Great food, service, and atmosphere.
Our last visit was in August 2021, and it appears now that the portion size has been cut down greatly over what we had 3 months ago. We were a bit disappointed.
This is a local gem in the visitors center. Took us awhile to find it, but we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner before the UK BB game there. Two of us had the pork plate and I had the Bourbon trail chili. We each had a hoecake (Corn bread) and the meal was complete. I would definitely go back here again.
Ate here prior to a concert at Rupp, and loved it! Food was delicious, menu was creative (but not weird), and we all really enjoyed what we ordered. Bar looked inviting, and I will have to go back sometime to try some of their offerings. Great downtown spot!
Wonderful dinner experience. Our server was friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Food was great! We can't wait to go back.
Very nice place.. good quality food, and prices still reasonable. Portions kind of small. Some unique takes on many dishes.
Pretty quiet for a Thursday night. This seems to be more of a lunch place as they were out of several things by dinner. Food was good. The Windy corner has many of the same items and I thought they were better prepared there.
Service was good.
Perfect meal prior to a basketball game. Wasn't stuffed but extremely satisfied!
Went with a group of seven with a reservation. We were seated immediately; the restaurant was not busy. Very excited to find quite a few vegan options. Several of us ordered them so I was able to sample more than just mine. Super tasty! Our server was great. Very prompt. Kept my coffee refilled. Too enthusiastic thumbs up.
we had such a good time...celebrating a friend's birthday...and all was perfect!
Zim's Cafe was inviting and everyone working there was incredibly nice. The service was outstanding and quick! I had the pulled pork platter and a Cosmopolitan. Both were great!
Food excellent. Bre did a great job serving us.
Always a pleasure to dine here. The food is always excellent. The staff is super friendly and efficient. I love that you can make reservations.
Great food, we had catfish and porkchops with greens and chesse grits. All done very well. Finished with Bourbon Pecan Pie. Humble but good atmospere, cheerful, attentive service. A very good experience, and great value for quality.
Nice menu selection of sandwiches, I had shrimp and grits, creamy grits with lightly seasoned shrimp and lots of butter. Great fried artichokes with mild remulade sauce. Artwork was a nice touch, service was great. Maybe a new place, will become popular.
Another fantastic Ouita Michel restaurant, this one low- to medium-priced. I had the salmon, which was great. Any of Ouita's restaurants is always a safe bet for a kickass dining experience. Outdoor seating made me feel safer.
One high point of this place is that it's connected to The Thirsty Fox and has a variety of brewed adult beverages on tap, many of them locally produced. I had the RockHouse porter on tap.
Recommend? Hell, yeah!
Great service, excellent menu, and tasty food. My Go-To dining spot when I want to sit and talk to a friend over a good meal in a friendly space.
Good meal as usual
Food was delicious. Unfortunately for us, there was a large group of guys that was really loud-not the restaurants fault though.
The artichoke appetizer and the fried pickles were delicious. The cocktails were very good as well. The hot brown was amazing. The pork chop was the best ever. The macaroni salad was so good. The chili was very good. The chess pie was outstanding. Can’t wait to go back.
Best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had!!!!
Loved the patio setting. Drinks and preparation of food was excellent. But the one big complaint was the tiny portion of salmon served to two of the three whom ordered it It looked as if one serving was halved to serve to two. We do enjoy this owner’s dining establishments overall but disappointed w two of the serving sizes
We really enjoyed our pre-concert dinner. The food was very good and the staff were very nice.
The food was really good. I had the catfish and it was some of the best I’ve ever had. My daughter had the shrimp and grits and was impressed. We both had the greens for a side , outstanding!
Food was absolutely delicious and our waitress was very efficient and friendly. We could not have been more pleased. We were there for UK family weekend, and it was by far the very best place we ate all weekend and will definitely be returning!
Dinner on the patio, very enjoyable
Went for the music great Atmosphere expect to be patient for service.
Traveling through Lexington with family. Great food. Cool
Setting in an old courthouse building. Setting was perfect for our family!
The menu had an ample selection of a variety of dishes. The burgers were declared excellent - top of the line! The catfish was very good, as were the Cuban sandwich, the chicken sandwich, and the club sandwich. The grits were interesting/unique and very tasty. The artichoke fritters and the baked brie appetizers were really tasty too. The only disappointment were the French fries which were overcooked. The service was great and we ate at an off time (Monday evening at 7:00) so we were seated in the Thirsty Fox part of the place and it was nice and quiet. The prices were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Zim's to anyone looking for a very nice meal downtown.
Food and service was awesome. Would go again. Sat outside and had a nice view of the ciry.
Great food, quick service, and friendly staff!
Our server was awesome and he kept up with us. Thank you!!
The food...I was not impressed when 2 people order the same food and each plate is different.
The Hot Brown (2) one came out looking beautiful. The plate was full. The 2nd plate looked like its skinny cousin. It was sent back to make it look better. They were very tasty!!
Chicken fingers (2) one came out dark and one came out golden and juicy.
The pork cutlet was over cooked and very dry.
The shrimp n grits was the one meal that came out perfectly!! The shrimp were perfect. The grits with the sauce was delicious!!
I would have to give them a second chance when there isn't a labor shortage.
It was nice. The radio was too loud to hear conversation and we were early before the crowd.
the food was great, but the noise level was so energetic.....we had a hard time hearing each other!!
All was fantastic, reasonably priced with excellent and knowledgeable service.
Service was just ok. Food was marginal. I had the pulled pork. The pulled pork was dry and average at best. The corn meal pancake was tasteless. The best thing I had was the coleslaw. Nothing on the menu was unique. If you like routine bar food this place is for you.
The food, service and interior design were awesome. Our only complaint was the extremely loud bass music that was playing outside.
Food was exceptional at a reasonable price.
Dinner was fabulous!! The prime rib Restaurant Week Special is a real value and delicious! Parking on street meters after 5:00 and weekends is free all around the courthouse. I will remember Zim’s and sister restaurant The Thirsty Fox for easy dinner out more often.
Large menu with good specials and great food. Service was slow despite a nearly empty restaurant.
