Raindancer Steak House Ratings and Reviews
We LOVE dining at Raindancer! Truly a pleasure each and every time we go there. The food is consistently prepared well and the service is always excellent. The menu selections are varied so there is always something for everyone. We are always made to feel special. Thank you Spiro and Nick!!
There is a reason Raindancer is still in business after 43 years. They know how to do it! The service-friendly and very efficient; the food -generous and of top quality and delicious. My group of 9 noisy ladies could not have been easy but the staff was terrific and made us feel valued. We all ordered different items and everyone was happy with their selection! Believe me that never happens. My Lobster Bisque was outstanding as good as I have ever had. The pork chop was scrumptious -bursting with flavor and tenderness even though it was a really thick cut. My chicken breast was equally tender and juicy with a delicious sauce with a generous portion of lump crabmeat-subtle yet tantalizing-was it the tarragon? The shrimp scampi was fabulous -large succulent shrimp -in a perfectly balanced sauce over pasta. The person who ordered the crab cake told us that there is none better -full of large chunks of crab. The steak was outstanding as well. Our cocktails and wine were nice pours not the skimpy ones you sometimes get. We will definitely be back again soon.
The Raindancer, which has been in operation for 38 years has stood the test of time. Being in a highly competitive location ( Palm Beach) the service and food were outstanding! We were visiting for the Flavors menu which is a taste of the participating resturaunts in So. Florida to bring in patrons during the month of September for prices between $35-$45.00 for a 3 course meal. The Raindancer gave us so much food in each course that it was hard to eat the dessert! Fabulous service, caring owner who went out of his way to speak with us and offered us a card to return at a $20.00 discount, great all around dining experience
Waitress was great!
Requested medium rare filet that was over cooked. Mgr. blamed it on the fact that it continues to cook after it is served. Meat was cut after eating part of the lobster tail, buttering and trying the sweet potato, and eat a stalk of asparagus. Mgr. offered only another steak which was declined. No other compensation the $49 meal was offered. Even waitress thought it was "medium" at best.
After many years of not going back to Raindancer after they had closed many years ago, we decided we would give it a try again when we found them on the Flavor of Palm Beach. We each ordered the filet mignon. We were extremely disappointed to find that they each had fatty gristle in them. We also did not care for the flavor of the béarnaise sauce. The service was exceptional and the servers are very personable.
We had a mid afternoon lunch with Friends. There were very few customers and it was after Lunch crowd.
The Service was prompt and Waitress followed up with us to make sure all of our meals and drinks were being properly filled.
We all had various Entries for the mail course 3 out of 4 were very good. One was a Chicken meal that was not very Fresh. It was overdone and tough to chew and lacked a good flavor.
My wife and I had a great experience for our dinner out. We were greeted promptly, enjoyed a drink at the bar (while enjoying the music entertainment), and had a terrific dinner. The staff was very attentive and professional, the food was expertly prepared and delicious with portions that were very generous. We completed our evening with a drink at the bar, and enjoyed a few more songs to round out a very nice evening. Will definitely return, and have already shared our super experience with friends, neighbors and co-workers. Thanks again for a terrific dinner and evening out.
We made reservations for "Flavor Palm Beach." The Flavor menu was not offered when we were seated so when a waiter came to take a drink order we requested it. With a scowl on his face he went and got the flavor menu slid it across the table and snatched the regular menus in front of us away. He just about ran away after that and never did take our drink order. A waitress appeared after twenty minutes and took our drink order then came back for our meal order. We both had a wedge salad which was delicious and then it went down hill. We bother ordered a fillet with shrimp on top. The steaks were cooked as ordered (medium rare) but we have never tasted a dry, flavorless fillet like this before. The beef quality was really poor. Two of the three shrimp were still dirty with the vein on one side where they were split. Theses steaks were not the same quality as they usually serve, they couldn't be after many of the reviews I have read. The place wasn't busy, early birds were leaving and there were only a few tables occupied. I'm not sure if it was the owner or manager in action when he tried to inform these young men who were seated that there weren't any promos going on and they were too late for the early bird. They persisted and he finally went over and took the flavor menu out of hiding. This same man offered us a free drink in the bar as we were leaving and gave my husband a $20 Gift Certificate good on a $100 tab within the next month. We declined and will never be back.
We had a wonderful time. The food was prepared perfectly. The bartender/waitress was attentive and looked out for our every need. The manager came by the table a few times and even filled our wine glasses and brought us a shot each. The musician took our request and after his set came over to the table to thank us for being a good audience. On the way out the manager thanked us again and hugged my date. An amazing evening at The Raindancer. Highly recommended!
