On June 5th, Chef Kegan Stritchko will welcome sake expert, Dila Lee, to XOXO Sushi Bar in Chestnut Hill for an evening of perfect pairings. Chef Stritchko, a master of jukusei omakase, will be joined by Lee, a sake expert of Kome Collective, in presenting a 16-course menu complemented by carefully curated sake designed to delight the palate. Sake expert Dila Lee will guide diners through her choices with 8 different sake, featuring all sake categories with different tasting notes that enhancing the food experience. The sushi was the best I have had! They have a variety of fresh, very fresh fish selection. The chef Kegan is very creative, friendly! We loved the atmosphere and the service!

The food was excellent, fresh fish and all other ingredients. Servings though are pretty small so more like “bar eats”. Also we wanted a side of rice but strangely, they did not have rice except where it’s part of a dish, like unagi. Place is best suited for younger crowd for drinking and hanging out, not really for a sit-down immersive foodie experience.

Didn’t acknowledge that we were there to celebrate my wife’s birthday even though that’s what I put for the reservation. They also tried sitting us at the bar when I selected a standard table (there were open tables). Overall the food isn’t bad, but it’s very pricey for what you get. You’ll spend a lot and still leave hungry.
