There was just so much food. It just kept coming and coming. Everything tasted so delicious
Once again, a very enjoyable experience. I will be back.
Amazing food, great service. It was very busy and yet surprisingly easy to carry on a conversation.
Food is difference but excellent need not be afraid to try it.
The food here is always good and the ambiance nice. The fresh warm break kept coming and lunch portions were more than adequate. The one complaint it that it look an hour and 45 min to each lunch since it took over an hour to receive our entrees.
The spot was really tasty. I took two friends for the first time and they both enjoyed the warm bread given at the tables as well as the small plates. My one complaint would have to be that when we came in, we had ordered the fried squid and was told they were out. That was okay, we decided to order the sea scallops. Our waiter comes back and lets us know they were out of that as well. We tried again with the octopus and he comes back yet again to tell us the kitchen did not have that either. Our table couldn't help but feel a slight frustration and annoyance since it was dishes were all excited to try. I got the chicken skewer instead, but was definitely disappointed at the running out of seafood options.
The food was excellent and the chef was able to find a selection of entrees that one of the other diners could eat despite having a garlic + onion allergy. Something that I know is very difficult in a Med restaurant. The only downside of this meal was that we ordered cocktails up front, but they never appeared. To be fair, it was a very busy night - so perhaps that's what drove that issue. I will be back here.
Excellent food, I liked the mezzo concept with small plates and off course the combination of Turkish, Lebanese and Greek. Pretty crowdy restaurant, therefore a bit noisy. Next time when I go to DC I absolutely go here again,
Zaytinya was great as usual. The food is consistent, and the services is solid. One of our favorite places to eat.
Excessively noisy. Service friendly and informative. The advice that each diner would want to order 4 "small" plates should be ignored. The plates aren't that small and 4 plates would be excessive unless the goal was gluttony. Service was friendly and efficient.
Every time I go there I think it is the best restaurant I have every been to (except if I drive in traffic).
We enjoyed a family dinner and got to try a lot of different dishes.
I thought brunch was respectable, but not particularly good. The bread they bring you is nice, but all of the brunch dishes we ordered were essentially mediocre: the French toast was merely good French toast, the poached egg and Greek yogurt dish was far too runny (imagine a poached egg topped with a very thin liquid sauce), the olive oil pancakes were... just like regular pancakes, no better than you'd get at IHOP.
We ordered hummus with the bread and the hummus was no better than you'd get from the grocery store. My Bloody Mary, despite supposedly involving harissa, was bland and frankly worse than I would get out of a decent bottled mix.
Generally would not suggest coming here for brunch, or if you do, just order off the regular menu.
Zaytinya is my favorite Mediterranean restaurant in DC. The food is so carefully prepared and presented it is a joy for the senses. The service is prompt and courteous. The space is luminous and embracing. I love it!
They still have a few delicious dishes but we felt that the overall quality had declined since we were last there, a few years ago.
We did the chef recommendation and liked 95% of the dishes. It was really tasty. Only complaint is the slowness of service at the beginning.
Excellent service and food. I will return!
The wait staff is extremely professional and the food was amazing.
Wonderful restaurant experience for first timers... delicious, healthy choice tapas, great service and terrific ambiance
we’ll be back
Great combination of Mediterranean tapas. All dishes were well balanced and flavorful.
Grant food and service. We will definitely be back when in DC
This was our first time dining here and we loved the food, but the service and attitude of most of the staff was less than desirable. The seats where we were located had rips and there was food on the floor.
My favorite restaurant in Washington D.C.
One of my favorite restaurants in DC!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in DC. I’ve been several times and always had different wonderful dishes. I’ve gone and eaten vegetarian, vegan, and keto on different occasions. You can always find something for everyone. The salad with the arugula and the whipped feta is a flavor bomb.
My head hurt after having great service and fantastic food, as always. Just to noisy.
First time here. We enjoyed the ambience and meal. We ordered sangria and hummus to start. I really enjoyed the fresh bread and appreciated that they gave you a second basket without having to ask. We also ordered the grape leaves, beet salad, scallops, and skewer chicken. To end our meal we ordered the rose ice cream. Overall a delicious meal.
Small plates with something of a Greek focus (the stuffed grape leaves are the best we've ever had). It's clearly a Jose' Andres restaurant: thoughtful, creative dishes fit for foodies. Really exciting eating. Everything was so good that nothing in particular stands out.
Very poor service from our table in the bar area.
Firstly, our spreads arrived without napkins, utensils or sufficient pita bread.
Then, the bartender/server attempted to take our menus away before we had completed our order.
Then, we ordered 2 of the same flights of wine, at least one glass of which was quite different, taste-wise, than the corresponding glass. (None of wines were particularly memorable; opt for a full glass, or a bottle.)
Lastly, our remaining order of 5 warm courses arrived simultaneously, resulting in a lot of cold food by the time we made it to the end.
This has always been among my favorite restaurants. It will be quite a while before I return.
Tip: do not subject yourself to the inferior service of the bar area staff.
Amazing food, great ambiance 10/10
Amazing good and excellent service
Delicious wine recommendations, food was fantastic, service was fabulous!
The food was delicious! There were so many options to choose from, it was hard to decide. I had three plates, which was more than enough for one. With a beer, my total was under $50. Highly recommend.
Food was excellent but the service was very slow.
The food was fantastic, except the dessert was mediocre (ice cream). Ordered the chef’s special and it was nice to let them pick the dishes and bring them out, all of which were wonderful.
The two of us did the lunch mezze and got to try lots of different things - they were all incredible! It's a great way to have all sorts of tasty food.
Zaytinya is always a knockout, sure-to-impress restaurant choice! There are plenty of vegetarian options that are enjoyed by meat-eaters and non-meat-eaters alike. The dynamic space adds another element of excitement to this highly recommended eatery!
We felt the food was a little over hyped- good but not great. Also it took over 30 minutes to be seated despite having made a reservation, with minimally apology. And our waitress was a bit rude and rushed
Always excellent with knowledgeable and attentive servers.
By making a simple request on OpenTable we were ushered to a quiet table just perfect for my 90 y.o. Mom. The service from Joel G. was attentive and very engaging, the food delicious, the price more than reasonable, and the ambiance perfect. It's more than a neighborhood gem, it's a gastronomic destination!
Wonderful! So many flavors. Service was outstanding. Javier was so gracious. Thank you!
