    Yamas seems to be a place that has sustained its business based on the decor, and people posting pictures in front of the building on Instagram. The decor is beautiful, in and out. I also think they have a great location. Unfortunately this was about where it begins and ends for me. We had a reservation but they must be understaffed at the front desk because it took us about 10 minutes of standing up front before we were finally seated. Once seated we sat for another 10-15 minutes with no waitress/waiter until I finally flagged someone down. That translated to a waitress coming over to us, standing behind me and barely having any initial communication skills. Luckily we had plenty of time to view the menu so we ordered everything while we could, drinks, appetizer and entrees. The Good: The mocktails we had were great and the Spicy Feta was outstanding, I was also pleased with the generous portion. The Bad: The steak was over-done, I was never given the option as to how I wanted it cooked so I don’t know if this is standard or not but the steak was tough and over cooked. The scallops we ordered were also overdone. The rice tasted like something that had been left over from the day before, and I’m pretty sure it was. The salad left something to be desired. The french fries… were, well…. French fries. At almost $150 for 2 people this was definitely NOT WORTH IT. I am a big fan of Greek food and Austin has way better to offer. I would highly recommend avoiding this place unless you are just looking to take a selfie by the front door.

    Slow cooked ribs were so bad I didn't even take them home as leftovers. Annoying bugs flying throughout the meal and other tables. Extremely noisy. Uhhh on the desert.

    We had a fun dinner at Yamas—good food overall! The fried feta and the mussels were delicious, and the branzino entree was flavorful, though the scallop entree was a bit overcooked. The atmosphere is festive and lively—definitely on the louder side, with three birthday celebrations happening while we were there. Expect loud music and sparklers if someone’s celebrating. We were disappointed with the cocktails—I expect a good margarita in Texas even at a Greek restaurant. Still, a good spot for a vibrant night out.

    Took a new friend and biz connection to lunch at Yamas and was delighted at how delighted she was! As event professionals we were both thrilled at the gorgeous setting, interior design... The beautiful, warm service, and of course, the delicious food. We both enjoyed 3 choices from the pre fixe lunch menu which allowed us to taste a great variety of food... We were delighted x 6 dishes! The staff was so warm and friendly, which made it even more fun. I had been there for dinner but it was her 1st time to visit and she's so excited to go back. It was nice seeing so many guests having fun and being delighted. Yamas is always a win.

    My third visit did not disappoint. Only one small glitch with a wine, listed on menu but not available. Otherwise, the food was wonderful, the service was attentive and provided an extra bonus with a surprise birthday dessert. Authentic Greek food served in a lovely setting.

    First time diner. Was overall an absolutely lovely experience. Service was excellent. Knowledgeable and patient. Food was mind blowingly delicious. Shared everything which was a good piece of advice from our server. Food came out at a great pace and was really perfect. Dined with family who had been to Greece and that entire region of the world. They said the food was spot on if not better. Can’t wait to go back.
