Can’t wait to get to eat inside. Food and drinks were fabulous! Service was exceptional.
I brought 2 friends with me to try Zocalo's for the first time and they loved it just as much as I do. The food is outstanding and has been on my last 3 visits!
The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Loved the menu variety and it was perfect for a girls dinner.
Order the chicken tortilla soup, best I’ve ever had!
They honored my notes about being seated next to the warmer. The server was attentive and super nice.
We enjoyed dinner outside under their heated tent in the rain. This may sound less than appealing to most, but it was honestly amazing. The service was great and the staff were all in great spirits even with having to walk back and forth from inside the restaurant. We ordered a combination taco platter with the carnitas, asada and baja fish. The baja fish was by far my favorite, but the tortillas are what made these even more superb. They were thick and had a hint of sweet corn. The fresh guacamole was also delicious. Oh! And the pitcher of a classic margarita sealed the deal. We hope to be back again soon!
Even though it’s O
It was good to try it out. Using the phone to order and pay for the service ahead of time took getting used to. It makes it not as personable as having a person take your order and be able to ask questions. It is one reason I may not frequent the restaurant as much. I prefer a server to take an order and be able to ask questions if I have them.
Food and drinks always great. Our waiter was friendly. Always enjoy my time at zocalo
Using the APP to order leads to poor service.
3rd visit since opening and each time wait staff less attentive. They have no idea what you’ve ordered and forget things’
Good food. Service wasn’t up to Zocalo standards
Delicious food, wonderful service, so thankful for this restaurants perseverance during the pandemic. We will support them all we can. I Family went back to eat there the next night.
Enjoyed the shrimp tacos (very good), a favorite was the chicken enchiladas in mole sauce, excellent. Sauce was mild & a little on the sweet side. As always the guacamole appetizer is the best. Chips were fresh and not salty. Nice.. Thank you for cutting the salt.
I think they are still working out the kinks.
Excellent food and service! Great location, not quite as nice interior as Sacramento.
I was celebrating my 73rd birthday there. The staff were so friendly, delightful, and helpful. It was a great event for me and my date. Loved it!
We really did not like their system for taking orders. You have to download an app and then place your drink order through that app. The app downloaded ok but when we went to place the order (after 15 minutes of staring at our phones trying to feed hungry kids) the app did not work and ended up having to order through the manager. It was 45 minutes from when we arrived to actually getting our drinks! After we got our drinks we were able to order the food from the actual server and everything else was fine.
The one very odd thing about the ambience is that they have a giant doorway going into the back kitchen area where they make chips. The bright fluorescent lights flow right into the dining area and customers can see a bunch of chips and stuff on the floor in there and people's personal water bottles, etc.
Overall, they should dim all of the lights in the whole place, figure out a better plan for the chip making area and get rid of the app for ordering. No one likes it, not even the servers. If this restaurant were in a big city or Las Vegas, it would be out of business rather quickly in my opinion.
Everything was very good. My issue was my seat wasn’t clean and there were tortilla chip remnants on the table.
The experience was great. The temp got a little chili when they left the door open to the outdoor area to the bar but the staff was very courteous when asked to close it.
The food was sub par. I had to send my dish back because the cheese was not melted. I've eaten at the Zocalos in Roseville several times and this one was not as good. Pretty building and nice waitress bit I will not go back for the food.
Finally after 4 weeks we got a reservation for our family of four. New décor is very well done, hostesses were the best (unusual these days). Got nice table but then we had to navigate the darn menu on the phone. Thanks goodness our waiter helped and helped and helped totaling nullifying the COVID inspired electronic menu. Suggestion: If the diner is over 40, give them a paper menu to order instead of it taking over 10+ minutes to order. Thankfully, the food was great and we were glad we tried Zocalo. One other suggestion, work with Folsom Fire to develop a way to use space heaters for outdoor dining.
The restaurant is beautiful inside and out. The food was delish and I am sure we will be back. My only disappointment was the drinks. I was looking forward to having a Blackberry Margarita and it was seriously watered down.
This was my first time at Zocalo in Folsom and it won’t be the last. Our lunch was very enjoyable, even though we ate on the outside patio and it was very cold the waitress made sure to put the heat lamps on for our comfort. The food was so good, I had the tacos americano (I think that’s what it was called?) and the chicken was amazing.
Food was amazing, my daughter I got the mix tacos and my son had the m8x enchiladas. Everything was great. Service was excellent. Will be back.
I LOVE this restaurant! Everything about it is great. Our server, Tori was really friendly and very attentive. The food is so flavorful - the tortillas are awesome. Would highly recommend Zocalos!
Experience was great. Cocktails were tasty. Meats were a little well done. Definitely will try again
We got there early, quick service. Our food was out right away. The contact free menu was excellent and the waiters didn’t check on us too frequently which I actually liked. Overall excellent ambience, would highly recommend and I’d love to try more of their menu.
Birthday dinner was amazing!
My husband and I enjoyed the food but our server wasn’t the best from the very start. She was very nice and personable but took a while to come take our order and basically forgot about us most of the time. It seemed she was preoccupied with something else. We also were seated under a speaker and it was super loud. We like music so that’s not an issue but I felt like we were almost yelling at each other while trying to talk over the music. Thankfully it was turned down a notch but it was still pretty loud. Someone else either said something or someone working there realized how loud it was. We will go again and hopefully have a little better experience. I’m sure kinks are being worked out.
Server forgot about us but I don’t know if that was due the shift change. Other than that everything was great
Food and experience were great. The prices seemed a bit high considering it was lunch.
The decor and ambiance lead us to believe it was supposed to be more upscale food. Unfortunately, their offerings were on the lower side of basic. The cilantro lime rice was undercooked and had too much cilantro for our taste. The black beans were ok, but tasted canned.
I had the trio of enchiladas which were ok. Each sauce was good. My wife had three tacos and said other local restaurants were better.
We wanted to like it better but probably won’t be back unless they change their menu.
First time. We ate inside and enjoyed it very much. Great service.. will go again.
I ordered 3 tacos: Shrimp taco was good but fish taco seemed like fried fish from store stuck in soft taco shell. Though I love spicy foods, the carne asada taco was unexpectedly very spicy. My wife ordered a shrimp burrito which was huge but tasted average.
I ordered the veggie burrito and it was mostly rice. I only saw small pieces of veggies that I couldn't even identify. Truly disappointing. I will not return!
Eric, Becky and Anthony are awesome!! Great service. We will definitely be returning again soon! Highly recommend. We love the margaritas and the happy hour. Great quality
Had lunch outside. Tables well spaced. Very comfortable
This was my first experience that is Zocalo restaurant, and I will definitely be back. The food In-service were both great.
The dinner took a little longer than expected but the food was worth the wait and servers were very polite and attentive. Great experience overall and we will be back soon!
Very slow service. They’re still working out the kinks I’m sure. My fish tacos were awesome but others in my party were underwhelmed.