Thank you Raindancer Steakhouse for keeping it old-school! The kind folks here were accommodating even though we arrived quite early for our reservation. Our server, "6-ft Susan", was a true gem! She took our cue and was chatty at just the right times without sacrificing exceptional service. A real Pro. Our meal was delicious. My husband and I expected to order beef but found a lovely flounder francaise on the early dining menu. We couldn't resist the great deal and we're glad we decided to order it. Portions were generous and flavorful. The perfectly cooked fish melted in our mouths. Rice and vegetables were quite tasty as well. The early dining deal also came with dessert. We couldn't finish either the ice cream or blonde brownie. Had we known the portions were large we'd probably have skipped the calamari appetizer. We're glad we didn't. It was perfectly cooked and was tender as it should be. Thanks Raindancer! We'll be back again next time we're in town. One more thing... we definitely appreciate our host visiting our table. Another old-school trait that never goes out of style.
My girlfriends and I love Flavor Palm Beach and We started this year with Raindancer Steakhouse as none of us had ever eaten there before. We were quite disappointed with their food. We all ordered the filet with shrimp for our main course and the steak was not a filet cut to start with and there was absolutely no flavor at all. All our meat was cooked wrong as well. The shrimp had a very fishy taste to it as well, with zero seasoning as well. Also the manager came to our table every 10 minutes and kept interrupting our dinner. I can appreciate checking on us, but he hovered over us the whole meal and made it uncomfortable. Their blue cheese wedge salad is very good and was the best part of the meal. The manager asked our opinions about
the food and flavor, and we politely told him we wished the steak and shrimp had been seasoned or had flavor and he said next time he'll put salt and pepper on it for us. My one girlfriend had the mashed potatoes and she said they were box-like and dry. We all enjoy food and are not that picky but we were surprised at the quality after eating at so many other Flavor restaurants previous years.
We took my adult daughter there for her birthday and the entire experience was fantastic starting with Ted the server and Nikki the manager/owner? The salad bar brought back memories from the River House with slabs of cheese fresh veggies amd our favorite toppings. Ted was very patient and helpful with menu choices including letting my wife know that the au poive New York Strip could be done with ground in peppercorns and it was fantastic . We also had an excellent prime rib and Porterhouse as well as a large shrimp cocktail. Nikki stopped by later after we were surprised with a great birthday cheesecake and he charmed us with his politeness, stories and concern for his guests. I felt like I'd been transformed back to the days of personalized service and great food. I highly recommend Raindancers and will return next time we visit from Pittsburgh!
"Old fashioned attentive service where the staff respects their patrons, and the patrons enjoy a delicious meal." If not desiring a big (expensive) steak, the Sunset Menu (4-6 pm) is quite nice. Started out VERY quiet on a Saturday night at 5. By 5:45, tables were full. By 7:30, line was out the door. Will go back again ... "a restaurant from a bygone era. Especially nice for the 55+ patron."
We had been dying to come here because of hearing about the salad bar. Well the salad bar was very small and while different options was a bit dissappointing. The waiter seemed like he would have rather been somewhere else that night. When we ordered my wife asked if there was a small end cut of the prime rib. He said that he did not believe so. This was a Sunday night at 630pm were they already out? He came back and said yes we have one. She ordered it well done and got the sirloin chopped steak medium. They both arrived after a bit and they were the opposite cooked of what we ordered. For the price we would not go back again. Dissappointing.
Celebrated a birthday and had the NY Strip Steak Birthday Meal. The steak was okay but not over the top. Would recommend having the Filet Mignon next time. The salad bar was filled to the brim with lots of fresh veggies and oh sooo good. We ordered the Creamed Spinach and Macaroni & Cheese as additional sides and they were DELICIOUS. In addition to the dessert we
ordered, they brought the birthday girl a slice of yummy chocolate mousse-Last But Not Least : Our server, SUSAN, was PHENOMENAL !!! We enjoyed our visit.
If I could rate restaurant higher, I would! Extraordinary service from the Greeting at the door to the waitstaff to the kitchen! We were celebrating my Birthday and they couldn't have been any more thoughtful. My steak was done just how I like it. My wife's stuffed shrimp were exquisite. Overall a wonderful time.
Time for a facelift! This place has been here since I was a child, and it shows. Hire a professional designer and bring this icon back to what it should be. The French onion soup was so so. The salad bar was clean, well stocked, and offered an adequate selection. The NY Strip was perfectly prepared and tasty, however expected to be a bit more tender. The Sliced Fillet Mignon on seared vegetables was tasty and cooked to order. The pace of service was perfectly executed and we were not rushed. Ted was our server- he was attentive without hovering. Their older female server covered a cough or sneeze with a towel as she passed our table and then proceeded to clean the table next to us with that same towel- UNACCEPTABLE!
We hope for a renovation and might consider a revisit, but not for a couple years!!!...
