And our specialty sauces and dressings are always homemade.
My husband, daughter and I went for lunch. This place was amazing! We tried a little of everything, and it was all so good! My favorite was the Dan Dan Noodles, hard to find these days and they were so good! My daughter (the picky eater) had the Bok Choy and Chicken Egg Rolls as well as Chrysanthemum Tea and she was very happy. My husband, had Fried Tofu, Shrimp Avocado Rolls, Deep fried wontons and he said that they were amazing. We also tried the Pineapple Coconut rice with won ton strips and chicken and loved it as well. Would definitely recommend this place for sure! We will definitely be back as well.
Yucca are Lac is a fantastic restaurant for lunch. The staff is attentive but not so much so that you can’t have a nice conversation. Every dish I’ve had is very fresh and tasty. I’m picky with Asian food and Yucca is excellent. This is my new favorite place.
Good food good happy hour
Yucca is a fantastic place to eat. The food is excellent and the staff is very good. There are enough choices for all to be more than satisfied. I enjoy eating there and they let you linger for as long as you like.
Great service, delicious food and nice wine selection. I met with friends for dinner and had a really good time, we will definitely return.
Excellent food. Friends brought me after they tried it. Bit expensive for lunch, much more than Chu's, but can't wait to go again.
We took some friends who had never been here before and they were very impressed. We worked our way through a variety of appetizers including dumplings, Satay skewers, and shared a Watermelon Salad and a duck platter with steamed buns. The wine was very reasonable as well, we shared bottles of Banshee Pinot Noir and Stuhlmuller Chardonnay. Our waiter was very helpful and his helper cleared the plates as we finished them without interrupting our conversation, very pleasant evening.
Good food, service and location!
Loved the dimsum
Great food, excellent service, nice restaurant with good friends, what else can I ask for.
Great day for all 3 of us.
many bees near outside terrace - but everything would be good if dining inside
I reserved indoors, they sat us outdoors on a 95 degree day. Was unbearably hot and several people drank one beer the switched to Gatorade and water to deal with the heat.
Service was terrible, waiters were cranky and not friendly at all. It was like dining at Dick’s Last Resort.
Food was average at best! Think...Chili’s appetizers. Good but at Chili’s I am paying a fraction of the cost and getting much more.
Needless to say, I wont go back. After this experience I looked up reviews and it seems that my experience is the norm. Too bad.
We arrived for our reservation at 6:45 and the host stated our reservation was for 12:30pm. Even after I showed him my opentable reservation confirmation, he said it is not in his system at 7pm. His reaction to the confusion was not handled well and he made our party feel very uncomfortable even when there were empty tables both inside and outside the restaurant. Once we were finally seated, the server was very nice.
My daughter has Celiac disease and LOVES the gluten free options at this restaurant, so we chose to go there to celebrate her birthday. The food was excellent (though a bit pricey) and we sat outside which was beautiful. The service was just ok. We brought a birthday cake that I had made (gluten free) and asked if it was ok if I brought it. They were fine with it so I left it on the bar. I assumed they would keep it in the kitchen until after dinner but they came out right away and were a bit flustered and didn't know what to do with it. They left it on our table while we ate dinner. The servers just seemed a bit impatient with us...not very friendly. Also, they close at 9 pm which usually means no more customers are allowed in, but at 9 pm they started shutting everything down and it was obvious they wanted us out of there. We all felt a little weird about that. We will go back because it's such a great place for my daughter. If not for that, we wouldn't.
We were seated as soon as we arrived. The Open Table reservation system asked for inside for outside table and we selected outside but it seemed no one looked at the reservation. We were lead to an inside table and asked to be seated outside. They responded no problem and gave us a nice table outside.
Service was good. Our orders taken quickly and the food arrived In a reasonable time.
Salad was good, the cooked broccoli was good. The tofu dish was awful. What could have been tasty vegetables was smothered in a gelatinous sauce that made the dish very undesirable. The tofu was silken and breaded. Not my favorite tofu but it would have been acceptable but for the horrible sauce.
Although they couldn’t find my reservation when we arrived, they were remarkably competent in arranging tables for a party of 9! Probably lucky that it was an early Sunday dinner with not many diners.
The food is terrific, however seating before 6pm is limited and not healthy for me (mobility difficulties) Probably will not return
First time at Yucca de Lac. Excellent service. Tried several dishes on the Happy Hour menu and each was excellent - the honey port buns were especially tasty. Will go back to try their main menu.
We love Yucca du Lac. Whenever my family comes to visit they make a point of eating there.
Expected the food to be better. Nice location great menu but quality should have been better for the price.
