Using traditional Hakata Yakitori cooking techniques passed down through generations, our skilled chefs grill Hawaii's natural ingredients to perfection. We are committed to sourcing the very finest ingredients from Hawaii's many talented farmers, fisherman, and purveyors. A wide range of beer, wine, nihonshu (sake), shochu, chuhai and highballs are available to complement our Yakitori.

This is our third visit to Yakitori Hachibei and food is still consistently outstanding. We brought some friends with us that are notoriously picky about their restaurants and food quality and they couldn’t say enough good things about it! I genuinely hope major Blangiardi can get Chinatown cleaned up and safe for all to enjoy on a regular basis. There are a lot of fantastic restaurants in the area with so much potential to for more to flourish if the area was properly revitalized.

Yakitori Hachibei is the best place for your favorite Japanese yakitori and related dishes. From the Wagyu beef, chicken breast, chicken thigh to the pork wrapped lotus root and everything in between the food is delicious. The restaurant has just enough light and is immaculately clean. Ono-san is a gracious host who always makes us feel welcomed and the chefs and staff are top notch. There is parking in two nearby lots and the atmosphere in China Town at night is fun to visit and stroll through. We give five stars and encourage anyone looking for a great yakitori meal to try this terrific little restaurant.

It would be good to develop some vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. Japan’s culinary traditions usually include a lot of vegetables (including in traditional yakitori-ya) but the Hachibei menu was focused on meat.

Absolutely incredible experience last night. Sat solo at the bar (highly recommended) ordered a bit of everything and the service on top of the food was over the top! If you’re on the island, make the trip to Chinatown.
