They were out of rotisserie chicken. Had the roast pork - not very good. Didn’t like The gravy they put on it. The almond shrimp appetizer was better than the entre.
Went to their newest location which was supposed to be an experimental concept to revitalized the brand. Unfortunately this new concept lost the Zea charm of a cozy location to a bright TGIF like feeling. Further the food did not have its home cooked savory taste. The mediterranean hummus in the past was large order of hummus with sun dried tomatoes, various toppings and warm pita bread. Unfortunately, this time the hummus tasted store bought, did not have the various toppings and the pita bread was luke warm to cold. The server was slow as well. Zea had it right with their Garden District location, it unfortunate that it’s closed and that’s when the restaurant jumped the shark. My last time visiting Zea.
This was our third time at Zea's on Metairie Road and I-10. It was very good!
Wish they would bring Mizado back. Food not that great. Ahi tuna salad was terrible. Wine too expensive for the pour size. Won’t go back.
Amazingly fresh but quick food!
Dining room dark & uninviting. Sat at table in bar area. Very noisy, slow service & food not as good as Clearview location. Won't be coming back here & unfortunately this location is close to our home.
The service was prompt and the food was excellent and our waitress catered to our needs.
No one was at desk when I arrived. Several people waiting to be seated. Hostess never asked my name even though I said we had a reservation. She was abrupt and rude and dismissive. When another of my guests arrived and said she was meeting friends, hostess told her"they are not here!"
Food was good and our waitress very nice but I WILL NOT RETURN NOR RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE!
Jake was an awesome server!
The service was good and the food was delicious. We enjoyed ourselves and would recommend to friends.
Liked that they have some of Mizado favorite dishes- hope they keep them.
Great food great service!
Always good...but the Brussels sprout appetizer was extra good and appreciated the healthy cooking options on our meals as well...grilled salmon steamed veggies...
I love eating at Zea’s with friends. This new location provides a sunny atmosphere and lots of great parking spaces.
Food is great and the service is superb. My only complaint is I find it rather noisy.
The food was excellent and our server, Cat, was exceptional. I got my usual, the BBQ chicken with roasted corn grits and quinoa for the sides. The chicken was so moist and flavorful and those sides are my favorites! My husband loves the portobello veggie panini
Great service and food!
Server was a little distracted
We made our reservations on OpenTable, and when we showed up five minutes before, we were rudely told that they were closed and were not seating. When I mentioned that open table still was taking reservations, they said “it’s not what’s on the door “
The food was extremely salty, over cooked, and burnt. Not a Happier Happy Hour compared to Mixado. Disappointment.
The food and service was great. The music was all pop and WAY too loud. I felt like I was in a club, not a restaurant. It was hard to talk to the guest across the table.
The crispy Brussels sprouts are awesome. And of course the corn grits. Atmosphere in the dining room is weird. Not the best. But not bad. Still a fine meal.
Christmas Dinner with grandkids
Loved the hummus and the garlic herb chicken. The sangria was wonderful also. I wish they had $1 Martini specials like Mizado's had.
Very good. Food, service and overall experience were all very good.
Normally this restaurant is our go to place for delicious food and great atmosphere. However, this particular occasion the service was Awful! Hoping this was just a fluke and not a trend.
First visit here - they were out of several choices on the menu, but overall satisfactory.
Meal for five was great with many options for all to consider. Service was nice with some off menu craft beer selections available. Staff split check without any hassle multiple ways. Great experience with out of town guests.
I celebrated my 30th Birthday with my family and it was perfect. The service was great and the food was outstanding!
Roasted Chicken was precooked and not hot coming out of the kitchen and fish entree was soggy...not like the original Zeas. A real disappointment.
Great service. Staff was wonderful - attentive without being overbearing. My entire party arrived at different times and we were not made to feel uncomfortable. Kudos!!!!
Everything was perfect! The best Zea. The duck tamale was unique, delicious and a fantastic presentation. Great guacamole. Wonderful Thai ribs! Very good fish tacos.
Reagan our waitress was GREAT!! Until she brought the check. I seen we purchased the bottle of La'Creme for $15.00 dollars. Ooops that's right it wasn't the price for the bottle, it was for ONE GLASS of WINE!! $15.00 bucks for a glass.
Thanks Reagan for making the experience worth coming back for.
Great food as usual! Nice prices on bottles of champagne and wine!
My new Zea location. It wasn’t crowded. We were seated immediately. The food came very quick and it was delicious!! Our server Mel was excellent. I would definitely recommend this location.
We went to Zea for Friday night dinner. We couldn't agree on what we wanted and Zea's menu is pretty diverse. We know and like Zea, but this was the first time we had been to the new one on Metairie Road. Used to go there when it was Semolina and Mizado, though, so we are very familiar with it. The food was very good. The service, not so much. They explained that their computer went down, but they should have a back-up plan for getting orders into and out of the kitchen when this happens. Also, they were seating guests at tables that still had the checks on them from the prior guests. There were several tables like that. After we were seated, it took too long for them to bring water, too long for them to take drink orders. When we weren't ready to order our entrees immediately when the drinks hit the table, I had a bad feeling that the waitress wouldn't come back to take our order for quite a while. I was right. The next thing that happened was another waitress came and told us our food would be out shortly, but we hadn't even ordered. She took our order and after that, it didn't take too long for the food to come out. The food was very good, but I have a problem with them charging me $5.50 for a side dish. My meal came with 2 sides. I ordered one from the regular menu and one from the "special" menu. The regular sides are $3.50 and the "special" ones are $5.50. On the bill, they charged me $5.50 for the sauteed spinach. I thought they would just charge me $2.00 extra for the difference in price. That's just not right to charge me the full freight when I substituted an item that was only $2.00 more than the one I would have gotten otherwise. The food was good, though. The best things were the fried catfish, the duck, the salmon and the grits. Everything else was okay, nothing to write home about. Hope they work out the kinks in service.
Service extremely slow. No broccoli. Food okay but not great
Great service who can roll with picky eaters, additional people, and a busy lunch hour. Fast. Good. Elegant. Something for everyone.
Dined at Zea's to support hurricane relief. It was our first time at this location. Will not be the last! The wait staff was excellent and the food was up to the standard we have come to expect from Zea!
They closed Mizado (interesting and unique take on Peruvian and Spanish dishes) to re-open as Zea's "but kept some beloved Mizado dishes". Sorry, friends, this is just Zea's with guacamole and a few margaritas on the menu. Zea's has a time (early 2000) and a place (Kenner's chain restaurant capital), but Metairie Rd isn't the place for this restaurant. The food is always decent, but lacks interest.
Great for a quick dinner that you know won't break the bank. But, i'd suggest looking elsewhere for the inspired cuisine you've come to expect of New Orleans and surrounding areas.
