threading to leave. Food was good, except filet sandwich over cooked. Manager never came over to explain or apologize or credit check. Very disappointed in our experience, may never go back even though we’ve been there in the past and we’re satisfied!!! Seems to have serious kitchen and management issues.
Seems like they over sat the restaurant. Sat right away since I made reservations. Waited 10 minutes for waitress. Waited 20 minutes for drinks. Waited 35 minutes for food. Burger was cold but since we were now hurried no time to complain. Kitchen manager was busting his butt to try to keep up.
First time there, they were very busy but service and food were excellent!
The food was good and original, the beer is absolutely great. The server was friendly and knew the menu.
This place has become old and tired. Both sets of plates came dirty. Beer and food were mediocre at best. Won't be coming back.
Our department headed to the Ram for a holiday lunch. All the staff were very friendly and professional even though it was a busy lunch hour. Our server was just the right amount of attentive and handled all our requests with a smile. Food came out promptly and everyone enjoyed what they had - no complaints!
Gave our party a quiet corner in the bar. Great service and never felt rushed.
Food was cold and was not good . Had to return it back . Service was bad . Will not go back .
Service very slow, drink pours weak and watery and my fried chicken sandwich was like fried cardboard. Very busy and they didn't seem to know how to handle the businesses. Sad sin r I used to live this place but will look to other options next time
Went before concert at Allstate arena
The service was 100% horrible, would not recommend to my family and friends. The of the meals was outrageous, I would definitely go to Capitol Grille instead for my money.
The waitress was rude, and could care less about the customer. The manager was very young but not entoned with what was going on. The next waitress Wendy was nice.
The restaurant smelled terrible you like sewer back up. Then they seem to turn on the AC to move the air. Chilly and stinky. My daughter ordered an egg on her burger that was bad. Other food was ok. Service was great and speedy.
Never again !
Strange waiter with adhd,
Low quality food,
Interior worn out and outdated, needs immediate remodeling
Our waiter Uriel was super great and didn’t forget about us as my first experience was not great. My boyfriend and I enjoyed it and we will go back as long as we can get someone just like Uriel. Your restaurant lacks a host as both times I had to wait for a greeter. My first time good came out cold and waitress was not attentive as she was given a party to waitress and forgot about her tables.
The RAM is usually a good solid choice for either lunch or dinner. I like their beers and their food is usually good. I had their buffalo chicken salad along with their Chicago Blonde beer and it was tasty! The things that I thought could be improved about my dinner was that the restaurant is drafty and it was a cold night, so my wife ate dinner with her coat on. The waitress was awesome in trying to find us a table that would be warmer and also talked to her manager about turning up the heat. Unfortunately, I think it's their building and it did not improve. The other thing that I think could be improved is their pricing as we had salad and a sandwich for dinner and then two beers and the bill was a lot higher than I would have expected once the tax and tip were added. We will also go to dinner to Bulldogs in the suburbs and it's very much like the RAM, but we typically end up paying much less for essentially the same dinner fare.
