The food was very good, however service was slow. The outdoor seating was spacious and the decor is wonderful.
Beautiful bar and plenty of cool different areas to sit and have a conversation, unfortunately we had to be outside, patio was very nice with heaters. The food was average, nothing special or different. The drinks were way over priced.
Briana was our server , super nice and professional
Food and drinks Aplus!
Definitely will be back😀
Our party of five thought the cuisine, presentation and service were excellent and delivered in beautiful surroundings. The only drawback was the sound level. While the music selection was good, combined with the fountain and other diner's echoing conversations, it was too loud to carry on a normal conversation at our table.
We will be back!
We ordered several tapas including the croquetas de jamon, patatas bravas, beef sliders, pan con tomate and jamon serrano. We were very hungry but all the tapas were enough to fill us up without needing to order entrees (portions were enough for two people to share).
All were good but the standout was the sliders. The beef was juicy and the chorizo jam gave it a unique and tasty flavor.
For dessert we had the churro cake and the cheese tart. Neither were exciting, although they weren't bad either. As someone who normally could eat everything on the dessert menu, I could skip ordering it here next time.
Service was excellent and overall we'll be coming back again.
Downside is parking. It is valet only, which I didn't appreciate because of covid.
Ysidora was great except it took the hostess more than 20 minutes for us to be seated. The restaurant was not full capacity at all and it was for outdoor dinning. That was a disappointment.
The food and cocktails at Ysidora is really fabulous. It is quite pricey considering the amount of food you are served. We dinned here before for brunch and we seem to to like the menu and the atmosphere during Sunday brunch.
We had a great time celebrating my wife's birthday celebration. The food was excellent, the live music was good and the ambieance was superb. All the drinks and food were excellent. My only recommendation is to try to make the Paella by using Fideua, short toasted noodles called fideus, Catalan Style. We had a great time.
Great beautiful atmosphere. Live music and excellent service. Food we love the appetizer (guacamole and ceviche). The steak was a bit dry for us. Overall love the ambiance ...definitely will go back soon. Thank you
Nice area unfortunately food not so good. Over priced small portions
Service very slow but gracious.
Had to ask 3x for Splenda for my cappuccino
My flatbread( 1st on the menu...garden ...? Was yesterday’s food. Mache & greens were spoiled& soggy. Tho artichoke was listed in the ingredients there could not have been 1/4 of scanned heart spread on it in separate pieces. You ‘ll have to do something about the “peas” We had to ask what the cilantro pesto was. Flavorless& Soaked completely into yesterday’s reheated flatbread. My advice: Take this off your menu.
We chose the cheesecake for the birthday dessert. How old was the cheesecake? It had shrunk 1/4” away from the hardened crust.
If things are this slow, you need 2-3 fabulous things on each part of the menu & skip the “ yesterday’s food”
Beautiful ambiance, food was ok I excepted more from this restaurant. Menu variety was not much.
I will go back only for a drink next time restaurant needs upgrade their menu!
The bar area is absolutely full of atmosphere and great selections. Enjoyed my Old Fashioned. Because of temps we then moved to a table at the inside dining room of restaurant. Ambiance in the dining room is nill....very stark, cafeteria feel. Maybe the outdoor dining is better as we saw how beautiful the hotel’s courtyards were with plush seating and fire pits. The service was good but food just so-so. The Red Mojo ceviche was drenched in an orange colored mayo. Fish smelled fishy and without the acid of a normal ceviche all brightness of fresh flavors was missing. The Garden flatbread was limp and cold, flavors bland. Only highlight was Grilled Peach and Tomato Salad.
Delish beautiful room
Not Ready! We enter on the side street and push the button on the parking gate no one answered the phone. Had to park on the side street and walk all the way around the hotel. They sat us at a table that wobbled all night. Service was slow. Food was just Ok. Talked to the manager and she didn’t do anything to assure a great experience. Very noisy inside. We won’t go back until they raise their courtesy and become more customer friendly.
Very eclectic food. Not for those who are non-adventurous!
Lovely ambiance, food was excellent and service was very good. Highly recommended and definitely will be back soon.
First impressions are everything and this place has it all. Every detail has a purpose, great ambiance. Love that they have a live musician during brunch.
Staff and drinks are always incredible. I asked for an iced coffee with baileys, and that’s what I got. Yum! The ceviche and guacamole are a must try. As a pescatarian there aren’t a lot of options. But you learn to take the meat off of things. Tried the avocado toast, good, not great, needs a bit of flavor it was a bit bland. Also tried the egg Benedict, again, I was hoping for a bit more flavor. Should have asked for Tabasco but didn’t. The potatoes it comes with are perfect.
Overall a great place, hoping they expand their menu and add a few vegetarian/pescatarian options.
