Xport bar & lounge - The Porter Hotel
Willamette River and Cascade foothills to the east. With cuisine and cocktails Influenced from all corners of the world, Xport redefines the rules of lounging by connecting unparalleled views with highly crafted mixology and global fare.
I would definitely recommend Xport Bar & Lounge! It has such an amazing ambiance with the changing lights, live DJ and two different bars. There is a rooftop balcony that has a fireplace and comfy couches to look at the city. The happy hour menu is such a steal, I definitely recommend getting the chicken tacos!
The ID checker could be a little more receptive- have t been carded in a LONG time, kind of rude. I wasn’t sure I wanted to go in, glad I did. Just think the first person you meet at the door should be indicative of what’s inside, which was really fun.
We made reservations. We were seated immediately. But that’s as good as it got. It took about 25 minutes before we got our drink order taken. It took another 10-15 minutes to get a drink. We were denied a side of green olives for our drinks (which i asked if i could pay for them)... followed by over hearing 2 of the waitresses mock us and talk badly about us. Food is amazing but can’t recommend this place to anyone.
Nice location, view, and vibe. Decent cocktail selections and happy hour menu.
Atmosphere is great. View from roof will be awesome once construction is finished (if ever!) Drinks are great. Menu is interesting and some things are amazing (Chinese take-out was fantastic; weird toast dessert was good and very interesting). All in all, a fun spot for a group of friends to gather after work. House manager was honestly throwing shade all around, so I could have done without that, but waitstaff and service overall was excellent.
Good prefixe Valentines Day menu and service was attentive but allowed us to have an intimate evening. The ambiance is cool, but no over the top view, there’s no great focal point.
Made reservations for Valentine’s Day drinks at the bar but was given sub-par service and experience. Host as the front desk did not honour our prior reservation request for a window seat despite multiple opened seats saying that it was “reserved”. Didn’t get an explanation on what “reserved” meant as we also reserved out seat with prior request on seating arrangement too. My partner and I saw multiple people who came in after us getting seated at the window seats and were puzzled with what prior arrangements were needed.
Ended up at a 4 person round dining table, chucked down our cocktails and left with a bad aftertaste of the experience. Our server came over at least 4 times asking if we wanted food despite us mentioning that we were only there for drinks when we were seated. Impersonal, standoff-ish service.
While the interior and location of the bar is cool and interesting, the undesirable service and treatment gave us a bad experience. Wouldn’t return to this place or recommend anyone wanna to make it too “special” as expectations cannot be met.
It was a fun ambience but I felt the food portions were small. Cocktails and service were great! I’m happy we caught the happy hour discount too!
The main reason I chose the Xport bar was location. The view of Mount Hood can be lovely. The new buildings have rendered the veiw difficult if not impossible. The happy hour vittles were creative and, well, okay...not great. The asian take out option was a head scratcher, not sharable and not enough food to even call it a serving. The drinks were great, I had a Pisco sour, then a beer. The wine selection was great. The real problem was the noise level. The music blared at 5:30pm (why?), then the people density was such that everyone was elbow to elbow and they kept the bar side of the lounge closed. If the people were spread out, it would have been far more enjoyable to commune with friends.
This was our first time at xport bar & lounge, we loved the specialty drinks and the happy our food was really good, we’ll be going there more often.
Really liked the atmosphere except maybe I'm getting too old for loud music. You don't get your own designated server. They do a roving style where different servers check on you. Great for when you have quick bits and drinks, but had to repeat ourselves a few times and hear an explanation of certain dishes more than once because staff didn't know we had already heard it. We didn't mind so it's not a reason to not some hear....just wanted to give that feedback in case it matters to some.
Great drinks! Cute cute cute!
My friends and I were having a couple of drinks together at a table that we reserved when we decided to go and check out the outside patio area. When we went back inside our table had been given away and the manager accused us of never even having a reservation and just sitting at a random table. Weird experience...
Great view with contemporary bar with indoor/outdoor seating. Highly recommended.
Service is really good and friendly.
We usually go for happy hour and snacks. Fondue is good and we always enjoy finding out what the Chinese Take-out will be. It changes frequently and we always enjoy it! Chickpea fries are also delicious.
Wonderful view, staff and food. Great place to bring out of town guests.
Great lighting, great service, good food, good drinks.
Amazing restaurant, great happy hour, lovely staff! I would stay at The Porter, Portland just because of my experience at this restaurant. I recommend the IPA, oysters, chickpea fries, and mushrooms and bokchoy plate. Great atmosphere, very relaxing!
Service was not exceptionally good. The main hostess had to help our table as our server appeared high or something...
