Absolutely fantastic experience. Would highly highly recommend!
Literally out of a Netflix movie document where the food was prepared in front of you, quiet as can be, beautiful sauces
Excellent meal, again. Great use of seasonal ingredients from all over North America, Mexico, and Japan. Delicious.
Delicious food in a quiet but not overly formal atmosphere. Very interesting to watch the chefs prepare food at the bar, would definitely recommend it over table seating. The sake pairing was also delicious and complemented the meal well. There are about 20 courses - most consisting of a single nigiri (though the tuna serving came with 3 to highlight different levels of fat content) - and 5 sakes in the pairing, so most people should be approaching full by the end of the meal (though I personally left still a little hungry). The price is prohibitive so save this for a special occasion.
An absolutely delicious omakase experience. Of course, very pricey but absolutely worth. Fish has been transformed to the level of art. If you don't know what umami flavor is, you will after this.
Excellent food and an amazing experience. Attention to detail by the chefs were second to none. Brief explanation of where the fish came from and type once it was served. Definitely worth the money. Recommend to sit at the bar as it adds to the experience watching the sushi being prepared.
Back to a more nigiri focused menu. Excellent food and service as usual.
Brought my best friend here for her birthday. Her first omakase experience and she loved it!! My fav place in Toronto. Will def be back for more delicious sushi.
We went for my husband's birthday, we had a great time. The lady at the front door was not nice at all. We hope it wouldn't be like that for the whole night but the chefs were great and food was amazing. They need to improve the wait staff.
Amazing omakase as always. Good variety of seafood from both North America and Japan.
Yasu Sushi Bar provided a really great service when I visited. The staff were very nice and the chefs took time to explain the food they were serving.
2nd time here. Still fresh ingredients. If you are looking for a place with nice and fresh sushi, it is a good place to go. Not outstanding tho in terms of the types of fish and the rice underneath is not sticky enough so almost every single piece is loose and does break. Overall it is good for a causal dinner for couples, family and friends.
Overly priced. The place smells fishy. The best sushi restaurant should not smell fishy.
Amazing food, fabulous service. My favourite treat for once a year!
Yasu was fantastic. Easily accommodated our one request.
Everything was amazing!
Very high fish quality, nice location and perfectly executed.
I will be back soon!
Also really recommended for a night out by yourself.
Had a great time!
Excellent place for Omakase. Lots of exotic and interesting options for fish beautifully presented and some flown from Japan. The Sushi Chefs are professional, friendly and entertaining through the entire omakase experience. Servers are also very welcoming, warm and friendly. Great vibe and crowd at the sushi bar with everyone enjoying the experience and having fun. Reasonably priced for the quality of food and experience you getting. Highly recommend.
It is an amazing Omekase experience but very expensive!
Phenomenal experience - likely the best dining experience of my life and definitely the best I’ve had in Toronto (in 10+ years being here)! It was a sublime experience that had us feeling relaxed and in an exceptional state of mind during and for a while afterward. The food was outstanding as was the experience of watching our food be masterfully prepared in front of us. Plus every dish was simply delectable, and the absolute perfect amount was served. We’ll definitely be remembering this experience for a while to come! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
It was definitely an amazing experience. The nigiri was fresh, though some pieces were a bit repetitive in taste and texture. I appreciate the hard work the chef and staff put into creating the food as well as the overall atmosphere. The service was amazing. Would definitely recommend someone who is able to afford this experience to at least try this once
Food was fresh and prepared in front of you. Brought me back to Japan, I love it!
Amazing service and experience. The atmosphere was great and overall a great time. Definitely a must try!
Only one word can describe this: WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of the omakase options in Toronto, this is one of the cheaper ones, with Saito being $500 per person. Very cozy location with an intimate experience that is both delicious and informative.
Wasn't as good as the last time I was here, the fish guts was interesting but I didn't love it. Still everything was prepared well overall. I actually prefer the change of the crab meat with crab guts mixed. It doesn't look as pretty as the leg and roe sitting on top but the flavour was better. With the overall menu not changing I don't know when I'll be back.
Best sushi I have had in Toronto. Quite expensive though.
Service need to be improved!
The chef’s selection was fabulous. I joked with him and told him that’s he’s the Jiro of Toronto and out of respect for Jiro Ono, he bowed down humbly and said he was no match for Jiro. The smoke yellowfin with ponzu sauce was outstanding. Highly recommended, the best omakase in the whole of North America.
It was a wonderful meal
Went for Anniversary. As good as Tokyo omakase
Came here for my mother’s birthday, was a very good experience at Yasu. Food was amazing, Chef was super friendly, quality of food matches with what you would get in Japan. Would definitely recommend all my friends and family to come pay a visit!
I really love their sushi and the professionalism of the Japanese chef. The presentation was really nice. Everyone says Shoushin is the best in Toronto, but after trying Yasu, both my friend and I think Yasu much better in food. However, I don't like the smell in the restaurant. The service is kind messy too. I think Shoushin has much better service and atmosphere.
The restaurant is quite small but it is very intimate as the bar seating gives you front row seats to the chefs. Fish is imported from various countries and they all tasted amazing. As with all omakase, you don't know what you're eating until you get it! Would definitely go back more often if it wasn't so pricey, but it's worth it.
Brought parents to Yasu. They never disappoint and food is absolutely scrumptious and fresh!
Me and my boyfriend went to Yasu for our anniversary. The restaurant is small and cosy, there are about 12 bar sittings and two tables. There are about 20 courses served, food are fresh however I don’t find it’s special. The chef served us doesn’t seem like having passion about his job, he’s more like a robot repeating same sentence to different ppl. The course is 135/person, I will say it’s okay value since there are 20 pieces, hows it’s not the best value if you are looking for something amazing.
The food and dining experience were exceptional. We really enjoyed the chill ambience and cozy space there. There were only 12 seats at the sushi bar, 2 chefs - each handle 6 people; and about 6 seats at private tables. The only problem we experienced was that they were unreachable through either phone or email. Phone call will direct you to voice mail/online booking, email was unresponsive. Other than that, our concern got sorted out quickly once we arrived in-person at the restaurant. The rest of the experience was amazing.
Wine list was not very diverse and a bit overpriced.
It was excellent, top notch service all around. Best omakase I’ve had so far!!
Lovely experience with the chef being very attentive!
