Amazing first time experience at Yasu - they definitely have put a lot of thought into their menu and the experience. Would definitely come back again for special occasions.
In terms of food quality, absolutely outstanding for most if not all the dishes. You also get a fairly wide variety of nigiri at Yasu. The chefs are extremely nice and would make sure that you're well taken care of and try their best to satisfy your preferences.
For a great omakase experience...look no further. Impeccable attention to details that will satisfy the taste buds
Incredible Omakase experience with Chef Ouchi Yasuhisa! His attention to detail is remarkable 👏
The fish is extremely fresh, you will feel like your experience is in Japan! Strongly recommend this place for a fine dining experience like no other. Would also recommend the sake pairing and a special shout-out to the waitresses as well who were very meticulous
If you are looking for the great, traditional sushi experience, this is the place. The concept is simple but difficult to execute, which this place has mastered - quality ingredients handled with care, served in optimal condition and temperature. Pacing and order of the menu are thought out with care. They do not try to be snobby or pretentious - there are no gold flakes or caviar to hide behind. Just a pure expression of what sushi is supposed to be.
Delicious & filling, recommend for special occasions
good omakase overall, i really appreciate the black cod one and tuna Belly, the snow crab one was not great and really out of season, i was by myself and i was between 3 plexiglass like in a box... is not the fault of anyone as its a law in this period but defenetely affect the experience of a counter seat.
17 course meal all were really good the chef was really funny all the food melted in my mouth
Still the best sushi in town! Will be back for more soon! :D
First omakase experience, excellent choice
Simply amazing, best fish I’ve ever had, maybe ever.
Great dining experience as usual :)
We return to Yasu time and time again, because of its amazing consistency; you will never have a disappointing meal here. Everything is served at the optimal temperature, and timing of the course is impeccable. If you want to treat your loved ones or want to impress your date, and if they love sushi, you will be very happy that you discovered Yasu.
I have been waiting for yasu to reopen for dine in. It was as good as the last few times I went there. Loved it everytime although the price went up a bit.
Yasu - one of the extravagant Omakase restaurant in Toronto, a must try for every Japanese food lovers.
Thank you Chef Ken prepared each piece of fish with great details and precision. Every piece is top notch and delicious. Even mackerel and eel didn’t have any fishy taste to it. Also we tried a monkfish liver the first time and it almost dissolved in your mouth.
Service is excellent as well. We ordered a bottle of sake and they keep the open bottle in the fridge for us. The waitress will bring the bottle and fill our cups in perfect timing. The waitress pays amazing attention to detail. After we finished a few courses, the waitress bring out wet towels for us to wipe our hands and we are they only one have that. Later, we found out why they only give us the towels because we were the only one who eat with our hands, the rest of people in the restaurant were all using chopsticks. That small gesture impressed me. Chef Ken also noticing my friend is lactose intolerant and can’t have ice cream for dessert, he immediately peel and cut a kiwi fruit for her.
The place is clean, comfortable and quiet, an environment where you can relax, focus on the course and enjoy your dinner. While Yasu is definitely an expensive splurge, we spent about $960 for 4 people included a $95 bottle of sake, tax and tips. It's well worth it. We will come again for sure!
It was one of the best dinners we've ever had! Quiet atmosphere, good safety precautions taken following COVID guidelines, and really amazing and fresh food. Would 10/10 visit again.
Went here for my boyfriend's birthday. The sake pairing option was outstanding. Expensive, but well worth the experience.
Yasu takes a simple idea of cuisine and elevates it to the sublime. Incredibly fresh fish, perfectly cut and executed and the best sushi rice I’ve experienced. A broad array of geographies for fish presented in sequence by a congenial and charming chef at the bar.
The sake is perfectly matches the food, glad to have this wonderful meal at Yasu. Seating at the sushi bar is the best choice for enjoying the food. Definitely will come again.
The best sushi in Toronto. Been going to Yasu for years and it’s always amazing.
Clean surrounding, dividers between seats and chefs. Good and fresh sushi! The ice cream was super delicious too
Be in mind that is not just a dinner is a experience.
Recomend for special ocasion.
Absolutely amazing, Great good for a great price! Will definitely come back.
dinner was really nice and tasty. We find that yasu is a great place for traditional style sushi as it has great variety and high quality.
It was a very personal and intimate experience as the chef only served 6 people at a time.
Food and experience was amazing! I've been here 4 times now and I'm just as impressed every single time. This is hands down my favourite sushi restaurant in the city!
Food was amazing. Really great interactive experience. The portions are small but there are 20 of them so come HUNGRY. Otherwise you likely will tap out by course 15
Great sushi and sashimi restaurant. Quiet, unique and a treat if you're looking for a nice night out.
My favvvv restaurant
My first time at Yasu and wow I am speechless, from the service to the quality of the food, outstanding! Definitely worth the price and will be coming back soon, cannot recommend this place enough! What a fantastic experience. Just the right amount of food to satisfy but not overly too full. I am beyond happy!
It was an exceptional experience! Highly recommended for a true sushi lover. Wonderful service and incredibly fresh and unique courses during the omakase. Expensive but worth it. Highly recommended!
Never get disappointed with the quality of food & service. Best omakase in Toronto!
12/10 culinary experience !!!
Amazing fresh sushi and great service!
The beginning was a bit off, could have been a bit more organized. Felt like a bunch of us were just standing there and not knowing what to do prior to being seated. Wasn't a lot of us, only a total of 12. I was allergic to two things so wasn't able to eat it but they were accomdating about it and offered to make something else which was nice but my boyfriend just ate my part. Overall the food was very good, I loved the whole concept. Would definitely recommend and come back in the future. Service was excellent as well.
I have been several omakase places in the world. Food in this place was absolutely great. But, I wish they can think about changing order of sushi being served. For example, some white fish was served after ottoro, which has strong flavor note. After eating those fish with high fat contents like ottoro, a subtle-flavor white fish like madai was somewhat...buried. I also had white fish like madai and hirame served with salt instead of soy sauce in Japan to bring up their own flavors more. I hope they consider about this. Anago sushi had soil or dirt-like flavor which could be prevented with stronger unagi sauce. Although all these mentioned seem a bit nitpicking but considering this is authentic edomae omakase course meal, thinking of little details matters. Overall, this is the best as you get, out of Japan.