Went to Sunday brunch, service was perfect, ambience was lovely. Food was good but would’ve liked to have seen some lighter and simpler alternatives. All in all it was a great experience and we’ll be going back.
Wonderful new spot. Would definitely go again. Other then forgetting to get us clean plates and a long wait for our check everything was very good!
Second experience eating dinner in the courtyard and staying at the hotel. Food was delicious, service was somewhat slow (2 hours) due to full capacity. Drinks took 20-30 minutes. We took our table 20 minutes early, as it was one of two tables remaining as walk ins were given table preferences. Our Server was excellent but extremely busy at full capacity in the courtyard.
Love the outdoor dining, delicious food, excellent service and live music! Outstanding!
The menu is tooo limited for lunch. It’s great for tapas snd a beverage but not good for a meal. Food was mediocre. Price was reasonable. Service was excellent. Been twice. Won’t go back until the menu is expanded.
Kylie went out of his way to make our lunch comfortable, enjoyable and delicious. Thank you!
New Restaurant, Food delicious, service excellent!!! :D)
We dined outside in the patio because of Covid concerns, tho we could see inside dining was attractive and distanced appropriately. This is the new neighborhood gem with its many and varied small dishes to share.
Food is amazing... we have been there 3 times now and every tine was great!!! Love the outdoor seating!
Really good food, Amanda at the bar makes great cocktails, and they have frozen Rose and frozen Poloma's! Try the pork rinds and the shrimp was really good. Cooked perfectly!
Beautiful outdoor seating experience. Music was terrific. Food was pricey but delicious. Service was a little bit slow, but it was nice to not be rushed. I will definitely be going back.
I took my husband to Ysidora for his birthday after a friend recommended it to us. We sat on the outdoor patio with the tables nicely spaced apart. There was live music on the patio, and the musician was great! The tapas we ordered were delicious (wood fired street corn, grilled peaches/tomato salad, marinated olives). The bartender made perfect Cadillac margaritas! Our server was very attentive and did a super job. The only thing missing from the evening was a solid entree. I ordered the prawns which were squishy and had no flavor. My husband ordered the paella which had almost no seafood in it. Based on other reviews, I hope the restaurant can work on their entrees because we would love to come back again for dinner. We will definitely be back for tapas, drinks, and music on the patio!
Beautifully designed Spanish style hotel and restaurant. Fits into the history of San Juan Capistrano and is accross the street from the historic mission. Great area to walk around and enjoy the city.
The menu has a heavy Spanish influence with creative and interesting dishes. It's a great idea to order various items and share. Everything is very good, just depends on your own dish preferences. Highly recommend this resturant.
No one else dining in the restaurant and yet we were not checked on at all. Waiters and managers were hiding in the kitchen. Tapas were good. Paella was strange with tiny muscles and clams. Prawns dish favs beans were not cooked and the garlic butter sauce was left off.
Best service and beautiful atmosphere.
My husband and I went to this restaurant last week and had a wonderful experience. I loved it so much that I suggested that we celebrate my girlfriends birthday with you. Our waiter was rude, it took 15 minutes for him to approach our table and ask us for our drink order, left, came back 15 minutes later to tell us he forgot what we ordered and needed to write it down and would be back once again, and 15 minutes later he came back with our drinks. We were hoping to have dinner with you but because our waiter seemed so annoyed we were even there we left and went to Trevor on the Tracks where we had an amazing time. Very disappointed. This was my girlfriends first impression of your restaurant, while celebrating a special birthday, and it was a horrible one. 10/20/20 - 5:30pm.
This is our third time dining there. Only the second time was excellent in terms of food and service. This time I want to specifically complain about the prawn dish with spinach and fava beans. The portion was too small for the $34 price tag and the ingredients really didn’t go with one another well. The Inn at the Mission where this restaurant belongs is gorgeous inside out and the grounds are beautiful too, but the outdoor dining area could benefit from some decor or lighting to improve its ambiance.
Justin was an excellent server! Amanda was great, too!
Beautiful property. Nice ambiance with acoustic singer. Food was cold, sent back, Luke warm second time. New restaurant, will give it another try.
The service here is extremely poor. Took 45 minutes to be seated ever though we had reservations. Took another 15 minutes to be served beverages and given a menu, and lastly the food was very mediocre and we will not be returning.
Food was average at best. Had to send one of the appetizers back.
Absolutely gorgeous!! So incredibly impressed with the hotel, bar and the restaurant. The service is 5 star!! Incredibly attentive from the door person, hostess, bartender, and server. My husband and I went for a date night on a Friday night and they had live music outside - the music and the ambiance was perfect!! I am a pescatarian and they did not offer many options so it would be nice to see more fish and vegetarian options but otherwise I loved everything, can't wait to go back and would highly recommend to anyone and everyone!!
Loved every single thing we ordered! Service is great! Beautiful restaurant!
