The service is impeccable. Our waiter was attentive, friendly but not overbearing. He explained the dishes and made recommendations to our tastes. The goat moussaka was delicious as were the brussels sprouts and pork belly souvlaki. Overall, fabulous time, delicious food, pleasant ambiance.

Zaytinya is very different from Jose Andres' other restaurants. There is zero molecular gastronomy, deconstruction, or whimsical interpretations that you frequently associate with hims restaurants. Instead the food is served tapas style small plates and nearly everything is rich and hearty. I did the Chef's Tasting Experience ($65) which consisted of 4 courses of 3-4 popular items and some chef's choices. The most memorable plates for me were the grilled octopus, sea scallops, and brussel sprouts. We also had the taramasalata and truffle pide. My Greek friend found the taramasalata to be a watered-down Americanized version. The truffle pide is MUST if you are a black truffle fan. The desserts were lackluster and the ice cream was melted by the time it came to the table. Our server Sue-Ling was fantastic and had great wine recommendations. The food runners were knowledgeable about food but seemed very rushed when setting the plates down. I'm in my mid 20s and I noticed nearly 80% of the crowd there was in the 50+ age group. If I were to come back, I would skip the Tasting Experience and order on my own with guidance from my server.

Except for the noise level, this place is a gem. The food and service are outstanding. The price is incredibly reasonable for the quality. Our server was amazing in making sure that our food allergies were addressed, and that no one with an allergy could mistakenly eat the wrong thing. This is very unusual in my restaurant experience. Everything was very tasty.

I have always enjoyed this restaurant. Menu is interesting and varied. Small plate format allows for great sampling. Parts of the restaurant are very loud. Outdoor patio is excellent place to be in nice weather. The service is attentive and good. Can be a bit pricey.

We decided on this restaurant for our long overdue get together with friends. I made reservations, even though we wanted an early meal at 5:30, and so glad I did as it got busy quickly. We were seated in a place that allowed us to have a private conversation in a otherwise busy environment. Our servers were very helpful and speedy. Every small plate was an excellent choice. We had a variety of vegetables and meat plates. Although I'm not a Brussels sprouts person, I really enjoyed them roasted with the sauce that disappeared too quickly. By the end of the meal, all four of us were filled without feeling that we spent too much money. Whatever, it was a wonderful meal with great friends.

Very good small dishes and overall food, very poor service. We visited at 3:00 pm in the afternoon and you would have thought we walked in dragging our own table. The staff was oblivious.