The food was good, but the service has never been great and last night was worse than normal. The waiter barely spoke English. Service was very slow and inattentive. I had to track down the waiter to get service and the check. I asked for the steak to be cooked medium rare and he said it was "precooked". It came well done. I sent it back and it was cooked correctly. No manager was around to talk to.
Absolutely terrible experience. From service to food. Price did not reflect the experience. Will not return to this place.
Amazing gluten free choices and great food.
This was our first time eating here. The food was delicious but all the other areas were rough to deal with. We sat outside and were constantly raising our level of talking due to mall noise (child having a tantrum, restaurant nearby moving metal chairs all around). Our waiter was very sweet but could NOT understand what items we were ordering. It took over 10 mins. to get our drinks and there were so few patrons eating.
Again, the food was delicious!!
Mother’s Day visit. Not too crowded or noisy. Great seating options inside and out. Service and food was wonderful.
Good selection of dishes to choose from. Tasty rice and wonderful lava cake.
Lots of amazing gluten free choices, fresh and excellent food, great service! Will be back!
Great location, nice interiors (not impress by your outdoors furnishing), accesible price, good wine, dissapointed by food quality (had higher expectations by your Web photos), great reservation system w/follow up call of staff to accommodate for a special-need guest. Most remarkable of our experience: "Ismael"!!! His service and personality will make sure we keep going back!!
The food here is unique and delicious!
Awful customer service experience. I walked out without being served because I waited over 10 minutes with multiple servers walking by without anyone acknowledging me or even offering me water. The host gave me a hard time about wanting to sit on the patio too and made my sit at the same table but directly across from two women eating together. It was so awful and uncomfortable. I’d had a bad experience here before and tried to give it another chance, but this is absurd. I won’t be back.
I reserved a patio table to enjoy the nice weather. Host seemed reluctant to allow me to sit in the front patio where there were sunny tables available. After compling with his direction to be in the side patio, we were chilly and were not having a positive experience with the waiter assigned to the area so we asked to be moved to the front, sunnier patio seating. They did allow us to move, and our selected menu items were fabulous, but the same waiter, along with the bartender took care of the service - which seemed rather challenged. Our main waiter seemed confused with ordering drinks and the items on the menu in general and confused as to what was included in 'happy hour' and what was not. I will definitely be back, but hope for a better experience with the serving staff.
Everything was fabulous! I will be back soon. Friendly, warm and delicious
Service was inept. Salad and entree meat served first. Much later came the appetizer,, and rice. Shrimp in dumplings was far from fresh. Could not finish. Actually spat it out. Never again.
I ordered their steak $35 and more than half of it was fat that I couldn't eat! Manager and chef apparently didnt care, after I told server no one came to table. Also ordered a drink when we first arrived, were never asked if we wanted another.
Lackluster food with somewhat pleasing decor but oddly placed tables. Quite expensive for run of the mill Asian food.
adequate food. terrible service. incredibly noisy. never going back.
Nice looking place with a very friendly staff. Food was great. Loved the Garlic noodles with shrimp.
Great food, great service and dog friendly patio seating. Can't really ask for more.
By far one of the best Asian fusion place in town. Here's why:
1) food: taste, texture, quality, and presentation, are no doubt five star. This place serves lots dim sum dishes and each every dish tastes and looks great. The owner, Chinese descent, did a great job running this place.
2) price: average Palo Alto price. No surprise. However, they have incredibly cheap HH menu with full service on food and drinks. The kitchen definitely spends good amount of time preparing each dish. Today we ordered chicken and spinach fried dumplings (I was full at the time and took a bit of this dumpling and totally blown away. Very crispy on the outside and full of flavor on the inside). Egg rolls, same thing. Scallion pancake is my usual order and it never disappoints and tastes just like home made. Shrimp bites are fried shrimp balls with wonton strips on the outside, very fresh and tender shrimps. Chicken lotus and chicken teriyaki are both amazing! Fried tofu is additive! Most of the items are $6-$8.
3) Service: I probably never see any host at the front to check you in and welcome you. I've been there numerous times and many times frustrated with the service at the front. Now I just go straight to bar and ask them to seat me immediately. Otherwise, you could be standing at the front forever and wait staff won't care even if he sees you. Turnaround in service industry in Bay Area is high especially Palo Alto and Mountain View where workers can't survive with minimum wage when they have to drive hours to come here to work. Sometimes, they take it out on customers. Owell.
4) drinks: I always order the same thing: lychee martini and it never disappoints
Still my favorite HH spot in town. Highly recommended!
