   Excellent spot. Mixed starter plater was supreme, Then the lamb shanks to follow, which were tender and flavoursome. We chose to sit up stairs , with lovely seating and ambience. Well worth a visit. Don’t forget they close at 9.

   The interior and atmosphere are unique, the service is always friendly and great, and the food is exceptional. We've been coming here for 17 years and will come again. It's not cheap, but worth every penny. The place is also full of heritage, it’s truly a cultural landmark in Dolgellau.

   We planned a weekend break in Dolgellau and Y Sospan was booked two weeks before the trip. We last ate there in September 2023 so being keen to visit again is a strong recommendation. We both wanted the lamb shank and it was outstanding in quality and quantity. It's a really interesting building, the service was excellent, the whole experience just what we hoped for. We did, in fact, return for lunch, without booking, on Saturday as we were keen to give the Cafe Menu a try. It'll be on our wish list anytime we are in North Wales and want a decent meal.

   When we went this time it was Curry Night. The food was very nice. We have been before and had something on the normal menu. The food is lovely. The restaurant is nice and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. Very interesting history about the building. We would definitely recommend this place.
