This was my first time returning in over three years, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The AC wasn’t working, and the music was so loud that we could barely hear the person sitting across from us. I went with a group of friends, and we all agreed that the place just isn’t what it used to be. To make matters worse, one of our friends, who is six months pregnant, was served last because the waitress got her order wrong twice. If you’re craving sushi, I’d recommend trying one of the many other excellent spots in Houston. Sadly, this restaurant no longer lives up to its former reputation.

When did Ra Sushi turn into a club???? There was a DJ and complimentary shots! We went last night for a chill birthday celebration and it was one of the worst experiences. Our waitress was clearly overwhelmed and unable to handle our table or any table on a Friday night. She made it aware that she couldn’t hear over the loud music which was understandable, we couldn’t hear each other at our table. She was very flustered, which led to her being rude. We were very patient with her during the experience, but when it was time for the checks she became even more flustered because she kept making mistakes. Maybe she was flustered because there was no AC! It was extremely hot in there. I spoke with the manager at the end of the night and he didn’t seem too concerned either! We always visit this location, but it maybe time for us to switch to the City Centre location. Highland Village is not what it used to be!

The service and atmosphere was great. The food was just ok, nothing to write home about. The RA RA shrimp was really good. I would not recommend the burritos. The tempura shrimp roll on happy hour left a lot to be desired. Overall, it is a great place for the atmosphere and drinks but if you are looking for a satisfying culinary experience this may be a place you want to skip.

Waited quite some time for a waitress to come, the hostess was wrong about happy hour time and I requested certain things for my meal and the lady that brought it to me when I corrected it said oh it is that way.

Thought we were going to have a calm classy evening with good sushi. Nope. They had a DJ, super loud almost exclusively playing latin music, strobe lights and whistles every time people were getting shots. Couldn’t hear each other, staff was forgetting stuff, food was subpar and expensive ($150 for 2). Will not be back.
