Large menu with good specials and great food. Service was slow despite a nearly empty restaurant.
I love Zims especially their specials with veggies!
My husband & I thought it was great. Great food & great service! Will definitely be back!!
We had such a great dinner! Party of 8 and it was the perfect setting to visit and enjoy dinner and the company. Food was amazing!
The burger with pimento cheese is amazing! Though we didn't partake, the bakery items looked great.
Absolutely a wonderful evening! Requested a quiet secluded area for 8 women to meet on a Friday night and they delivered - above and beyond! Thx tk our server, Bree, and Zims Staff.
I’m picky about my shrimp and grits. And Zim’s are quite possibly the best I’ve ever had. Each component (shrimp, grits, roux) was delicious and perfectly cooked. The thinly cut fried onion rings topping them gave a little added texture. My only criticism of the whole dinner is that my pecan pie was not warm. I’ll know to ask them to heat it a little next time.
Salmon. Salad. Brussel sprouts, all very good. Will be back.
Seated promptly on slow week night. Coctail served with no napkin, bottled beer served with no glass. No dinner menu provided until waiter came to take our order and saw us staring at the what turned out to be the sandwich menu. Food was tasty but served at what will be generous referred to as "room temperature"...not appealing. This is my second trip here with a better service experience but a similar food complaint. I will not likely go out if my way to come back.
The food was delicious. The service was excellent. Zim's is one of our favorite places to eat.
I had the Kentucky PO Boy and it is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had in Lexington. The fried Banana Peppers are also delicious. We had a party of 4 and all of the food each of us had was exceptional.
Good food and service. Drinks were tasty, great atmosphere.
Nice meal at good prices. Good service, broad menu
It was awesome! Service was great, quiet atmosphere and the food was excellent!
We live Zim’s!!!! A wonderful addition to our downtown!! Always great service and the food is excellent!!!
I stopped in for lunch and ordered the steamed vegetables with crispy tofu. The vegetables we well prepared and beautiful. The tofu was excessively oily and not crispy, as if the oil wasn’t hot enough.
The restaurant was slow and my waitress wasn’t present after my meal was served until I was almost finished.
I have dined at several of Ouita’s restaurants, so I know the preparation and service can be improved; hopefully sooner than later.
Food & service were good - just not special. Hubby liked his shrimp. Oyster po’boy tasty, just not enough oysters & too much bread. Potato chips were awful- get a new vender
Ha a table reserve for Zims, but we were moved over to the other bar area for seating it was not busy at all. It was cold for one thing You shouldn’t have to wear your coat to eat inside.. I ordered the pimento cheese shaved country ham grilled sandwich. It was not grilled the bread was toasted so therefore it was not a hot sandwich they said it would be. I had to ask for hot coffee because it was cold. The atmosphere was nice however it’s not where we requested seating.
Always a great experience. Lovely atmosphere, great service and excellent food!!!!!
Booked dinner reservations for NYE the night before. A lot of our normal "go to" places were already booked and we wanted to eat close to downtown. The space is a little noisy, but everything else was great. Wait staff were on the ready, the food was local and amazing, and our dinner entrees were each $15 that might have been twice that at other restaurants. I had a steak special and the wife had the salmon special. Both came with two large portion sides. We also have fried pepper rings for an appetizer and the plate looked like it had a pound of them on there. We only ate about half, because we knew we had meals coming (we took them home and heated them up the next day). Not greasy at all.
We will be back.
We had a large party and they seated us in the Thirsty Fox. The burgers were great, the specials were well-prepared, and the drinks were wonderful. I highly recommend Zim's!
This is my 4th time to Zim’s and I’ve enjoyed my meal every time!
Everything was great. Wish the dining room was a bit more cozy for dinner.
Our meal was excellent and service amazing. The special family-style holiday event was very well done. Food was served hot and seconds were encouraged. Chocolate bread pudding was to die for.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and have told several of our friends about it. We hope
you continue these special Sunday supper events. I also appreciate the opportunity to meet Chef Quita. She makes dining magical!
Christmas date !! The service was fantastic!! The chicken and tenderloin would melt in your mouth ,it was cooked to perfection. I hadScallop potatoes, sweet potatoes, A rice melody, and cheesy Brussels sprouts . For the main course and everything was so good that each one of them was my favorite! bread pudding was to die for! My husband and I love this place we will be going back!!
This is the third time I've eaten, usually seated in the Thirsty Fox but this time in the bright Zim's Cafe. Food was great. Four friends had a leisurely dinner and lots of time to talk. A really nice addition to downtown.
We had reservations but didn’t need them. It wasn’t busy at all, there were maybe five other tables occupied on a Saturday night. We were seated promptly and then sat and watched as four servers walked past us for 20 minutes, tending to tables immediately around us, and none of them acknowledged us or even glanced our way. My husband wanted to leave, but I wanted artichoke fritters, so I finally stopped a server to ask if she could take our order. She seemed angry about it and stayed annoyed the entire evening. We ordered drinks, which she messed up, we ordered an appetizer and dinner which were lackluster compared to the other restaurants in the brand family. Another server noticed my empty glass and brought refills. It was a bizarre experience, as even the restaurant owner walked through the room at one point, admonishing the four servers who were standing around to light the lanterns on the table, but she never spoke to any customers and I don’t think there was a manager on duty. My lemon bar from the bakery case was stale. At the end of the night, we walked around the building to see it, and walked back through the restaurant to leave and one of the servers who had been in the room with us for an hour greeted us like we just arrived. A bizarre experience all around, for sure, and definitely not what I expected from this brand.
The food was outstanding! The service was so-so, but the quality and taste of the food more than made up for it. So many wonderful-sounding items on the menu - it was hard to choose. The salmon and the pork chop were delicious and so were the sides. This was our first visit, but we’ll be back!
Kind of a disappointment. Not what I expected from Ouita Michel.
It was the first time I tried Zim's and it was a really great experience. There is a great vibe and delicious menu. It's a great place for lunch!
Great dinner before a short walk to the Opera House on a rainy evening. There was plenty of room at our booth of three and the environment was pleasant. Our waitress was kind in getting our order in timely due to our rush on getting to a show. I ordered the blackened Catfish and it was AMAZING!!! the butternut squash and zucchini mix plus a side salad made for the perfect combination.
Great place! We enjoyed the variety of offerings and the drink options.
Have visited Zim's several times, but always for lunch and always had good service. Decided to meet a friend for dinner, and the server brought the wrong meal which was eaten anyway as the service was slow. Food was good as always though.
Very little atmosphere - would advise to eat in the bar.
Great place to meet with friends. Awesome old fashion cocktails and burgers are delicious.
I was underwhelmed by my visit to Zim's Cafe. I have eaten to-go here before, and at all of Ouita Michel's other restaurants and was pleased with all of those visits. However, the food was "meh", the restaurant was empty, and it just wasn't what I wanted my girl's night out with my mom to be. I will give it another try, but not any time soon.
Always a pleasure to dine here. Food is excellent and always consistent in quality and taste. Definitely a family favorite. We love to bring people here!!!!!
Dined on patio outside of bar area! Very enjoyable! Our waiter was great and attentive. Food was good! Would definitely go again!
Great service! Super quick, and amazing food.
