Elevate the evening with a carefully curated beverage pairing, featuring a harmonious selection of top-shelf Japanese whisky, premium sake, and world-renowned wines for an additional $195. Each course is a culinary masterpiece, showcasing the finest imported and domestic seafood. Chef Stritchko's mastery shines through in every bite, as he meticulously crafts each dish to highlight the natural flavors and textures of the ingredients. The jukusei omakase experience promises an evening of opulence and refinement, where guests surrender to the creative genius of the chef. As the translation of omakase suggests, "I leave the details up to you" - allowing Chef Stritchko to guide you on a sensory journey through exceptional sushi. An Exclusive One-Night Omakase-Sake Showcase at XOXO Sushi Bar Chef Kegan Stritchko, sake expert Yishi Li host evening of perfect pairings WHAT: On May 14, Chef Kegan Stritchko will welcome sake expert, Yishi Li, to XOXO Sushi Bar in Chestnut Hill for an evening of perfect pairings. Chef Stritchko, a master of jukusei omakase, will be joined by Li, a WSET Level 3 sake professional who holds a Sake Diploma with Japan Sommelier Association, in presenting a 16-course menu complemented by carefully curated sake designed to delight the palate. Guests will begin the epicurean experience with a Mini Lemon Sour welcome cocktail crafted with Tsuru-Ume Lemon. As Chef Stritchko introduces the first courses – a duo of Island Creek oysters and houbou usuzukuri – Li will guide diners through her sake choice, Ohmine “3 Grain” Omachi with hints of peach, Asian pear, lychee and mandarin orange. To accompany the next bites of ishidai, kasugodai, hon hiramasa and hotaru ika nigiri, guests will sip Kuheiji Sauvage 2023 Junmai Daiginjō made of 100% omachi rice. The fourth beverage is Houou Biden "Asahi Mai" that will be served alongside delicacies of chawanmushi, kamasu and akamutsu. Up next, a collection of sea treasures (chu-toro, otoro, jo uni, negitoro) paired with Akabu “Junmai Daiginjo” followed by courses of bone marrow with uni and an A5 waygu carpaccio served with Nishide 100 Year Junmai Daiginjo. For the finale, a mixed berry cheesecake will be balanced with a taste of “Tsuru-ume” Ichigo, a seasonal strawberry sake.

the food was of good quality and interesting. However it is VERY expensive. The item that really set me off in terms of price was the dessert. $26 for a tiny piece of "mango rum roll" - literally the size of a half dollar coin. Crazy!!

The food here is remarkable, though very pricey, even for sushi. The music is veeery loud. The building is small, so bar and “dining room” are the same room, which is fine except that the music is set at bar to club levels making conversation challenging. Usual crap of seating you at the worst table in an empty dining room to see if you’ll take it

Great food. But music was say too loud. Asked to lower a bit and they told us “we can’t control the music, the owner has the remote”. If you don’t want to do something your customers ask for, that is fine! But don’t lie to them

XOXOBAR is a fantastic Japanese restaurant !! Service and food was incredible. lots of choices and a terrific wine and drink list. BUT . . . you get what you pay for and it's on the pricey side - figure $100/person. would absolutely recommend and will go back.

The food is so good and fresh. We loved the crispy rice with spicy tuna, the fried cauliflower, and the hand rolls. This is my second time back, and I will come back again.
