Great food and service. The new Bar is really well appointed. Exceptional.
We went for our anniversary and it was such an amazing time! Our server was great and recommended perfect wine for our meals!
Food is pretty good, the bar area turned into a night club after 10pm. They have DJ on Friday night. Only complaint is the $50 corkage fee, the highest have seen
Excelente food. Will love to have access to coffee too - lattes will be great. That is the only thing missing
Great drinks. I like the bar program.
Always a great vibe. The new bartender is a star, but I still really appreciate their amazing wine list which is both creative and a good value. Food is always thoughtfully prepared.
With only 3 entrees priced from approximately $28 to $46, Bar Zola is pretty pricey. We shared the petrale sole, which was delicious. We also had the salads roquette, good but not tangy or cheesy enough. I liked the meatball appetizer the least - too acidic. The service was efficient and friendly enough. We sat inside, which was nice, but the AC was cranked way too high. The outdoor seating looked preferable. This is a nice addition to the downtown restaurant scene, classy but casual at the same time.
As always wonderful food. The small round outside tables are simply not big enough for 3 people, especially when the supporting table frame is so badly designed there is not much lag room
First time dining out in awhile and it was a lovely experience. Love the new outdoor setup, we really enjoyed it all.
I live in the neighborhood and have always loved the vibe of the restaurant when I walk by. The food is superb. The service is top notch (I am from NYC so my standards are already high). My only problem is the foot traffic. The restaurant is in downtown Palo Alto and we had to put up with a constant stream of pedestrians walking so it was a bit discombobulating to enjoy our birthday dinner. I will go back gladly.
Always a great time! Small menu but everything is done well and decent portions. Great service, cocktails, good wines by the glass and bottle. Can get a bit noisy/loud inside. A bit steep on corkage ($50) but the wine list is reasonably priced.
Food was very bland and no seasoning at all.
Ordered the gnocchi and sole. Both were cooked well butsauce lacked any flavor.
Loved the cocktails! The food was delicious as usual. Always loved Zola so glad to see them back open for dining.
Always enjoy their food here. Gnocchi and chocolate mousse were outstanding! So glad to be able to sit at their table again.
Best bar and restaurant in Palo Alto hands down. Fantastic wine list and diverse selection of wines by the glass. The menu has something for everyone and the bretzels were hard to stop ordering throughout the meal. Didn't have a chance to try a cocktail but I am guessing they tasted and as good as they looked. Can't wait to go back.
Wonderful Sole entree. prepared in a novel manner, fried on just one side. Absolutely delicious. The Beurre Blanc sauce was excellent over the French beans. Just two desserts offered but both were excellent
We arrive at 5:30 for dinner, party of four. Our server was nice however it took a while for food to be served to us. We order appetizers and entrees and we seemed to wait longer than normal in between the different dishes. The flavors were not as amazing as our previous dining experience, the previous experience was like eating at a Michelin Star restaurant. This time it was good but not amazing. We will give Zola another try, hopefully the next experience is better.
Outstanding customer service. Superb food.
Fantastic French food in the heart of Silicon Valley.
Great food, lovely ambiance, low noise level.
Zola is our favorite restaurant in Palo Alto.
This was our first time at Zola and we enjoyed it quite a bit. The dishes were inventive, impeccably prepared, and delicious. Wines by the glass were great and paired well with the menu. Highly recommended!
The food is fantastic, it's just awfully noisy. The service was a bit slow, but it was a crowded night. I'd still go again.
We went to Zola day after the Valentine Day because it is very hard to make a reservation due to its popularity.
The food was amazing. My BF said the filet was one of the best he had in years! I ordered Mary's chicken and it was so tender.
The service was wonderful too.
This was--and is--by far the best restaurant in the wasteland of Palo Alto food. The pork chop is incredible, as were their scallop special and their seafood special. Here's what I think of Zola--I had business dinners three nights in a row in Palo Alto. I ate at Zola three nights in a row. What more can I say (or do)? It is exceptional from the warm bread to start (actually included in the food bill, how quaint is that) to the fabulous deserts. Very reasonably priced for the quality.
Food and service is always phenomenal!
Had a great birthday dinner with them. The food had so much flavor. Many vegan options. The service was top. Thanks for the experience.
average meals for exuberant cost. avoid their vegeterian offerings
My favorite place. Always something new on the menu.
We waited 25 minutes to get a table (we had a reservation), then another 25 minutes to get our order taken, then another 30 minutes to get our dishes. My NY strip was ok but had no salt on it, and the pork chop was dry and barely eatable. When you pay $35-40 for a dish, you would expect the seasoning and the meat cooking to be perfect, that was not the case! Moreover, the waiter pushed us a lot to get a starter, which we did not want. Overall a poor experience.
We had a wonderful evening. Great service,
Friendly staff and incredible food!
Zola was a great choice for a dinner with my wife. The dim lighting offered a warm, intimate mood and despite how small and packed the restaurant looked, in no way was any conversation impeded between the two of us. Food was great and the recommendations from our waitress were all amazing. The wine selection was great and paired well with the food.
Like this restaurant - intimate and great food. They sat us 30 min after our reservation...diners before us lingered. Feels expensive but not unusual for the area. Look forward to checking out the full bar they are opening next door.
Everything was delicious! We shared 2 appetizers (grilled octopus with paprika aioli and ricotta gnocchi), 1 main (winter squash tart), and 2 desserts (apple tart and caramel coffee mousse). Probably my favourite meal ever and I only regret not visiting before.
Zola is always a delight, our "go-to" place for a celebration, or a casual night out. Old favorites mixed with seasonal plates keeps the menu fresh and interesting. Thank you Zola!
Outstanding.... exquisite..... memorable.... some of the best food around. A big shout out to Dana and the whole staff who took such good care of us.
Zola is beautiful. Zola's food is beautiful. Zola's menu and special's are beautiful. Zola's customer care is beautiful. Zola's management is beautiful Beauty is an ideal of form and an ideal of goodness paired with love. I am in love.
What a wonderful evening! This was our first time here and they made our anniversary unforgettable from the moment we sat down to the moment we left. My boyfriend and I both feel we could come here any given day of the week because the food was so superb—I am still craving it. I had the daily catch and he had the pork chop; we started with the seared black cod and the bone marrow (absolutely recommend). Our server guided us through our food and wine decisions very well, so every bite was complemented with ease. They also have an unique array of delicious variations to the kir royale cocktail. Keep in mind that we are in lovely Palo Alto and there aren’t many restaurants where you could exclude price from the conversation, but Zola will make it worth every penny.
I have always had wonderful food at this restaurant. It is quieter now than when it first opened due to sound proofing efforts. Because the space is small, tables are placed very closely together. The downside is that conversations are overheard. The upside is that I always have an interesting conversation with neighboring tables!
The food was fantastic - we loved everything we ate. The sunchoke appetizer was so good, and the winter squash tart had the most amazing crust. The flavors were perfectly balanced. It was a bit loud, but other than that it was great.
Outstanding service as always.
