About this restaurant

Delicious modern Indian restaurant Zarana is situated right on the High Street here in Hornchurch, the perfect location for a great neighbourhood hang out. Super contemporary, it’s little wonder that Zarana attracts a young, fashionable crowd of carefree Essexites, the bold interior, state of the art coloured lighting and unbelievably funky bar creating an upbeat atmosphere that’s part hip urban restaurant, part party palace. The menu is surprisingly traditional in places, the Zarana kitchen team obviously keen to pay respects to the authentic flavours of India, in fact Indian street food is also paid homage to in the thali selection. However, in a place like this did you expect the food to be tame? On the house delicacies section of the menu the Zarana chefs let rip with their imagination, creating delicious dishes based on Indian flavours but blended by fresh, strong ideas. With a well-priced banquet menu too, Zarana is – need we say it? – perfect for parties.

    Excellent food and well cooked. The service was also of a good standard, the only issue was that the staff were unaware of the booking but were happy to accommodate the 5 of us in the event.

    Eaten here before food and service always been good unfortunately did not know live music on Saturdays also being xmas eve large group in who kept getting up and trying to sing. Ended up a unpleasant evening. However would go back but not on a Saturday.

    Excellent food in a warm & friendly environment. Food is good value for money whilst drinks edge to being slightly expensive. Disappointed my discount card was rejected.

    We have dined at this restaurant many times. The food is always very well presented and of good quality and the staff are always very friendly. We always enjoy our evenings when we dine here.

    Great midweek value. £12:95 for 6 dishes plus coffee. Staff were very friendly and helpful. First visit and I can guarantee it will not be my last. Very pleased that we booked here. There were 11 of us and every single person enjoyed the evening. Thanks Zarana!

    We have used this restaurant on a number of occasions and the food is always first class. On this occasion the service was just a little down on normal as we had prsented a plain naan as opposed to the shbji naan ordered9this was rectified by the Manager) and the sag paneer arrived a little after the rest of the main dishes. These were only minor issues and didn't spoil the enjoyment.

    We were a group of 8 with a toddler, very early in the evening. We made a varied order and everyone comnented how fresh and tasty the food was. They made allowances for my bored 3 year old and rustled him up a child friendly meal at very short notice