I’ve already referred two coworkers to this place just based on my experiences on Saturday night. Go! Have a drink and definitely get the Crab Tots!
Service was slow and our waitress spilled drinks on 1 woman in our party, drinks and glass shattered everywhere.
Showed for an early cocktail hour - The server was gracious and promptly brought out drinks and allowed us to peruse the food menu. Food was inventive, beautiful to look at and satisfying. Wine pours were standard but at a happy hour discount.
Location, ambiance and outdoor seatings with fire pit was nice and also the attentive water/bus boy! That’s the only nice thing I have to say... not sure where our waitress was? (Place was NOT busy and tons of staff just walking around) Someone else took our order. Once our waitress did show face we asked for our bill... not once did she ask us how our food or drinks were even though she saw that they were barely touched. We came from out of town just for the weekend to do some shopping and wanted to try a new place.... I’ll have to warn friends to stay away from this wanna be upscale establishment. I’ll just give my money to Departure @ the nine hotel instead! Hostess, waitress, bartenders, ambiance and food is money well spent there and cheaper then Xport! And that’s where went after this disappointment
I had celebrated my boyfriends birthday there and they set up the table so cute and with his name on there. It was beautiful in there, music was great, food was yummy , service impeccable, over all great place for date night I will be back. Thank you.
First time visiting this new rooftop lounge in Portland. The building is super nice, LEED-certified, shiny and new. A huge space. Two outdoor decks, one covered and both with great seating, firepit, etc. The lighting was supercool, gently rotating thru the color spectrum. Our service was prompt, friendly and responsive. We got there during happy hour, so took advantage of $2 tacos. Drinks were well crafted, balanced and tasty. A couple drinks a piece, some great food and a beautiful view of Portland, all totaled $70. Not a bad price for everything. I would recommend for visitors, office groups and date night.
Beautiful restuarant! Friendly staff and food was really good!! The view was gorgeous!
Our anniversary. We had drinks and an appetizer at XSport then Terraine for dinner. It was our first visit and very impressed by the view, mood and decor, very classy. We had no idea this place existed and will be back!
We were guests at the hotel and went up for happy hour. We were very pleased with the service and all of the food items were tasty and very well prepared. Staff were all very helpful and friendly and the view is great!
Good music, food and views of Portland
Great view, comfortable seating, great small plates & nice drink selection. Perfect place to end the day.
Everything we’ve eaten here has been delicious. The happy hour menu is really good and includes oysters currently. The chick pea fries are much more delicious than they sound. They are super good actually. They have a slight , but evident crunch in the outside and the inside is warm, melty, custard-like goodness The cocktail menu is fun and the service has always been good. Edwin took care of us most recently and he did a great job!
Thanks so much for coming up and leaving us some feedback! We're delighted you had a good time, and look forward to seeing you again soon!
The sandwiches were a mess to eat—they fell apart and were very drippy. The Brussels sprouts were underseasoned. I asked our server for salt and pepper. He returned with just salt and embarrassingly said that, “the chef doesn’t believe in pepper.”
The server was friendly and courteous. Otherwise, the experience wasn’t great. I won’t be going back.
Waited 15 min to be served on. Wasn’t a busy evening. Food wasn’t spectacular.
beautiful views, great bar food, charming service and overall good value
Great view. Drinks were creative.
Incredible view. Great service. Good happy hour menu and fair pricing. Fondue platter was amazing. Very fresh vegetables.
Great ambiance and service, be patient and enjoy the views
INCREDIBLE venue. The inside was insanely gorgeous (lights and ambience change colors). The deck- beautiful views, fit pits, several bars..we had a large party there and it worked perfectly. Food was to die for. I had the crab tots and chick pea fries. All of the drinks were delicious from the wine selections to the craft cocktails. Our group had a beautiful night and really enjoyed it. It’s definitely pricey, even for happy hour..but you pay for the views and ambience. Service was A+. We will definitely be back.
Dana thank you so much for coming up with your amazing group! So glad you all had a wonderful time, and found xport the perfect spot for your celebration! Thanks for leaving us some feedback, and we hope to see you all again soon. Cheers, Sue
Awesome views. Great service. Hip place. Great rooftop.
The view from the sixteenth floor of the Porter Hotel is outstanding. The service is excellent. Prices, considering those two facts, at happy hour especially are great. We had several, small plate items as a dinner. All were delicious except the “Chinese Take Out Chef’s Choice”. Beware the dry, overlooked tuna in that. The fondue was particularly delightful, both in taste and presentation.
We requested an outdoor table during a very busy evening and the hostess got us a table and we really appreciated it.
