Food was great! We started with the octopus which was so tender and delicious. We also did the beef carpaccio which was amazing as well. Brussel sprouts are great too!
everything was delicious ...all appetizers great ...the grouper was outstanding and braised short ribs melted in your mouth...the bread was serve hot and fresh ...service was excellent ...recommend
Food was so good, grouper melted in my moth. The only down thing was that it took over an hour for our dinner to arrive on out tables
The meal was so delicious from appetizer to dessert I was wanting to go the very next night and order the same exact meal. I shared the octupus and scallops, the cauliflower soup, the grouper, and a sinfully chocolate dessert. The mescal old fashioned has me hooked!!
Great service, dinner was delicious with a nice choice of entrees
It was my birthday and they were extremely nice
This is truly one of the best restaurants in New Orleans. The ambiance is modern but elegant without being stuffy. Their craft cocktails were delicious and not sickly sweet. But the real star is the food. Appetizers were delicious including a velvety cauliflower soup with crabmeat on top and a stellar carpaccio. But the sign of an amazing restaurant is that the entrees are worth ordering. So often I just go for multiple appetizers. My brother and I both had fish but each was served with unusual pairings of sauces and sides. Simply stupendous. Chef Sue Zemanick is one of the most gifted chefs in the city.
5 people 5 very satisfied people. Spectacular.
The best date night!
Great food, much too loud.Would be fabulous if the noise level was lower.
Incredible food, wonderful atmosphere, great service.
The grilled octopus might have been the most tender I have ever eaten. The crab claws had the perfect citrus jalapeno marinade. The cauliflower soup topped with crab tasted amazing. And, the almond crusted grouper of greens & butternut squash did not disappoint. Fabulous!
Exceptional food- the glory of Gautreau's continued.
Food is exquisite and service is impeccable. Be prepared for the hefty price. But it’s worth every penny and then some.
Our first visit to Zasu and it definitely lived up to all of the hype! The food was delicious and service was on point. We'll be back!
One of the best meals I have ever had.
Our October visit was our first and great. Our 2nd visit on Feb 18 was not as pleasant for me only because of overly loud chatter by a full house of happy diners. I did not want stay through a coffee and dessert as we enjoyed the first time. I was suprised a bit that the same winter theme menu as in October was still on offer.
Everything we had was amazing. Good portions, very fresh ingredients and unique seasonings. Each dish is so different. We have been several times and have never been disappointed. Our favorite restaurant in New Orleans.
I really wanted to be blown away but I wasn’t. It was very good, not great or outstanding or exciting or even interesting. The fish was fresh, as it should be, and cooked perfectly, as it should be. It was served on a bed of ..,dull.
Service was fine but not great. Server was sweet but not knowledgeable and was probably spread too thin. When food was delivered from kitchen it was tossed on the table by someone who ran by and never looked back.
Fine dining, it was not. Good dining, I give it that.
We had a lovely birthday celebration at Zasu. Located in an old New Orleans cottage, this restaurant is easily missed as you drive by on Carrollton. Look out for it! Wonderful service, an enticing menu, delicious food. A gem.
Definitely one of New Orleans finest.
The food and service were both impeccable! Our favorites were the halibut and the octopus. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
My new favorite place in the city!!
Appetizer was lump crab meat and braised cabbage, entree was wild mushroom perogies, coffee semifreddo for dessert. Everything was excellent. I could have gone for a larger dessert, but that’s just me.
The only problem with having a perfect meal, is that ones expectations become almost unrealistic. The BEST piece of fish that I have ever had - and that says a lot in this town!
Zasu was very accommodating in changing our reservation for the night I thought it was made for (my mistake!). James was our server and was very professional and efficient. Fish was cooked perfectly and scallops and pear salad were both wonderful. Lots of good flavors. A bit loud, and not as cozy as the former place, but will definitely recommend.
Truly incredible meal from start to finish. Exquisite food, wonderful service -- I can't recommend Zasu highly enough!
For all the love of everything PICK THIS RESTAURANT. Every single thing was perfect. It’s like your fairy Godmother made a menu just for you, except there were other people there eating too. We spent time studying the menu and then the waiter read the specials and switched the game up. The way everything was handled was just ... masterful. You know when you read a menu and you’re like “why are there so many things in this meal??? are all of them necessary?” YES. ALL OF THEM ARE NECESSARY. This meal was everything. Everything. And to be fair, it’s not like I’ve lived off rubber chicken dinners all my life. I have access to great food. This was just different. I will never not visit here whenever I visit this city!
Zasu is always delicious!!!!! The food couldn’t be any fresher, the service top notch and Sue is a superstar.
The food was delicious and beautifully plated! Love the decor, and the waitstaff was very attentive.
Food was amazing!!
It was very cold.
Nothing special about the service.
Food quality, presentation was amazing!
Birthday dinner. Food was fantastic. Very noisy but otherwise a great experience.
I have been dreaming about returning to Zasu since my last visit to New Orleans. This experience was also exceptional, due to the combination of innovative cuisine and knowledgable, attentive service. My friend and I asked for a extended tasting, which covered most items on the focused, seasonal menu. Each course took us on a journey of different flavors, exploring classic French, and some Asian influences, while keeping with a local New Orleans feel. While everything was exceptional, I especially loved the grilled Octopus, Beef Carpaccio, Tempura Maitake mushrooms, lump crab and grilled cabbage salad, and the braised beef short ribs. The richly satisfying Wild Mushroom and Potato Perogies pay homage to Chef Sue Zemanick's Sovak heritage, and are not to be missed. Veteran Sommelier Chris Cuddihee has assembled a well curated wine list which perfectly complements the cuisine. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant and look forward to returning as soon as possible.
It was fabulous. The service was perfect, yet friendly ... they made it look easy! Food and drink all perfect.
Freezing cold—- half the people had coats on!!! Food excellent. Too long a wait(50 min) between finishing appetizers & drinks before main course arrived.
Astonishingly fabulous! Fresh, clean flavors in innovative combinations all in a gorgeous lacquered jewel box of a setting. All in all AMAZING!!
Delicious food, tasty cocktails, and fabulous service. Everything was fantastic.
This was our first visit. The restaurant has a beautiful design and layout. We went on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was filled with people and a nice vibe. The service was professional, knowledgeable, and attentive.
My wife and I shared the spinach fettuccine appetizer. It was simply amazing. We loved it so much we were tempted to order another serving. For main courses we had the chicken dish and the beef short ribs . Both main courses were outstanding. We shared the chocolate cake with fig ice cream for dessert. We loved it. The wine list is diverse and filled with excellent selections, at good price levels.
We can hardly wait for our next visit.
